you cant have two active stargates on the same planet cause the distance through "other-space"(that the wormholes tunnel thru) is so small to effectivly be the same point.
Spawn a gate so it's not in the floor (like on a prop), get the WAC Gravity Controller tool from the Q menu and tick the box for SGA Powernode, setup the node as you like with sound/key/force etc, then click the gate to automatticly place 3 nodes.
I have updated the description with the new SVN link for the WAC Gravity Controller tool.
A traveling animation is not possible in Source as the player is instantly moved to the exit gate, there is a more detailed explanation in the Stargate SVN readme file.
Ah, you die. If you enter the dialing gate and the exit gate has the iris closed you are disintegrated. If you collide with the front of the iris on the exit gate, like walk upto it, you just hit a solid prop.
@thatguywithnoname theoretically... and i'm just spitballing here but umm, would you feel disintegration? it's like an instant reduction into sub-atoms.
@arunas137 I honestly don't even remember making that comment... In the first episode they said it felt like going through a blizzard because of how cold the de-molecularization felt..
@spartan6497 Who said you'd be using a jumper? Also, keep in mind that the front half of an object doesn't come out of one side until the back half is completely in the other. Such as in SGA 1-4 "38 minutes".
@smatteringofapplause A traveling animation would be useless. Plus, in the show, it's put there just for effect. You're not whole when you're being transported through the wormhole, so you don't see shit capt'n.
Google "Stargate SVN" for the gate, and "Gravity Controller v2" for the nodes on the side. The Iris comes with the SVN, and a bit of wireing is needed to make it all work right (if you know Wiremod it's easy)

what happend to the spacegate? (and what program do you use?)
TheMPMusicRecords 1 year ago
@TheMPMusicRecords
The program is Garry's Mod, a Half-Life 2 modification on the Source Engine. The addon is the Stargate SVN (google it). GMod is $10 from Steam.
I also used an addon called a Gravity Controller for the power nodes (in description)

just out of curiocity, what happens if you hit the iris?
MarblesStudios 2 years ago
@MarblesStudios
If the player touches it, nothing happens. same with props, bullets, and explosions.
mfsinc 2 years ago
oh, ok

@mfsinc
I think he meant traveling through it, like in the show. A full explanation.

That's not what I meant. I meant what happens when you collide with the Iris mid-transit.

I know that, I'm a Stargate geek! You should be telling him. lol
smatteringofapplause 1 year ago
@mfsinc You're not actually disintegrated. If the iris is closed then you aren't re-molecularized properly, so you wouldn't feel any pain.

the kawoosh isn't happening because it detects an iris, that prevents the unstable wormhole from taking place
Cyndrakkos 3 years ago
Shouldn't the gate still give off the unstable vortex when the iris is open?
Avatarfan117 3 years ago
No you idiot, the iris blocks it.
