  • Toscanini Said. "Sing through your instrument". I am a singer myself and understand what he meant. I try to use a vocal vibrato. Broad and as rich as I can. I hate vocalists who have a billy goat vibrato. Also instrumentalists. Moyse was an incredible player and influence generations during and after his live. So..what am I doing being critical of him? Stepping in it. As I listen again I hear it a little differently. The focus of sound is amazing. Merci for your comment. Pardon my French.:-)

  • Lovely deep tone.

  • This is my favorite recording of this piece ! Great to hear it again.

  • His vibrato turns me off. I know, I know, he's God of the flute but, I still can get use to his billy goat vibrato. And he writes that vibrato can cover up intonation problems. I think he finishes many of his phrases by going flat. Shot me.

  • @kfcohea Good comment. I wonder how he would sound in an earthquake (!). He still has some special moments. Each player seems to have her/his own vibrato-thing going on ... some sounds good, and others a little gauche. (Excuse my french).

  • Perfect Contralto voice. Superb control of the vibrato.

  • Quand même étonnant ce vibrato. On entend clairement les notes par moment pas vraiment juste mais ça se finit toujours bien. Ca donne un charme certain mais c'est sur qu'on peut plus vraiment jouer comme ça maintenant.
