  • I am late, but I am gonna post anyway. Hell yes I would buy that for my daughter (or son if so be it). Girls are gonna pretend to breastfeed as is if their mothers are doing it. For instance my little cousin (age 3) held a monkey up to her chest, and when asked what she was doing responded with "Shhh, the baby's eating." It was so cute and innocent, not to mention inspiring.

  • I breastfed my daughter. She is 3 now and when she plays with her plain, old, un-mechanical doll - she nurses it. She also changes it's diaper, burps it and comforts it while it crys. Dolly cost $5, imagination priceless.

  • I'm 15, and even I know that honestly, breastfeeding is natural and it's definitely the way to go. There's certainly nothing wrong with that doll!

  • children should definitely learn that breastfeeding is normal!

  • I honestly wouldn't mind buying the doll for my daughter. I think it seems weird because a doll like this is uncommon. Think about it, though. All little girls see are baby dolls that come with bottles. Even if she sees someone breastfeeding their child, she always plays by bottle feeding. I would think that would help cement the idea that bottle feeding is the more natural way of feeding a baby. I like the idea of there being an option out there that shows bfing as something that isn't weird.

  • With both my pregnancies my mouth would water for pepsi & coke slushies! I didn't have nay weird cravings with my daughter but with this pregnancy I want bbq sauce on baked potatoes! In fact I want bbq sauce and ranch dressing on everything lol

  • If the breastfeeding doll ever gets pull, the ones with formula should get pulled. It's up to the parents to say if it's right for their children or not.

  • Idk if I would buy a breastfeeding doll necessarily, especially since they're just gonna breastfeed their other toys anyway. Lol.

  • If my daughter asked for it sure I would get for her. But, like many people posted, why would a child need a special doll to nurse? Any child can play nurse with their babies. Breast feeding is natural!!

  • My daughter pretended to nurse her babies all the time! She doesn't need a special doll for it! :-)

  • I breast feed because it's the best thing for children..unfortunately my mother didn't breastfeed me or my sisters and they see it as wierd! One of my sisters even said it was "perverted"... ummmm ok? I can see the wierdness in a doll that breastfeeds tho.. I also just gave birth and saw your video of your birth and it was very encouraging thanks for posting it! I told myself that I problably wasn't going to be able to do it but guess what I DID IT!!!! YAY!!!! I totally subscribed!!!

  • @tigerlilly699 Way to go, mama!!!!! Glad you are breastfeeding :). XOXO.

  • I'm all thumbs up for Breast Feeding, But I wouldn't spend 80 something or other dollars on that, for a present for my daughter (of the future) Lol.

I think monkey see monkey do for it wou b good, or just interactive child role play works too :)

I remember my neice when she was about 5 she pretened to breastfeed because she seen her mum do it with her little sister and picked that up.

When her dad came home, and asked what they did for the day, my neice replied. " I played breastfeed mommy

  • @RavenMidnight911

" I played breastfeeding mommy, with my dolly!" Her dad laughed and told her good. Lol.

  • I am all for breastfeeding, and when my daughter grows up having kids of her own she will know whats bests and want wats best, not because of a doll, but the morals and values I teach her through my life. We as parents are not just gaurdians but shepards of our sheep. If that makes any since. Our lives we live are the examples we lay out for them. I chose to breastfeed because I want my child to have the best. But the idea that was planted came from my mother, who Breastfed all my sisters.

  • @TheAKAmom Amen. I remember watching my mom's friend breastfeed and it totally stuck with me. When it came to breastfeeding Griffin, it didn't seem "weird" because I witnessed it at a young age.

  • My natural birth was the hardest thing I have ever done. BUT I did it! She was a full 9 lbs 15.7 oz. I only kicked the doctor once and punched the nurse twice ;)

  • @rockrgurl00 LOL! You are my kind of gal :). XO. Way to go!

  • Regarding the breastfeeding doll, I think it's a better alternative to Barbie or Bratz dolls that promote materialism.

  • My son is 9 months old and he still breastfeeds. I think it's the best decision I've ever made. The only time he was sick was when he had allergies that went away in less than a week when he was 5-6 months old. I applaud all mothers, breastfeeding or not. Motherhood is not a full time job, it's an ALL the time job. You never have a day off, but the smile on our children's faces is good enough to brighten up our day. We are strong women and are fearless when in comes to protecting our young ones.

