The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love & mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife? God will still judge but He will not punish forever. He's a better father than we are, right?

1st death is the grave. Nothing goes on in the grave. You sleep, maybe you dream, about future punishment. Bible says you know nothing while you are in the grave, waiting for the resurrection.

Mostly Dr. Walter Veith and David Assterick, & this guy Doug. They are true disciples of God. As Doug, and Dr. Veith says, there are true disciples of God in every denomination. @Popinion7 There are tons of video's about hell here. I watched a few, most are very entertaining. Some are downright frightening, I am glad I know Jesus! I know there are scores of people who have had near death experiences, who have had visions of hell, so real they swore they were there. In a lot of cases it changed their lives.
@Popinion7 In the Greek, (Revelations I believe was originally in Greek) I think HE was using the Greek equivalent of "Hell" as meaning the grave. If you read it that way it makes sense, Death & the Grave are cast into the lake of fire. In the Hebrew there were a lot of places where they used the Hebrew equivalent of word "Hades" or "Sheol" meaning the grave, but when it was translated it was written as "Hell" So there has always been some confusion there, in the language.
@RudeAwakning Hades, Sheol, and Hell are actually supposed to be 3 seperate places. One is the grave, the hole in the ground where the physical body goes. The second is the place with God where the person's spirit goes to await the resurrection. & the third is the lake of fire, where both spirit and body of the wicked, are to be consumed after the judgement. I am not certain, but I THINK Hades is the grave, Sheol is the place for the spirit to await resurrection, & Hell is the lake of fire.
@Popinion7 Here it is saying that death and the grave will be cast into the lake of fire. It is symbolic, it means after the Judgement, there will be no more death, no more need for graves. All unrighteousness will be brought to a final end. And all that stands in the end with God (the saints) will be there for eternity! And HE will give to them, to eat of the tree of life. In Genesis HE put angels to guard the tree of life. In end, it will be for HIS saints only, to eat it & have eternal life.

@Popinion7 No actually I think these people who have near death experiences are actually given a vision of what their judgement might be if they were to actually die at that time, so when they are brought back, or given a "2nd chance" so to speak! They remember it so they can testify to it. But judgement day hasn't occurred yet so no one is in the lake of fire now. No one actually gets punished till after judgement day.

Each person "will be judged according to their works", thus determining the length of punishment. Hell is a real place! There are countless accounts of people that were pronounced dead, who experienced different kinds of hell. none of them were sleep in their bodies waiting judgement. Jesus made it clear that spoke about hell many times and yet people do not believe. I ask the Lord to reveal His word to me as i read it and to give me the discernment.
Hell is also described as a dark and dingy dungeon in at least 2 places in The Bible. When Jesus died on the cross He went to the bowels of the Earth to preach to the spirits in prison (Hell) who were awaiting judgment. This meant all who had dies before His first coming had the opportunity to be saved. The lake of fire is a literal place at the second coming. It is the Dead Sea filled with lava.

It is sad to see that some believers still read the bible and lack discernment and understanding. Jesus never used hell as a metaphor but a real physical place. There acually is a different meaning to Luke 16:23, but teachers of hell fire love to use this as proof. But most people are not aware of it's true meaning. If we are to take it literaly then that would mean people in a paradise can have converstions with people in a pit of fire. It would also mean that people in fire can still have a conversation. If you were in a pit of fire would you be talking or screaming?
The old testament said that the dead are concious of nothing. How could people live on after death before Jesus himself defeated death? And Jesus taught that the PERSON was the soul. The bible also made it clear that nobody goes to heaven untill the resurrection when Jesus returns.

Mostly Dr. Walter Veith and David Assterick, & this guy Doug. They are true disciples of God. As Doug, and Dr. Veith says, there are true disciples of God in every denomination. And the same seems true about teachers. I go where God's spirit leads me. If I start to listen to something that is wrong, God's spirit leads me away. Or gives me words to speak

I know there are scores of people who have had near death experiences, who have had visions of hell, so real they swore they were there. In a lot of cases it changed their lives.

@Popinion7 In the Greek, (Revelations I believe was originally in Greek) I think HE was using the Greek equivalent of "Hell" as meaning the grave. If you read it that way it makes sense, Death & the Grave are cast into the lake of fire. In the Hebrew there were a lot of places where they used the Hebrew equivalent of word "Hades" or "Sheol" meaning the grave, but when it was translated it was written as "Hell" So there has always been some confusion there, in the language.

@RudeAwakning Hades, Sheol, and Hell are actually supposed to be 3 seperate places. One is the grave, the hole in the ground where the physical body goes. The second is the place with God where the person's spirit goes to await the resurrection. & the third is the lake of fire, where both spirit and body of the wicked, are to be consumed after the judgement. I am not certain, but I THINK Hades is the grave, Sheol is the place for the spirit to await resurrection, & Hell is the lake of fire.

