Lyrics to "Everything is Tickety-Boo" (best as FLJ can figure out) Everything is tickety-boo, tickety-boo, tickety-boo... Everything is tickety-boo on such a dreamy daydley-oodley. Who could be persnickety-poo, snickety-poo, snickety-poo... With the sky so blinkety-blue, it causes one to say: Bless mankind, including my attackers. I'm inclined... the feeling is oh... so jolly-well oh... It's ever-so-lutely crackers! . . .
@FranTomJ ... Awesome job, but I think the last line part is ... "It's aber-solutely crackers...".. But the rest is bang-on, or in my book AEWSOME.. I can sing along to it now.. Many thanks from Wales :0)x
@wenglishsal .. APOLOGIESE from my absimal spelling, must be tired I guess, so I shall watch Danny Kaye one more time and then off to bed with a HUGE grin on my face.. hee hee :0)x
@joeknee4767 ... Your comment made me chuckle... 'mate indeed' ... I am a silver haired Grandmother actually but I suppose if I was in Australia I may well get call mate or Sheila... Well which ever one it may be, I shall still be singing along with Danny..
Everything is tickety-boo indeed... *silly grin* Regards from Wales :0)x
Aha! The "bicycle" sequence at the end of this number would seem to be the "inspiration" for a similar sequence in "The Sound of Music"'s DO RE MI number. Couldn't Marc Breaux and Dee Dee Wood be more original?
I have looked a LOOOONG time for this number. Thanks evah so! By the way, the scene from 0.05 to 0.47 is reputed to be the longest single take of any scene in any movie .... not one cut!
Oh, I have just realized they are all riding on the 'wrong side of the day', it must have been filmed in America... and a car passed him on the left, very strange indeed... The fences aren't as 'posh' and the roads in UK don't look like that either...lol
BUT I still love this, and yes I am still singing along, Danny is a smile maker... :0)x
Danny Kaye always makes me smile... his singing and acting are simply wonderful... Love it, the tune is now well and truly stuck in my 'bonce', and still making me smile...58's Danny R.I.P. :0)x
I heard this when I was little, but had no idea that it was from a film. How wonderful to see it after all these years. Such a happy, cheering song at a time when we really need it! Thank you so much for sharing it.
I was kid from a small town. We had a school trip to New York City where we went to Radio City Music Hall... this song was in the film that we saw that day. It's 50 years and I remember it like was yesterday.
great movie a movie that time forgot. i got VERY!! lucky and found a bootleg dvd of it. they did to make it so people can buy it. i bet it would sell very nicely.
I've been looking for this song for ages! The B side was "The square of the hypotomuse of the right triangle is equal to the sum of the square of the two adjacent sides" Only Danny Kaye could have sung that and made it good!
I was just cheking wikipedia about this film and found the coolest geekiest easter egg ever. Theres a reference at the end of this film to The Court Jester: kaye´s character´s father tells him that theres no shame in becoming a clown because actually an ancestor of his was the court jester of a british king!!!!!!
@aksa8c yes, that is a little earlier in the movie. His pant leg gets caught in the chain as he's pedaling to class and he end up in a wheelie. Kaye was so brilliant at physical humor.
That man could charm the stars out of the sky ;> Thanks!

Tickety Boo was a late Victorian expression!

If Danny Kaye rode up on his bicycle singing this song then I would sing along with him. I don't think I'd have a choice.

Love this song... After it you should watch Hans Christian Anderson's 'Emporors New Clothes', if I'm not mistaken, it's the same tune?
PeppermintGlow 3 years ago
@PeppermintGlow It has the similar cadence yes. But the tune is different. I can see how you came to this conclusion.

Wasn't there a bit when Danny had his coat or trouser caught in the bicycle chain? Maybe my memory is playing tricks. Great viewing this one.
