It doesn't just account for all the loved ones we've let go, its about everyone we ever knew. I, for one, love this song for the beauty and the grace demontrated by Snow Patrol. Obviously some people are too blinded by hate to realise how wonderful love, however strong, is.

I broke up with the love of my life a few weeks ago.. It couldn't work with the distance, she needed someone to be there for her and I just couldn't be so I had to let her go. She loved this song but she couldn't see that the reason I let her go is because the relationship was doing more worse than good. Every day I wish that I didn't have to say what I did. Well, i like this song. the lyrics combined with the music are very simple and hauntingly beautiful. It's about letting go of someone so that they can be happy, but at the same time the speaker is saying it's okay to hold onto those memories.
I wish there was more music like this out there...sigh

We don't listen to this because we think its "disgustingly pathetic" or "feel sorry for ourselves". We listen because its truly a beautiful song with meaningful lyrics. It doesn't just account for all the loved ones we've let go, its about everyone we ever knew. I, for one, love this song for the beauty and the grace demontrated by Snow Patrol. Obviously some people are too blinded by hate to realise how wonderful love, however strong, is.
