Particularly good rendition. Saw the tour in '78 in Los Angeles at the Inglewood Forum and was quite disappointed. In comparison to '76, which soared, it felt deflated and warmed over. I was depressed for days afterward. My hero seemed at a loss, lacking urgency. The new Eno produced music was hard to replicate live and the old songs sounded, well, old. Old and overblown. The Serious Moonlight and Reality tours were MUCH, MUCH better. Never liked his costume or hair for the '78 tour.
something like this is great to see. the setting is intimate. this does great justice to david bowies raw talent. his mastery of writing is evident here and one can see how easily this man is able to conjure and improvise perfect melodies on the fly.he can rewrite his own songs 10 times over. a true writer. scary skill and talent rolled into one.
My favourite line up with Bowie. Adrian Belew is awesome with his Strat and the rhytm guys are soo tight and heavy. Not to mention Bowie himself - he really masters his voice in an amazing fashion. Fantastic!
kilo23 has got that right...THE best live performance from this German show is STAY,Adrian Belew has got to be THE most underrated American guitarist by his own public, they know him better in TOKYO! ...if you're listening my little ziggystarlet...it can't be found on youtube...hint... :)
Hey, that's Adrian Belew on guitar (the strat)! It might be nice to put his name as a tag/search term, because his fans are very devoted, and would love this! Does anyone know - is that Sly & Robbie in the rhythm section?
