Hi, the old "pads" or kits, in the new version are called: V1 Trance, V1 House, etc.. Just Press File/Open/ in any slot..

...In case you have already upgraded FB1.1 and now it doesn't run, same principles apply: If you don't mind losing the user kits you had previously, just delete and reinstall. Otherwise, just wait a couple of days and the new fixed update should be live.

UPDATE 1.1 has hit the AppStore! Unfortunately a small bug that slipped by prevents FB from running if you install directly over the previous version. If you don't mind discarding work saved in the previous version, just delete FB and reinstall and everything should be dandy!

If you want to keep the kits and tunes you have saved in V1.0 (that FB V1.1 will automatically import and convert), just wait a couple of days before upgrading and the new update that fixes this (v1.1.01) will be on

We are sorry could not predict the bug with iPod OS 3.1. We haven't updated yet because we had to completely redesign and restructure FingerBeat to power new features + frequent updates. Also because most users would complain if there is nothing new on the update. We will announce the update to our subscribers as soon as humanly possible + version 1.1 is tested and working properly!

Thanks for the infoo - seems like a great app - I have downloaded it to my iPod Touch 2G and have the same issue - it does start up with my Switcheasy Thumb Tacks mic plugged in, but then there is no way to get sound out. In the update, will we be able to get sound through the internal speaker with a mic plugged into the headphone port? Cheers!

Hi. Beatmaker is in version 1.3.6 and it costs 19.99$ which is very cheap considering what it does. However, when FingerBeat reaches 1.3 or 1.4 it wont cost 3.99 anymore.

If you are using cracked versions of both softwares, it means that you dont value any of the apps and you should not complain about lack of features since you did not payed for support.

Beatmaker would be good if it had a piano....But then again the term "Beatmaker" means person that only does sample based production. Xewton studio is better for me because Im a producer. I compose alotta my beats( and arrange) with Xewton and then import the Midi file to my fantom x6 when I get home for the real beat..(Because lets be honest, nobody uses these music apps for serious production ) I just use this so I can make a full song anywhere without having to lug around my expensive Fantom

Agreed...i didnt mean to sound like i was  bashing any of the apps...I was just informing the people on here who critisize and expect more than what these apps can give..They are generally used for their convienience as sketchpads until we get home (not so much for primary productions and final mixdowns)...Not to say it isn't possible..I got a placement on an MTV show using nothing more than a playstion (THE 1ST ONE) music generator.

Once you sample a sound and its stored, you can duplicate-it all around the pads.

Can you make it compatible with the iPod Touch 1st gen for those of us with external microphones? It does work (I bought it through iTunes on my PC) but I had to manually hack the installer to get it to install so I don't think it will automatically get the updates through iTunes.

An app like this is only ever as strong as the samples you put into it so yes, importing samples from other sources is important. Beatmaker makes this quite easy. I would like to see support for mp3 or other compressed formats as so much music and sound is in this format already.

This version is very affordable for anyone. And is designed to be enjoyed by anyone.

Sampling using only the microphone is surely a limitation for professionals, but it does not limit what you can create.

This allows anyone to sample anything, anytime, anywhere. without a pc, mac, cable or wireless connection, etc..
