  • Seriously, it's spelt GREAT!

  • @KarlNugent that's an UKINDIE inside joke check out Yahoo Groups and discomadator!

  • @toiroforcado Maybe the GRATEST song of all time? I say maybe!

  • yeah...........what a guitar work

  • never seen this live before. the 90s live on!!!!!!!!

  • Great performance. I wish someone would do a video tutorial of how to play this on guitar. I can't figure out a couple of the riffs.

  • So raw and epic that I have a hard time not clicking the play button over and over. Thank you, Edwyn.

  • best version of this song here on youtube

  • love this song, old school !!!!

  • one of the very best rocksongs ever--------just love it

  • Anyone have any idea what effects he is using for that nice spacey sort of sound?

  • @13breno13 it sounds like an electro harmonix tube zipper pedal.

  • @13breno13 fuzz into an envelope filter. this era, probably a tonebender into a guyatone wr-2 (sounds like one too)

  • The buzzing noise while the interview - is it my speaker, or is it part of the video?

  • he was singer for band orange juice check out there song rip it up

  • the bassist is my aunt :D i love this song so much, it's my little claim to fame. great version (Y)

  • good song

  • good song

  • Nice to see the interview, having been at the gig/riot in question. I remember him defying the curfew and playing on until the sound got unplugged, then coming back on with an acoustic... it ended with him being bundled rougly off stage. A lot of mounted police in evidence.

Saw him the other night. Obviously he can't play guitar any more but it was still a cracking set. And he's still got Cook on drums - they've worked together for years; Cook played the vibes part on the original recording.

  • @cavecattus Thanks for that information! Good to hear that he is performing. I did not know that Cook played vibes!

  • @cavecattus Forgive my ignorance but why can't he play guitar anymore?

  • @themax316 He suffered two strokes in 2005.

  • i absolutely adore this song and the new album i never heard from him until i read a review of his new album so i started listening and i really like it he is great

  • @abortiveization Or at vid2mp3

  • Sex Pistol's Paul Cook on drums

  • @matclarence good spy!!

  • Just love the guitar sound, so dirty!!

  • GRATE hair too! I don't know if anybody else has noticed?

  • @toiroforcado great

  • @toiroforcado GRATE: Metal fabrication of members & cross-members arranged in such a way as to form a solid, lightweight surface.

  • @pmcfee1968 total architecture its GRATE! Guitar effects and fingers flailing superbly I agree I have never met a guitarist like that before! And a nice enchante interview with the man God Bless you! Edwyn!

  • love the guitar sound

  • @psykoced666 i find it cool too ^_^

  • If he looks old now it may because he is 50 now! THis video is from 15 years ago people!

  • is this great or what!

  • @autumn1231 YEAH BABY!

  • Just seen him British TV, forgot he had a stroke, looking very old now....

  • is that mr. cook from pistols playing the drums?

  • I saw Edwyn Collinson his 1995 tour, and that is indeed Paul Cook on the drums.

  • the guitar parts that he does at the start are whow... i'd love that guitar funky tune on more songs.. its amazing effect

  • i just love this...always did,always will.

  • he talks kawejzi :D

  • I watched this like 5 times last night and dreamt about it so I got up and danced to it like 10 times and went back to sleep.

  • hahaha :D awesome!

  • one cool muther fucker

  • And having read the comments below - I once danced on stage with Amazulu too. Funny old world.

  • WOW! Edwyn in excelsis! Never seen this clip before, stunning. Lucky enough to see Edwyn play last week, f**king beautiful night.

  • i like other tipe of music.......but this is the best song that i heared in my life.......it s amazing

  • Fucking Brilliant

  • check out big audio dynamite it`s similar

  • If you want to nail the lead guitar sound from the original use the DenTone 900 Pound Violin. My fav fuzz pedal of all time. I think I read he used a Colorsound Tonebender on the original.

  • It's Steve Skinner!!

  • i love this song you are the best song i ever heard

  • THAT is a beautiful battle scarred Strat.

  • Great guitar work :)

  • @BellamysGirl great ewerything....

  • love it!

  • Damn I like the sound of his guitar, I have tryed but can't get the sound rigth

  • try either a way huge swollen pickle, or an Electro Harmonix Big Muff. that should approximate the lead guitar sound.

  • I lived this song!!!

  • I think we all have

  • I saw Orange Juice in a YMCA in Stirling. They had a great song called "Blue Boy" released on Postcard Records.

  • Postcard is a rare record label. If you have the record its probably worth good money. I'm going to check my collection, I bought this one off kind of CD deal (just as rare likely) with Orange Juice and see if it has that song on it.

  • great song and interview..thanks for sharing!

  • little iggy little bowie a little edwyn all good

  • it looks like Paul Cook on drums, from sex pistols

  • its him yes! He was on tour with Edwyn then

  • edwin collins, legend... conan o brien, what a fuckin cock

  • I remember watching this when it first aired. Great song and funny interview. "How bout, if I actually kicked him in the scrotum". Hilarious.

  • great performance..great song

  • he had a brain hemorrage??? is this true???

  • yes, but he is alive

  • her name is tina waymouth from tom tom club and the

    talking heads!!!

  • No! Thats not right, can I get a ruling on that? I think this lady played with them but I don't think its her. I saw her play on late night TV several times including with I think the B52s and Tom Tom Club and others too. I think she's a studio bassist.

  • You are correct. It's NOT Tina Weymouth, and this girl did play with the B-52s at times. You can see her in the "Roam" or "Love Shack" videos I think.

  • correction, she's only in the "Love Shack" video, not "Roam".

  • her name is Clare Kenny. She used to play in an 80's UK girl band called Amazulu

  • Thanks for that information. I think I have seen her play with Annie Lennox on Saturday Night Live and also with Tom Tom Club or was that the B52s - I forget

  • @toiroforcado Gorgeous woman and vastly underrated bass player. Also played with Sinead O'Connor - makes a fabulous rhythm section with John Reynolds.

  • @toiroforcado I agree. I think the bassist could be Clare Kenny who was in the personnel for the album that this song came from, and played with him before that. Doesn't look or sound like Tina ex talking Heads and different era anyway ?

  • hopefully this will be my xmas presnet-how good is this?

  • mERRY XMAS! Girl like You!

  • What a bunch of punks.

  • Love the punx

  • I heard this song on a movie some years ago but I could not remember the name of the movie or the song and the song was stuck in my head for years and here it is. What a great song ,thanks

  • Is that a phaser on his guitar during the verses?

  • I think it's an an effect called an "envelope filter"

  • Thanks, that was fantastic, a lovely interview and a great example of Edwyn's tremendous wit and charm.

  • Agreed! I'm glad I saved it and was able to share what seems like is a rare bit ! I wish I had more from this guy when I saw him a few months later. I love Adidas World for instance. Tech changes so fast, wish I had video cam.

  • amazing!

  • Wonderful! Love the stereo sound!