@Popinion7 Here it is saying that death and the grave will be cast into the lake of fire. It is symbolic, it means after the Judgement, there will be no more death, no more need for graves. All unrighteousness will be brought to a final end. And all that stands in the end with God (the saints) will be there for eternity! And HE will give to them, to eat of the tree of life. In Genesis HE put angels to guard the tree of life. In end, it will be for HIS saints only, to eat it & have eternal life.

@Popinion7 No actually I think these people who have near death experiences are actually given a vision of what their judgement might be if they were to actually die at that time, so when they are brought back, or given a "2nd chance" so to speak! They remember it so they can testify to it. But judgement day hasn't occurred yet so no one is in the lake of fire now. No one actually gets punished till after judgement day.

Each person "will be judged according to their works", thus determining the length of punishment. Here are the verses I found on eternal Hell:
Matt 25:41 "Then He will say to those on His left, "Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the ETERNAL FIRE which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;"
Then it goes on to say:
Matt 25:46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
When Jesus is saying this, he is speaking of those who did not clothe Him or His children when they were naked or feed those when they were hungry. Read it for yourself.

Hell is a real place! There are countless accounts of people that were pronounced dead, who experienced different kinds of hell. none of them were sleep in their bodies waiting judgement. Jesus made it clear that spoke about hell many times and yet people do not believe. I ask the Lord to reveal His word to me as i read it and to give me the discernment.

Hell is also described as a dark and dingy dungeon in at least 2 places in The Bible. When Jesus died on the cross He went to the bowels of the Earth to preach to the spirits in prison (Hell) who were awaiting judgment. This meant all who had dies before His first coming had the opportunity to be saved. The lake of fire is a literal place at the second coming. It is the Dead Sea filled with lava.

@redsky The dead know not anything. Jesus died He did not go anywhere to speak audibly. You need to know what the dead can do and cannot do. The dead can do NOTHING, thus they are not aware of time passing, they are not aware of God preaching to them, so it must mean something else. You must look at things in context. God cannot contradict Himself, when He says that the Dead Known NOT anything, then I must believe Him. =) Look closely at John 3:16. What is the requirement for Eternal Life?

@Mekelsior In the OT which you quote, they had no understanding of hell. In fact it isn't mentioned in the OT at all. It was Jesus who taught about hell in the NT but before that it wasn't known about. Jesus did preach the gospel to those in hell. Here's the proof 1 Peter Ch 3
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison.

It is sad to see that some believers still read the bible and lack discernment and understanding. Jesus never used hell as a metaphor but a real physical place. Even in the book of revelation during the final judgement, those it was mentioned that those in hell will be judged and that will be the second death.

@chuckyoo I know. Then he had the audacity to tell me to go and read John 3 v 16 so I could understand what salvation is about! The flesh was tempted to respond swiftly to that, but The Spirit overcame the flesh and so I said nothing.

This video is a LIE. Hell is inside the Earth because THE LORD JESUS CHRIST went to Hell for 3 days and 3 nights(Matthew 12:38-41, Acts 2:31). Hell is at the center of the Earth. It has a PHYSICAL location.
Also, Revelation 14:9-11, 20:15 and Matthew 25:41-46 are clear that Hell is EVERLASTING punishment from God against the wicked--God tormenting the wicked with fire and brimestone for eternity.

@chuckyoo If you accept the Parable of the Rich man and Lazarus you also go against Jesus as the Only Mediator and Savior. Not only that you must believe in an immortal soul and thus you ignore the words of Paul declaring Jesus as the Only Immortal. You would also disregard all the verses in the Bible that speaks of the dead that they know not anything. To me, a loving God would never burn anyone for ever. If your story is true however I I would rather burn than to follow such a fiend..

Listen friend, Just like in the days we live in now, most christians do not believe that hell exists but yet Jesus taught about it more than He spoke of Heaven. God does not send anyone to hell but WE send ourselves there when we reject the sacrifice Jesus gave for us. We all have a choice, accept Jesus and live for Him or just don't and be prepared to face eternal seperation from God in hell.

There acually is a different meaning to Luke 16:23, but teachers of hell fire love to use this as proof. But most people are not aware of it's true meaning. If we are to take it literaly then that would mean people in a paradise can have converstions with people in a pit of fire. It would also mean that people in fire can still have a conversation. If you were in a pit of fire would you be talking or screaming?

The old testament said that the dead are concious of nothing. How could people live on after death before Jesus himself defeated death? And Jesus taught that the PERSON was the soul. The bible also made it clear that nobody goes to heaven untill the resurrection when Jesus returns.
By the way, seeing as you believe in hell, do you think that it is reasonable for people to burn in hell 24 hours a day even though they probably did not even know about salvation. Answer me truthfully.

No one has seen God at anytime. So, if the dead know nothing after they die, then someone please try and answer me this, how did Moses and Elijah talk to Christ doing the transfigaration on the mount? Melmando, instead of reading "a divine revelation" why dont you encourage others to STUDY the word of God, dont just READ a few scriptures here and there. i encourage you to stay skeptical, but to go over each and every scripture this guy cites. Pray for Jesus to confirm the truth in your heart ,and accept it whether you are correct or not.
