Im conflicted, I found this scene too stupid, there is no way anyone would survive that long after such a blast, you would die immediately. On the other hand I see the faults in every programme and whilst Breaking Bad has it faults, it has a lot of great writing too.

@Sidowse you would be suprised what human body can take.... a friend of mine witnessed a teenage girl around 17-18 being hit by a traind (suicide). The train operator saw her some 20-30 meters and slammed on the breaks but he was unable to stop in time so the train hit her she flew about 50 meters from the train, then she proceeded to stand up walk about 5-6m and then fell down dead. Its possible the scene is grueseome and plausable.

@Ouija121085 I'm not going to say that you are wrong, but being hit by a train is VERY different to being hit by a bomb-blast. The bomb-blast would have turned all of his internal organs to soup. At the very least he would be bleeding from EVERY orifice (eyes, ears etc), but he doesn't even have a nose-bleed. Also, due to having the eardrums ruptured he wouldn't have been able to walk properly due to dizziness. Doubt he made it to the bath in time.

@Sidowse Depends what type of the bomb it is. Dynamite kills by creating a preassure blast wave which essentially kills you with "a wind", while other bombs use shrapnel to do the killing. From what i have saw its a homemade pipe bomb probably nitroglycerin type explosive. Its possible.

@Ouija121085 The bomb is made by Walt. Walt is portrayed as a chemistry genius. The Bomb is going to be as good as the best explosive available; such as C4. Although what ever the bomb is made from becomes slightly irrelevant due to the tank of Oxygen that is right next to it.

Worst scene in the entire series!!! Absolutely love this show, I assure you, but this was unlike anything theyve done before. Looked incredibly unrealistic, I was disappointed... I figured they might just kind of zoom in on his crippled torso or something.

@yours12342 we didn't need to see Gus dying i agree, but we deserved seeing the son of a bitch go, the scene was not about showing a Terminator-like moment, it was abouts exposing what Gus represents even until the very end. if anything, i think this scene deserves an award, absolutely brilliant.

anybody else notice the symbolism, that is always apprent in the show explosion blows off half of gus's face. One side looks evil, the other perfect and neat business like.Walt is a mastermind for thinking this up, and this guy had to hate gus, to take his own life in this explosion. Well he did kill his two grand sons. Walt thought of everything.I just hope Walt is smart enough now to throw away any traces of poison from the plant in his back yard. Still the questions gave him the candy?

i think this season has made several attempts to make Gus seem, well, supernatural. the sniper's ambush, the bomb spider-sense, the flashback to the murder of his friend. the fact that he came out of that blast had you thinking for ONE second that he had survived it. but nope.

Not as bad (or as painful) as the girl who got her face ripped off by a chimp, or that Australian guy who lost most of his face, sinuses and upper pallet to cancer and now wears a big prosthesis (big enough to have made the Guinness Book of World Records).

Regardless I still think this is one of the best moments of the entire series, even better than when Jesse tried to melt that guy in his bathtub, though I don't think it's as good as the guy's head strapped to a tortoise.