  • I absolutely love this show! WTG Mama Natural! Can you make an episode every week or at least bi-weekly? Pretty Please?Anyway about the breast-feeding doll, I personally wouldn't buy it as it is not a necessary expense. I also think that if a child is exposed to breast-feeding they will naturally try it with all their dolls. I think the doll is being blown out of proportion and I would be more concerned if it contained lead rather than if it taught children a natural process.

  • @CherryAnaBeauty "I would be more concerned if it contained lead rather than if it taught children a natural process" LOL! Great point. Yes, we are hoping to do weekly. So glad you like it! It's SO MUCH fun to do... and isn't that what it's about? Episode 2 is slated for Tuesday.

  • I already love the mama natural show! And about the doll, it´s a little over the top to make a doll specifically designed to breastfeed. If a little boy or girl wants to breastfeed "just like mommy" she'll put a teddybear to her chest. It's stupid to buy a doll specifically for breastfeeding purposes. Imagination goes a long way! Besides, they sell dollies with bottles right? No one says anything about that.

  • I have a 5 year old daughter and am expecting her baby brother in 2 months. I plan to exclusively breastfeed him so we've talked with my daughter about how he'll eat so she's not confused and she seems to have grasped it since I noticed her playing with her doll and pretending to breastfeed it (no special doll required). I don't see anything wrong with the doll except for it being unnecessary since kids are going to imitate what their mothers do no matter what...batteries not required.

  • wouldn't ever let my lil.girl have that doll.

its like something from a porn shop, freakn sick minded toy makers, lol

    LET KIDS BE KIDS

my teenager looks at that doll it a different way.hahahahahaaa

  • I wouldn't buy the doll, but only because it's not a necessary expense. If you breastfeed your daughter and her siblings, she'll probably pretend to breastfeed with whatever doll or stuffed toy happens to be laying around, anyway! So who needs to sink the money into the fancy automated doll? I don't think there's anything wrong with kids playing with the concept of breastfeeding. A breast to them is just food! If I caught a teenage son playing with the doll, then I might be worried ;-).

  • @LaureninPortland "If I caught a teenage son playing with the doll, then I might be worried ;-)." LOL!

  • Loved this! My son is 8 months and I exclusively breastfeed. I understand that the manufacturer of the breastfeeding doll has good intentions, but I still find it a bit odd. I think that open communication to children about breastfeeding is a better option than a doll that demonstrates how it is done. Actually, kids shouldn't even be concerned with breastfeeding until they are older and thinking of starting a family. Let kids be kids!

  • @SAHMommy42 and @kaboomfamily Vlog "Let kids be kids" AMEN

  • I breastfed my son for as long as he wanted to. He self weaned at 4 months :( Sadly he has chronic asthma.

  • @betosrose But what a gift you gave him for those first 4 months :). XO.

  • i feel really bad where i hear stuff like if you don't breast feed your child they are going to get asthma i didn't breast feed not because i didn't want to but because i couldn't when my son was born i had really bad PreECLAMPSIA and i had to take strong medication the Dr told me that i could not breast feed while on this medication and to top it all off my son was in the NICU for 10 days i was still taking the medication a month after finally off the medication my son DID NOT taketheboob

  • @Zachsmommy2010 Hi hon, I totally hear you. Breastfed children do receive more immunities but that does NOT mean that bottle fed children are unhealthy. Not to mention that you can supplement with probiotics at a young age to boost our little ones immune system. Kudos to you for wanting and being willing to breastfed.

  • I think this idea that breastfeeding in public is like sex in public shows how much a woman's body has become a commodity in society, a sex object for the pleasure of men. Breastfeeding our babies is the essential part of what our breasts are for. I think when men are bothered by breastfeeding they are thinking a woman's body is for their sexual pleasure. I breastfed both of my babies and it was the sweetest love, I did it in public and too bad if you don't like it, it is your problem!

  • Love your show, I think we need to keep advocating for these important issues. Thank you! I love the idea of a breastfeeding baby doll for our children. It is wonderful and wholesome. How can our society think something is wrong with this sweet doll when the Barbie doll is out there. Barbie is created by male corporate America fifty years ago, a doll that looks like a Playboy Bunny made in the image of a male fantasy for our little girls!!! What is wrong with these crazy Fox News people!

