T-Mobile Confirms No Hero in the U.S.

Speaking at an event today in New York City, T-Mobile USA's CTO Cole Brodman said that the company "has no plans to bring the HTC Hero to market" in the U.S. Instead, T-Mobile is offering the Google-branded HTC myTouch 3G.

no, the multi touch is copyrighted patented by apple. Apple has claimed multi touch as their technology and other companies cannot take it. That's why I'm slowly moving to apple computers and ipods and iphones because they're the only company that is allowed multi touch. Kind of gay

well it isn't official yet ive heard. They said apple is trying to so idk. And how do u know it's multitouch does it say anywhere that it is because it only shows them using 1 finger.

Um obviously you haven't watched all the videos on this phone or the Pre. Both of them use multi-touch and you can't patent something after you and other people are already using it. You're obviously very uneducated on both the law and the Pre and Hero.

apple try to patent everything most of which they didn't invent or pioneer but its still worth a try with the kick backs you get from holding patents in telecommunications these days.

@nick83366650 they got the patent. But i found out as long as the touch screen is out of the patent area like, different, than the company can keep it. That means that palm pre must not have as many features as the iphone in touch technology or maybe it's even better but it can't be exactly the same

That would make sense like HTC call it "pinch to zoom" not multi touch and in fact it isn't real multi touch at all when you put you fingers on the screen in recognizes them as two separate contacts one after the other. finger works invented multi-touch and they were bought by apple but patenting touch screens is like the people that have patented you genes (yes you have to pay to look at your own genes) it stupid next they will patent the mouse lol

yeah they could probably patent the magic mouse touch thing. kinda stupid how they try to patent something that has potential so no one else can enjoy it, but people can get around that.
