I seen Johnny Cash live for the last time in 1997 and it was an awesome show like always,he had some kind of presence, a hold on an audience that is hard to explain with words unless you had seen it for yourself.During the concert Cash had to leave the stage and change his shirt because he was soaked with sweat- and when he came back,he said that he was suffering from a rare disorder and had recently made an anouncment that he was going to stop touring- I looked around the room at a lot of tears
Never seen this video before :O Love this song. Taught myself how to play the guitar over the past few months and this was the first song I could actually play all the was through haha.
Live from San Quentin is one of the most amazing albums ever, even if youre not a country/Johnny cash fan. This performance is absolutley top class. J C You are missed.
Right on, it is 1993. But no, his lead guitarist doesnt have one eye ;) With the shadow off his hat it kind of looks like it though. Thats Bob Wootton, his lead player and band leader from 1968-99.
I have an article by radio 2 dj (cant think of his name) where he had the job of introducing Mr Cash at Glastonbury. Basically he racked his brain and went through the history and life story, not really knowing what to say. But in the end he just introduced the legend (with tears in his eyes and Cash waiting in the wings). My point really is that there will never be anyone like it again so treasure the music. Cheers.

I'm the geeky looking bloke in the white jacket behind the band. He looked at me, smiled and said "I'm so nervous". I just grinned.....