  • I love this! Keep it up!

I have a daughter and when we have our next child and she sees me breastfeeding, i will explain to her what im doing and if she wants to copy on her doll i would not mind at all! i would think it was sweet and that she was learning about the most natural way to feed a baby.

  • Why is breastfeeding such an issue for so many people? Can't the babies be fed in public? Disgusting is to see people smoking in public, for instance.

  • Like the show! Informative...the doll is okay but I wouldn't purchase for a child...I think this can be talked about LaTeR on in life!!

  • Walmarts in food deserts are not the answer! Building capacity to grow food locally in these communities and partnering with local farmers gets communities invested in their own health (especially in a rich agricultural area like California). Each Walmart usually comes with it's own McDonalds, which is the last thing we need in these urban centres. It's unlikely that people will be clamouring for the organic veggies, when the cheap fast food is still presented as an option.

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!! Definitely keep the mamanatural show going :))

  • I "breastfed" my baby and I was not a breastfed child. Furthermore, when us kids played house the 'mom' would always breastfeed the 'baby' which was always one of us, not a doll. Weird? Probably, very age appropriate though.

  • . Breastfeeding is a basic natural necessity for life survival and is appropriate for every age level to see on a cognitive level. It should not be abnormal for a child to know how an infant is fed, nor should it be considered sexual and therefore inappropriate. Just because my toddler eats with his hands doesn't make it indecent, and just because my infant eats the most basic and best nourishment for him doesn't make it indecent. It makes you an ignorant ass for taking something natural for su

  • On the making love comment, there is a difference between public indecency and public decency. Reproduction is natural, yes. It is not publicly decent to reproduce (or make love to, choose your terminology here) in front of others because the act of reproducing in most cases is for pleasure and because it is not something cognitively appropriate for every age level to see. Breastfeeding is a basic natural necessity for life survival and is appropriate for every age level to see on a cognitive l

  • I wouldn't buy it but not because it's inappropriate, because I refuse to spend such an insane amount on a doll that my child will do the same things with as with a run of the mill doll. From a child development standpoint, the dolls concept is wonderful. It teaches the child about their body, helps image issues and helps to guide a child into understanding what a mother is doing out in public should they not have a younger sibling that mom breastfed. All this being said, I "breastfed" my baby

  • What does it mean by miranda "left her body"??

  • Nothing wrong with the doll. I wouldn't buy it, but only because my daughter breastfeeds her dolls anyways... she doesn't need a specifically designed doll just to pretend she's breastfeeding! Great new video series!!! And as far as breastfeeding in public... I don't know, its not a big deal to me, I believe in modesty. Its not so much about the baby eating as it is about women having their breasts exposed. But if the mom isn't bearing all then it shouldn't be a big deal.

  • I don't think there needs to be a special doll specifically for it. I have many friends with a toddler and an infant, and the child [yes, child, boys and girls] observed what their mother did with their young sibling and played it out on normal non-animated dolls. Leading by example should be enough to show children the benefits. I think they had a good idea, but went at it in the wrong direction.

  • My daughter breastfeeds all her babies, so I wouldn't necessarily buy this particular doll. I am tired of having to throw out the stupid bottles which come with every other doll on the market, so it is nice to see one that comes without one to begin with.

  • I would definately buy the doll. I really dislike how our brains are imprinted with the image of babies eating via bottle from the time we are born. From my experience, when I told people I was breastfeeding they were like "oh!!! good for you!!!" like it was such an accomplishment...In think it was just natural and everyone should ASSUME a mother breastfeeds her child instead of making it seem as if it is a nice suprise when they first find out.

  • I would but because my neices 'breastfeed' their babys anyway and so does my nephew, I know its expensive that put me off

  • Love this!! Please make more episodes!! Mama Natural rocks!!

  • The only reason I wouldn't buy the doll is that it's ridiculously expensive. Otherwise, sure I would if she wanted it :) if I had a daughter, she'd probably end up pretending to breastfeed her dolls anyway because I wouldn't buy the ones that came with bottles and I'd tell her why!

