  • great tutorial for beginners - thx 4 that. I was looking for free model of soccer ball for blender. But now I can create my very own awesome, great looking, bla bla bla ball and I do not need lousy free models at all ;)

  • I think the soccer ball is the base for modelling

  • how to make a 3D soccer ball with blender

  • SHIFT + ALT + S --- > for Blender 2.5 ... I was searching this 10 minutes :)

this is CTRL + SHIFT + S from the movie :)

  • i realy like this guy making tutorials.... he's like a pro teacher that gives so much detail..

  • Hey, i've notice that some people would like to see the tutorial in blender 2.5. I've removed my old chanell "arabmusse" and made a new one. I also improved the tutorial(modelling in a faster way, and texturing as well), you can check it out on my channel xD

  • hay can you create animation for soccer ball and player? i mean football juggling, if you can do this that would be awesome. i really need help with that. Please help me with that if you can like the following example, watch this,

  • Thanks

  • how do u ctr num tab in blender 2.5?? can any one help asap quick

  • thanks, but its way hard even with this tut i think ill just stick with 2D- pivot animation :D

  • HEY IS THIS THE SAME WITH BLENDER 3D?

  • @tomazm9 This tutorial is for Blender 2.49b, you will need to change some steps if you are using Blender 2.5 and above.

  • duh assiaaannn

  • 5:05 where is that button on blender 2.5 and above? I can't continue without it

  • @TheTomTomfy Hi, you can try searching for the "How to model a soccer ball / football in Blender 2.5 " tutorial by Arabmusse. He does exactly the same thing but using 2.5.

  • @weeliano thank you

  • when i press Ctrl+Shift+S the ball becomes half and remains the same as before

  • @TheVideoMakerrr May I know which version of Blender are you using? The shortcuts for the latest version 2.57 is a little different from 2.49b. You can try this command if you are using the latest version. "Shift+Alt+ S"

  • @weeliano i am using 2.46 but its ok! i did this again and the second time it worked!

  • @weeliano i use 2.46. I did the steps again and the second time it worked so its ok! One more question! Can i use this ball on any game or convert it into a picture?

  • @TheVideoMakerrr That's cool! Sure you can use it whatever way you like. To render it, you need to press the F12 button, then press F3 to save the JPEG image.

  • @weeliano ok thx! i saved it but the quality isnt so good...!

  • very nice!

  • That felt quite easy for a beginner like me. Thankies!

  • When I press Ctrl + Shift + S, all it does is go into the Save Files. Though I am using the most recent version of Blender. So what do I do?

  • @atomofish In version 2.5beta and above, the command is Shift+Alt+S. And if you are lost for the other commands, tap the space bar (for 2.5 and above) to bring up the search window. Type in the command you want to look far and it will find it for you.

  • @weeliano

    Got it. Thanks.

  • When I press Ctrl+Shift+S it seems to go the wrong way. Deflates instead of inflating. (Thanks for tuts, they're all awesome).

  • more thank you :]

  • i ruv yuh yuh help me vewy mach

  • THANK YOU! all I needed was how to change the color of particular faces but you showed me THANK YOU!!!!!

  • @ReachWonders You are most welcome!

  • Great tutorial.

  • this was very helpful THX

  • awesome thank you

  • Wht if control+1 after smoothing is not working. i press ctrl+1 to adjust to add subsur, bt it went into different view instead.

  • @morticiaking Go to your User Preferences under System & OpenGL, check that your Emulate Numpad button is NOT activated. That could be the reason why your CTRL + 123 is not working for Subsurf modifier levels.

  • This is so cool!

Will use it to assign different colours to my objects. Yr videos help so much, will continue to use blender and create wonders. Do kp posting new modelling items :)

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you so much, although I am not making a soccer ball, this helped so much!

  • @Arbiter617 You're most welcome! Do check out my other Blender Tutorials and keep on Blendering!

  • Hey one question: Do you know where the renders are put in? I see /tmp\ in blender but can't find it on my pc and can't chnage it because the the renders aren't where i say the should be...

