if you actually listen to the studio version, the majority of what he's playing here IS the guitar part. he's playing it entirely accurately. it's meant to sound like that. admittedly the studio guitar part is pretty uneventful but he isn't "f***ing it up" live.

You can't sound as good live as on the record. I mean they're humans not robots, they're partying and drinking all the time so of course they're not at their best on stage. I think it's normal. Plus It's really hard to sing a song live and it will never be as well as the record.

i think they have awesome, i mean awesome fashion sense. but seriously, some of the singing in this recording, and many of the early live shows, are just terrible. luckily, they have lifted their game and cleaned up their act as now they are extremely better.

also, the bass player totally ruins the band's image. although he does hit the high notes.

Of course they're not going to as sing great live. You're touring around in a bus for months, drinking, smoking, drugs, partying, gig after gig, festival after festival. They're not going to sound just like the record which they had many takes and some editing and had time to rest their voices and then do proper warm-ups.