  • @becca122181 Good point on the baby dolls with bottles. Didn't even think of that!

  • YOU SHOULD TOTALLY BECOME A TV PRESENTER!

you looked like a real professional doing this.

you should keep making these awesome videos :D

  • @LaurenandtheCrew Aw, thanks :)>. XO.

  • Oh, and about the doll, I would have no problem with letting my child play with it if I had a girl. But I guess that Scandinavians generally have a more relaxed take on breastfeeding. It is completely acceptable to breastfeed at a restaurant and there are great changing and breastfeeding-facilities at every mall here in Denmark so that there's a quit place available if needed.

  • Love it, love it, LOVE IT. Please Make more episodes of this show !

  • @flo538 Thank you and will do :)!

  • Awesome show, btw. Keep going!

  • The doll is creepy. Nuff said.

  • @kittenfetus666 LOL! It was a bit much for me too.

  • I don't think I would buy the doll for my daughter. She will hopefully learn by example and common sense. It's a good idea, but a waste of money. In the end it is just a doll.

  • Cute idea. I love your "backdrop1"

  • @katulka2 Thanks! I endured mosquito bites for that one :).

  • I love it! more please! I love miranda kerr shes awesome!! and about the doll i dunno, I think a regular doll could also work, my mom said she saw me pretend breastfeed my baby doll once but i wasnt even a breastfed child, it just seemed natural to me to do that i guess. lol i think young girls may start pretending with their normal dolls any way with all the natural mommas out there, so who needs to pay an extra 20 for a doll that makes sucking noises and a special bra?

  • Love love love the show! I'm not sure if I would buy the doll for my child... but if you think about it, its the same as dolls that come with bottles. I'm disgusted that people are so uncomfortable with bf-ing in public. I want to ask them if they are disgusted by adults eating in public because that is all babies are doing.

  • @tnrkustoms Great point about the eating in public. Adults do it... so should babies... in peace.

  • @tnrkustoms only in the U.S people are uncomfortable breasfeeding. Come to Turkey-you wıll see everyone bf ın the publıc-ıt's such a normal thing.

  • Keep the videos coming!

Love for you to also do a video on cloth wipes to go with the one on cloth diapers!

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • LOVED THIS! Keep them coming!

  • Glad to see another one of your videos. Keep up the good work! I would not buy the doll. Little girls that see their mothers breast feed are gng to mimic her by putting the doll to her chest. The imagination of the child will kick in and the noises from a mechanical chest plate would not be needed.

  • @sweetlilella1983 I like the notion of kids using their imagination too.

  • No, I wouldn't Buy the Doll. My 7 year old niece stumbled upon me breasfeeding my Newborn a little while back and even tho she had never seen anything like this before, she knew exactly what was going on...

  • Nize! Keep on the good Work! Thanx =)

  • Umm no I wouldn't buy this for my daughter. I do not think that children need to know everything about life at a young age.

  • i think that there is nothing wrong with the doll...and if people don´t like it, they dont have to buy it. its a sticky subject because the breast is sexual/ and nurturing. the reason people react to it as something disgusting that shouldn´t be shown is because of the emphasis that has been placed on the sexual side of the breast ... we are out of balance

  • @importedmama "we are out of balance" AMEN!

  • i my mom said when i was 3 i would take my baby doll and pretend to breastfeed ^_^ the doll is stupid

  • I also think its probably harder for a male to see bf as non sexual, because men typically equate breasts to sex and sexual thoughts. Im not saying ALL guys do this, but I think the breast is definately a sex symbol. Because they have never experienced the act of breastfeeding a child, its probably more difficult for some of them to understand. Not that that makes it okay for them to try and stop women from doing it, but I could see why theyd be a bit more uncomfortable about it.

  • @mamaatheart I TOTALLY AGREE WELL WRITTEN

  • dont see a problem with the breastfeeding doll. I wouldnt have a problem buying it for my daughter if I ever have one. Id also buy her the play baby bottles so she could have a variety of choices about how to feed her doll. :) It is a little strange to see a 6 year old girl in the add holding the doll up to her chest, but thats real life. I would never compare breastfeeding in public to sex, because I did bf for a year, and it was NOT a sexual thing at all.
