  • Joanna.......can't sing.... XD

THIS VERSION IS 10X BETTER THAN BURTON! I love Tim Burton but the singing in that version..... *finds a bucket*

  • This production is very well done, it may be the fact i saw the movie first that interferes with a fair judgement but Sweeney Todd seems to be lacking the anger that he would have for being shipped out for life under a false charge... I feel as Tim Burton did a much better job capturing their anger.. also the songs movie a bit to slowly in some parts but it is an good production well done! :) and you did a lovely job filming. :)

  • The movies WAY better.

  • this is just amazin !!!!!!! this is so much better than the movie but thye both have good features and have sweeneys that make the musical

  • I can't get enough of this !!!

  • dream cast! Wow!

  • This has to be one of the best musicals ever made.

  • If it is a Musical, isnt it suposed to have good singers ?

  • I love it. Tim Burton did it justice. Im glad he made the movie version of this awesome musical instead of any other director.

  • you think that Anthony would put two and two two together

  • im watching this in my drama class at school i love this!!!!!

  • This now plays on TCM (good call TCM), but I missed the first 45 minutes.Thank you, thank you for this upload. The Burton version was a pale shadow of the Broadway production. (notwithstanding the excellent performances rendered by the cast - to many tunes omitted). The stagecraft in this is also amazing and excellent.

If Sweeney teaches nothing else, he teaches to always have a little time for others.

  • I think it's fantastic how there is so much to love about all of the popular versions of this show. Angela Lansbury is remarkable.

  • helena is great and all and so is Johnny depp but nothing beats this

  • What the fuck is wrong with her voice its disgusting. more than the worst pies in london/ ew i hate her ugly ass voice

  • @IceyAmethyst She's ACTING. She's not supposed to be an attractive character.

  • @ohjawillkommen i know but her singing is awful

  • <3 <3 <3 <3 awesome....

  • I love George Hearn

  • I love this production, without we never would've even had the (apparently) much loved Tim Burton version. I especially like how they utilize the set pieces, very clever!

  • I work in a snack bar and occassionally answer the question "Whats in the hot dogs?" with "Priest"... got a 10 dollar tip when someone got the reference

  • "The Worst Pies in London" always makes me happy inside for some reason.

  • this version is better than the burton adaptation but johnny depp's much easier on the eye

  • I feel that Helena Bonham Carter was able to capture her character in the film adaption more than Angela Lansbury was able to do so in the Broadway adaption. Although Carter was give then chance to reshoot her scenes, I feel that she would just as good, if not better than Lansbury if given the opportunity to participate in the theater version.

  • @sorg54 Helena Bonham Carter also had an entirely different interpretation; if Lansbury's interpretation wasn't good at capturing the character, then the people who wrote the musical wouldn't have approved of the casting. Helena Bonham Carter's interpretation is not one that would necessarily even work that well in a large-scale version of Sweeney Todd like this in a big house like this one. You have to play a character big enough to affect the people in the back row; Lansbury did.

  • honestly, I enjoyed the movie but Lansbury just makes it what it is. :)

  • Anything Tim Burton uses Johnny Depp in is MOST DEFINATELY ruined! The upcoming new version of "Dark Shadows" by Burton and starring Depp as iconic Barnabas Collins will most definately destroy Dark Shadows as well!

  • @donaldftanner lol depp is a good actor and if he had one of his movies on youtube they will reach abou 500,000 views in a day more than you

  • 2:42 Sweeney Todd is behind the oven XD

  • He is a bass/baritone. The notes are that high...just great low harmonics in it. George Hearn is....magnificent.

  • I wanted to like it but I just feel he sings Sweeny like an octave to low. Oh well

  • :)

  • Please can anyone give me a link where i can downbload it? thanks

  • haaah, thank you uploading this ^-^

  • Angela Lansbury was the best choice for Mrs. Lovette. Definitely a major reason why I love this production so much. Plus, the Broadway showing is much better than Tim Burton's production in many ways. Just... This is awesome. Thanks for the upload. :)

  • @ShibuiMizuno George Hern is the only thing in the broadway production I would say was utterly superior to Burtons. Such a powerful voice.

  • @ShibuiMizuno your opinion...

  • Oh how I prefer this version~!

  • "Looks like u got plenty 2 push there." LOL She's practically saying that he has a huge . . . hot dog.

  • thnx for sharing!!!!

  • thanks for bringing this back. been itching to see this again.
