Most of you (including the reporters) are reading into this. The dog is obviously just traumatized and scared from the whole experience and is staying close to his friend for comfort. Or they may both belong to the same owner or from the same neighborhood. Why do people always do this with animals? Interpreting their behavior from a solely human perspective. I'm not saying dogs don't have feelings; they are just loyal by nature.

@Fawkon Well, if you happen to live in the US Moose, you'd know that Red Cross does NOT allow animials in their shelters, even AFTER Katrina. Thanks to each state forming Animal Response teams that will set up separate shelters to keep tragedies from happening so that folks will be able to have their animals with them or at least at a safe place. US American Red Cross is the brutish ones...duh!