It would be great if you'd answer me... GREAT tutorial!!!

    Thanks.

  • @iJammer8 You can actually specify where you want to put the images. In the Buttons panel below, Press F10 to access the Render Settings. On the extreme left there's a sub panel called the Output and just below you will see 2 folder icons specifying the directories for rendered image and back buffer image locations. Click on the top folder icon, a new File Browser will pop out and you can specify the render directory, but you must click on the "Select output pictures" to fix the new location.

  • @weeliano That's my problem :/ I try that, but the renders don't appear where I say they should be... I close Blender and start it up again and there's 'tmp' again and no sign of what I typed. I can't even find 'tmp' so i don't know where my renders are.

It would be great if this could be fixed because it's really frustrating.

    Thanks in advance.

  • great tut and u can see all operation is a rowmodell of tutuorial

  • Hey, really awsome tutorial! If it is possible, can you please make a tutorial on how to create a 3d hand in Blender? Thanks!:)

  • @JJIML1 You can check out the video by "squirc". He uses Maya, but the concepts are exactly the same. To bring in an image for reference, I suggest you watch my Bishop Chess Piece tutorial

  • @weeliano Thanks!

  • hi can u make eeffect from terminator when t1000 comes off the floor ?

  • @jordanjsn That will involve using Blend shapes. I'll have to think about that one.

  • hey

do u have any tutorial on controlling multi cameras in blender game . some thing like 2 cameras in a game that change in a button from one camera to another camera with out using any python script. plz help

  • @ikhan079

He only has 32 uploads dude, you could browse through them to search for your info.

  • hi

its really helpful. can you give me some steps in creating a Mars Rover. with a nice surface.

  • Hi Ikhan079, thanks for watching my tutorial. For a Mars Rover, try to break everything down to basic shapes, like the main body as a box, the wheels as a cylinder and the armatures as boxes or cylinders. Slowly build up from there. Take it slow and easy and don't try to rush to finish it. You will learn more this way.

  • hey thanks for the reply. it was really nice working with that. Do you have any example of the Rover. its a lot of confusion with me some time with rendering i use some colours or pic which is not working :(. i hope u will have some example of making some thing like that. thanks for the reply. and i will be waiting for another reply

  • Thank you very much for putting this up.

  • Excellent tutorial this is the best i ever saw

I just finished my soccer ball after restarting it 7 times

    Thaks for all

  • @14fedex

That's great! You are on your way, repetition always helps memory retention. I had to do this tutorial multiple times before I figured it out.

  • Great tutorial. 5 stars. I am taking a computer animation class that uses blender and we have our final project due this Thursday. I used this tutorial for the soccer that will be used for my final project.

I will reply to this video and post the outcome of the project.

    thank you

  • Thanks for the tutorial redux with the dialog descriptions! I think I tried to do that other one before but your revision was a lot easier to understand!

  • You are most welcome!

  • My first day on Blender, this is the best tutorial I've found.

  • Thank you for your kind endorsement! Keep on Blendering!

  • It is indeed a great tutorial. A soccer ball is one of those objects I'd have to loose an endless time figuring out how the hell I could give it that shape.

    :D

That, and the very clear explanation you give, is what makes this tutorial so great and useful.

    Thx very much.

  • You're welcome and thanks for your kind compliment! But I have to share the credit with "Wangdaxianren" who figured this out originally.

  • When I get to 1:25 Instead of it being blank, pink little dots come up, and wont let me select the points..... Now what? Or how to I get them to go away?

  • Try pressing "A" a couple of times to select and deselect the points first. Unselected points are pink in colour. Also check that you are in Point selection mode and not edge of faces mode. In Edit mode, press this combination Shift + Tab and choose the Vertice option.

  • Just finished my second football. I'm going to do a few until I don't have to refer back to the video for anthing.

    Great tutorial. They look awesome.

  • very nice, but you could also just make a sphere and normal map it and it will look the same

  • Great tutorial man, Any chance you could add a second part showing how to animate it bouncing towards the camera from a short distance??
