  • Hey bro!!! i totally like your scoops.. its a great interpretation of Chitlin , you have given your soul to it....

    Cheers!!!

  • ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzgggggggggnnnnnnnnnrrrrrr

How about adding some chilli peppers?

  • I just found out I'm included in this video..like someone already said, what a complement! Totally unexpected..

I really liked the playing and the clean tone, you've got a great touch.

  • @yoni162 - Thank you, I appreciate that very much. I just have one question for you: Where did all your videos go? You had a lot of great stuff!

  • @klasek yeah I took them down a while ago on a whim..

  • Great feeling men :) like the video

  • tigre143 - Thank you! I like your version of this tune as well!

  • great video!! and nice idea !!!

  • testou34 - A belated "thank you" to you!

  • Really nice video... from a really nice person I guess.

  • luknopfler83 - An even more belated "Thank You" to you!

  • niiice jazzy stuff. From one srv lover to the next

  • ...or is this the Kenny Burnell version?

  • I had Stevie Ray's cover in mind when I did this, but I love Kenny Burrell's version too. I'm forever a student of them both.

  • Hey guys. I have to learn this song so my mom will buy me my dream guitar. Any tips or lessons would be greatly appreciated!

  • practice your fingers off...lol Good luck

  • cheat by doing pull offs during the scale runs, and what guitar is this dream guitar

  • No cheating. I like the way those runs sound when played legato-style. Alternate-picking in those spots would have sounded a little too aggressive, and this tune is supposed to be mellow.

The guitar is a mongrel Fender Stratocaster that I built myself: 70's style rosewood neck, Texas-Special single-coil pickups, gold left-handed bridge, ash body, gold machine heads. Best guitar I've ever played.

  • nice playing and a great thing you've done here!keep up the good guitaring, if i would do such a thing i'd include you in the video :)...cheers!

  • I appreciate that very much, thank you! I'm actually thinking about doing another one like this, and you will definitely be in it!

  • why me? :)

  • the thrille con carne has returned from the gone

  • lol messed up with the spellin..i meant earth here..

  • Very much appreciated, thank you!

    Great tune.

  • Thank you, sir. Keep on playing them blues!

  • so nice, i'll do a better video of mary had a little lamb, i want to be in your next video ^^

    See ya man

  • Thanks! The video you already made for that song is great!

  • lots of feelings and soul ...great.you play with your heart .

  • Thank you! That's the same way I would describe your playing!

  • this is one of my favorite songs. i like this video a lot

  • Thanks! But after seeing your video, I realized that I've been neglecting piano players up to now. If I learn how to play the keys one-tenth as well as you do, I would be a happy guy. As of now, I'm barely functional on piano. Keep on posting those videos!

  • The tone of that strat just really soars... it has a good pilot at the controls... that's a huge part of it. You would make most any guitar sing. Carry on!

  • I appreciate that very much. Thank you.

  • Very nice of you. Nice song, you definitely know how to "blues" ;) I like the tone. What amp do you got? are these the stock pickups on the strat?

    Congrats to you (thumbs up...)

  • Thank you! My Stratocaster has Fender Texas Special pickups. For this video, I used my POD amp emulator plugged directly into the sound card of my computer.

  • If You recorded the song in this arrangement and it became soundtrack in a David Lynch movie, You would sell 500,000 copies. I really enjoyed this piece - well done!

  • Thank you! You bring up a very interesting idea.

  • That was awesome! amazingly clean technique, and I love the jazzy parts in the solo(some of it sounded slightly flamenco influenced as well?) 5 stars from me!

  • Thank you! Now that you mention it, some of this does have a little flamenco flavor to it. The tune itself has a bit of a Latin groove to it.

  • ¨You are great, just great. Thanks man.

  • Thank you very much! It made perfect sense to include you in this.

  • Wonderful tribute and terrific performance! I love the feeling you put into your playing. Nice sound too! I've had a guitar for 12 years but maybe played only 6 of those. Thanks to you, my passion is definitely rekindled and I'm now practicing this very song (SRV style). All the best to you, man!

  • Thank you! It's great that you're getting back into playing guitar. I hope music enriches your life as much as it has enriched mine.

  • Nice sound and feeling man, really cool !!

  • Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

  • nice playing dude! love your feeling

  • Thanks, man! Keep on playing that guitar!

  • Hey, nice video, and thanx to made me discover some guitarists i hadn't noticed yet on youtube ;)

    Keep it up

    Greg

  • Thank you! Yes, please check them all out and encourage them to make as much music as possible. They're all great!

  • That was just so shit hot !!!!

  • Who could ask for a better complement than that?

  • BRAND NEW!

ABSOLUTELY MINT. I'M PLEASED YOU WERE 'REKINDLED'!

ALL THE VERY BEST FROM TwelvestringTrev.

  • Thank you! I enjoy your playing as well. I hope to hear more stuff from you!

  • Hiya Klasek, I stopped by to visit, and rediscovered this video. It is beautiful, you play with great feeling, and sensitivity, and I thank you again for the honor.

  • I was glad to do it, Paul. Thank you for your kind words.

  • Cool stuff. You remind me of Robert Cray, similar style. And check out my version with a backing, it should be up soon.

  • Well that is truly a high, high complement. Thank you! I've seen your version of Chitlins. It's great!

  • Nice work man great tone - I can't get enough of the Strat-Blues tone!!!

  • Thanks! Keep on playing that slide!

  • love the jazzy scales you've got there, a very nice twist, you have definetly "got the blues", nice.

    Alanstrainor

  • honored to be in this

  • It made perfect sense to have you in there.

  • Thanks very much for the posting. That video was inspiring. Your playing is a fine example of how less is more- a real soulful maturity. You're right on about this new medium being an inspiration to all and re-invigorating old players of all kinds. I find myself pulling up a stool and playing along every night. Too cool.

  • Thank you! I've always had an appreciation for guitarists who you can recognize after hearing very few of the notes they play. (Albert King and BB King are perfect examples.) Carlos Santana described this approach as "getting inside the note and putting your fingerprint on it." I'm happy to say that there's no shortage of players on YouTube who live by that motto.

  • Thank you so much man! I really appreciate that!

  • You're very welcome! Keep on playing that guitar!

  • It's Great !!! :D

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

  • Well Done!!

  • Thank you, Mr. B!

  • Nice jazzy-bluesy style you have with a lot of soul!

    Great.

  • I love the patience you have when you play, and way to use the thumb...most guys overlook that little detail for a tune like this. Can't wait to see more!

  • Thank you! Yes, the thumb is the key to playing a tune like this. It gives you a nice warm tone. Wes Montgomery was the king of this style of playing. Hope to see more vids from you too!

  • Thanks! I like your music too.

  • Klasek, you are a class act! You played so beautifully here, it is very moving!

I am so proud, and honored to be your friend, thank you so much for the honor you have bestowed on me. Your music is beautiful, and I will be watching you closely over the next few years, I suspect great things will be coming from you!

  • It was my pleasure, Paul. Thank you for all of your encouragement, and for being a true mentor.

  • Thank you Klasek!!

It was so incredbli kind to include me with all other great slingers of the you tube.

Yes, there are so many awesome guitarists on YouTube from all over the world. If I live to be 1000, I don't think I could absorb it all.

  • Wow,very moving..I think we've got something going on here..Somehow,it's a kind of freedom,..well hard to describe,but wonderfull.Take care Jesse:-)
