  • ah... wonderful things before i was born...

  • You know what i have notice is that have been hearing this same narrator voice for for almost all the Lexus and other cars company.

  • BMW & mercedes & Audi only

  • One word "perfection" my 1st car my 2nd car was a crown vic would trade this car in new shape any day.

  • Everything about this car is smooth, quiet and comfortable. You get the best of both worlds - supreme luxury (adds significant weight) and performance (32 valve, quad-cam V8 can handle anything)!

  • If I have kids im getting this car

  • put it this way: Lexus is different from all automakers because they can get things right on their first try. Lexus has alternated between porsche for best build quality. Porsche needed 40 more years than lexus to achieve that.... They got the LS 400 right back in the '90s, and now, with their LF-A supercar, they can beat lamborghini-class exotics. And that's their first try........

  • @YiJustin558 You forgot the flop that was the Lexus ES250: a rebadged Toyota that gave dealerships something to sell alongside the flagship until the real ES300 came out. The GS300 didn't sell well. And the Altezza BMW 3er competitor that didn't come with a manual transmission with the 3.0 L engine. Lexus isn't about firsts; it's about finding what other luxury manufacturers did well, and hitting all of those points. Lexus was extremely conservative during the late '90s as a result.

  • a Classic ad!

  • The worse Lexus owners are Africans. Lexus cars are luxury cars, not prairie wagons with those over sized wheels like most of them use. For those Africans that drive without the large wheels, at least try to behave like a high class person while driving a Lexus, even though your genetics and culture can never allow you to be truly high class. For example, stop tailgating other drivers at 70mi/h, and stop honking drivers at stop signs or those stopping for pedestrians at the crossings.

  • @TakadaMiyazaki i agrre with you, but who the fuck are you to tell people that you are high calss and they aren't

driving a damn car will not make you A HIGH CLASS! , the way you talk the way you deal with the others, and the way you look at the others what makes you a high class!.

1 word for you your car/ your house. will never makes you a high class.

  • There are some problems. First, it's your grammar, which is insanely atrocious that it's funny in a stupid way. Second, your idiocy tells me that I am in no position to say whether or not people are high class, yet you to tell me what doesn't make me high class. You're doing exactly what you told me not to do. Third, you seem angry with my comment! Looks like I pissed you off - Yay! Consider adding a turbo to your brain that displaces too little space inside your skull (Get it?).

  • @GoodyearBandit :D, well i hope you get educated, and hope my comment inspired you.

i would leave the turbo for you. because i am naturally aspirated.

    punk

  • i wish i had one of these to have al my love very nice cars back in that year perfect

  • Lexus coupe for me. SC400 they were the shit back in the day.

  • Best Car Ever ! :)

  • i still have my 1st car 1989 LEXUS LS 400 its a beauty.. 22 years still running smooth

  • OMG i remember this commercial! I was in awe over the glasses on the hood. Funny thing is, these cars are just as good and smooth 22 years later. Can't say that about a Cadillac. My favorite Lexus was the 1992 ES 300

  • how much would that have been worth brand new?

  • @niloh96 in 1990 the LS400 base price of US$35,000

  • @luvmyPT92ss I believe at launch in 1989 the price was USD38000.00. I cannot see that it was USD35000.00 a year later, considering it was introduced to compete against the Merc S-Class (420) and BMW 7 Series(735i) undercutting these by between USD 20 000.00 to USD30 000.00.

I may be wrong....but your price seems too low.

  • @monk3yboy69 but they start to ship the Ls400 to the state on dec so its 1990 there no 1989 Ls400 here in the state

  • @luvmyPT92ss September 1990, you are correct. As I say, the price was USD38000.00, not USD35000.00

I have checked the figures and they are correct. The car was launched to the North American market in January 1989, but officially went on sale Sept 1990.

  • Toyotas are good.

  • even though Lexus still continues to make Excelent Vehicles my Favorite cars made by them are the LS,ES and GS of the First and Second Generation.

  • I want to test this and see if it still applies. Seeing as though my brother's '93 is still smooth as glass, I don't expect any surprises :)

  • Still Great Today

  • I still enjoy my 1990 LS 400, still a fantastic car 22 years later.

  • i would like to see the following video after the car stops accelerating...

  • Is it me? Or is Toyota's old commercials better? & make more sense? Cause Toyota's new ads are very insulting, have you see the Highlander ad?

  • I am loving my ES300! Engine is smooth as silk with a pleasing muted growl!

  • I remember this commercial!

    That is one. Ugly. Car.

God bless the evolution of Lexus design. While I'm no superfan of the brand, there are some nice designs in the lineup right now. That beast is a big 1980s nightmare. What an ugly pig...

  • lol 1 dislike.... that was not me.

  • The car that tore up the rule book

  • I want to get an ls and do a 2jz (twin turbo supra motor) swap into it!!!!

  • iهـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــذي

  • Wow, I clearly remember watching this commercial for the first time back in '89! Where has the time gone???

  • @m3trooper Partying

  • @SudiArabia haha. Exactly!

  • why do you have 1989 up there whats with that

  • @KONGZILLAGOD1 1989 is the year this commercial came out, and 1989 is the model year for this Lexus, which was the first Lexus.

  • I had a 94 LS someone ran into me and it got wrote off. I got a 97 LS with 486,000km and it still purrs like a kitten.

  • i own a 92 for 2 years had a 91 for another 2 years its a awsome car comfy fast quiet cheap on gas and rarely breaks down, best car ever!

Only thing i would say is get a 94+ for better braking power and brake lifespan.

  • the 1990's Lexus Cars were the Best...

Today they look so Similar....too much alike.

  • cheers...thanks for the info. Now the search to find it!

  • does anyone know who composed the music in this ad?

  • @MisterMayne Music by: Piece of Cake

  • Comment removed

  • Toyota & Lexus use to be a legendary cars in the 80's & 90's )':

but now, every Toyota and Lexus are shit boxes, including the LS 460 (Lexus Flagship)

  • @MrOhcock It's actually because you want to believe your own words... The question is, although you say that, there is NOT a single car more reliable than TOYOTA or LEXUS :)

  • no doubt it is a nice car

  • iv been looking for this video for a very very long time, thaNnk you so much for posting it!!!

  • The best car ever created!!!!!!!!

  • @JaguarLexusCentral I seriously think that this is going to be my next car used!

  • @Dicklle34 Do it!!!!!! Trust me I have this car so I know.

  • @JaguarLexusCentral Yea, I know someone as well with it, and I know it rides smooth and with good acceleration!

  • @Dicklle34

Same here. I'm thinking of getting a '93.

  • @the1337priest Definitely go for it if you can find one that isn't in bad condition and with lower than 130,000 miles on it.
