great tutorial for beginners - thx 4 that. I was looking for free model of soccer ball for blender. But now I can create my very own awesome, great looking, bla bla bla ball and I do not need lousy free models at all ;)
hi im a beginner and work with blender for not so long.... i have a problem ...every time i press e and want to pull the plane for a bit the plane is fixed to one of the axis... i think its just a noobproblem but
Hey, i've notice that some people would like to see the tutorial in blender 2.5. I've removed my old chanell "arabmusse" and made a new one. I also improved the tutorial(modelling in a faster way, and texturing as well), you can check it out on my channel xD
hay can you create animation for soccer ball and player? i mean football juggling, if you can do this that would be awesome. i really need help with that. Please help me with that if you can like the following example, watch this,
@TheTomTomfy Hi, you can try searching for the "How to model a soccer ball / football in Blender 2.5 " tutorial by Arabmusse. He does exactly the same thing but using 2.5.
@TheVideoMakerrr May I know which version of Blender are you using? The shortcuts for the latest version 2.57 is a little different from 2.49b. You can try this command if you are using the latest version. "Shift+Alt+ S"
@weeliano i use 2.46. I did the steps again and the second time it worked so its ok! One more question! Can i use this ball on any game or convert it into a picture?
@TheVideoMakerrr That's cool! Sure you can use it whatever way you like. To render it, you need to press the F12 button, then press F3 to save the JPEG image.
@atomofish In version 2.5beta and above, the command is Shift+Alt+S. And if you are lost for the other commands, tap the space bar (for 2.5 and above) to bring up the search window. Type in the command you want to look far and it will find it for you.
@morticiaking Go to your User Preferences under System & OpenGL, check that your Emulate Numpad button is NOT activated. That could be the reason why your CTRL + 123 is not working for Subsurf modifier levels.
Will use it to assign different colours to my objects. Yr videos help so much, will continue to use blender and create wonders. Do kp posting new modelling items :)
Hey one question: Do you know where the renders are put in? I see /tmp\ in blender but can't find it on my pc and can't chnage it because the the renders aren't where i say the should be...
It would be great if you'd answer me... GREAT tutorial!!!
@iJammer8 You can actually specify where you want to put the images. In the Buttons panel below, Press F10 to access the Render Settings. On the extreme left there's a sub panel called the Output and just below you will see 2 folder icons specifying the directories for rendered image and back buffer image locations. Click on the top folder icon, a new File Browser will pop out and you can specify the render directory, but you must click on the "Select output pictures" to fix the new location.
@weeliano That's my problem :/ I try that, but the renders don't appear where I say they should be... I close Blender and start it up again and there's 'tmp' again and no sign of what I typed. I can't even find 'tmp' so i don't know where my renders are.
It would be great if this could be fixed because it's really frustrating.
@JJIML1 You can check out the video by "squirc". He uses Maya, but the concepts are exactly the same. To bring in an image for reference, I suggest you watch my Bishop Chess Piece tutorial
do u have any tutorial on controlling multi cameras in blender game . some thing like 2 cameras in a game that change in a button from one camera to another camera with out using any python script. plz help
Hi Ikhan079, thanks for watching my tutorial. For a Mars Rover, try to break everything down to basic shapes, like the main body as a box, the wheels as a cylinder and the armatures as boxes or cylinders. Slowly build up from there. Take it slow and easy and don't try to rush to finish it. You will learn more this way.
hey thanks for the reply. it was really nice working with that. Do you have any example of the Rover. its a lot of confusion with me some time with rendering i use some colours or pic which is not working :(. i hope u will have some example of making some thing like that. thanks for the reply. and i will be waiting for another reply
Great tutorial. 5 stars. I am taking a computer animation class that uses blender and we have our final project due this Thursday. I used this tutorial for the soccer that will be used for my final project.
I will reply to this video and post the outcome of the project.
Thanks for the tutorial redux with the dialog descriptions! I think I tried to do that other one before but your revision was a lot easier to understand!
It is indeed a great tutorial. A soccer ball is one of those objects I'd have to loose an endless time figuring out how the hell I could give it that shape.
:D
That, and the very clear explanation you give, is what makes this tutorial so great and useful.
When I get to 1:25 Instead of it being blank, pink little dots come up, and wont let me select the points..... Now what? Or how to I get them to go away?
Try pressing "A" a couple of times to select and deselect the points first. Unselected points are pink in colour. Also check that you are in Point selection mode and not edge of faces mode. In Edit mode, press this combination Shift + Tab and choose the Vertice option.
