Actually, Sol and Ky are NOT the most powerful characters in GG, though they're both solid. The big 3, in order, are Eddie, Testament, and Slayer. But the tiers in GG are much closer, and most of the bad matchups are tier independent, i.e. one of the worst can be hell on one of the best. And GG is generally much more intricate than SF, with a much wider range of moves which are more suited to specific uses. Which is why general AI not well tailored for GG characters doesn't work worth crap.
Actually, in Guilty Gear story, Sol is far more powerful than Testament and Eddie, he was able even to defeat Dizzy when she was possessed by Necro, and considering that he never goes all out in a fight we can conclude that he is on the Top 3. Considering the Playable carachters, the Top 3 would be
1st:Slayer(He is immortal, and never fights serious)
2nd:Sol Badguy
3rd:Justice
If you were talking about the strongest in gameplay, then it depends on the person who is playing
ACTUALLY, gameplay wise, characters aren't created equal. That's the nature of fighters. While most of the time, the player determines the winner, once the players get to the level of mastering every intricacy of their character,it becomes apparent some are better then others. Hence, tiers.
Of course from what I heard, GG is pretty good with it's balance.

If Ky and Sol had non-noob AI and their damage output was normalized (they barley hit and if they did it was 30% of kyo and ryu's health) it'd be an amazing match
better use Eddy(zatto1) and Axl Low it will be real masacre eddy can block and do magick atack and axl trick with his chain scythes from range and dream team just unbeatable :D
somebody needs to work on the AI for Ky and Sol. Ky kept randomly dusting for no reason and standing around not attacking as well. They fight nothing like they do in guilty gear. If you were using the same AI from the games, Kyo and Ryu never would have stood a chance. the guilty gear AI is so ridiculously cheap its not funny.
Those AIs were horrible. GG characters have more depths and features then most games and for people who say it's called cheating to use swords. PLEASE every fighter has thier own fighting style, and can kill each other just with hands also. Saying swords aren't fair when fighting martial artists, is the samething as saying martial artists can't use techinques in a street fist fight, respect a person fighting style cause they all have thier ups and downs.

Well let's just look at this match. Kyo/Ryu were dropping supers a dime a dozen, where as Ky/Sol were lucky to use 3 combined over an entire round. This was a poorly set up fight.
Anybody who knows how GG CPU works know just how bad these CPU are. Sol VV's on wake-up if your too close and Ky has invicibilty on some of his attacks. Not too mention the spammibility of GG chars...
Guilty Gear and SNK games rock, capcom, not so much in my opinion. In street fighter so mnay characters are exactly the same, I know that there are differences between Ken and Ryu and Akuma, even if their move set is the same, but why god, did they all have to have the EXACT SAME MOVE SET, ugh, that just pissed me off. Especially since just about every character has that gravity-defying spin kick. I like KOF because even though it has like three times the character choice the were all unique.

I love how they use an outdated version of Ky. I mean, Vapor Thrust which doesn't even lead to a knockdown. And GG team lost because they're computer controlled. Humans can beat them out easily. This video, unfortunately, is not a good way to measure which of the two are better.

Its more like game engine, people are adding sounds, characters, backgrounds etc. base version has only one character and one simple bg. Google for mugen youll find lots of pages with stuff for this.

It's hilarious that the guilty gear characters just stood around and even taunted while the SNKvCapcom characters were freaking out, running back and forth trying their hardest. Honestly, if it were a direct port of Ky and Sol, with someone who knew at least as much about them as the people who played Ryu and Kyo knew about their characters playing them, this would have been a slaughter. Capcom and SNK characters simply cannot stand up to Guilty Gear characters, in general.

dude this a program called mugen u can download this thing anywhere i suggest u google it. it takes sum work but its totally cool. i m tryin to find this exact screenpack cause mine keeps freezin da mugen program when ever it reaches 136 characters lol im a geek

Why the hell didn't Capcom and SNK yet make new 2D fighting games (Street Fighter, King of Fighters, etc.) with Guilty Gear's graphics technology? I ask this because Guilty Gear has much better graphics by looking more anime-like than the pixilated Street Fighter and King of Fighter games. What's Up?

actually they are making a re-work of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Puzzle Fighter with sprites that have twice the resolution of the Guilty Gear. To be released in HD 1080p. PS3, XB360 and PC.
