  • Incredibly noisy compressor, even at this small scale. Not only ill effects of loud noise but low-frequency noise (inaudible to human hearing) and its whole body effects (See Amy Mall/NRDC post 2-22-10). Gas burns clean but is not at all "clean" in its production (shale gas extraction can cause air and water pollution. Contrary to "not much of a pollutant," methane is a major worsener of greenhouse effect. Fascination with machine without seeing big picture. This fellow is misleading.

  • where did you find out how to do this?? Can you point me in the direction of information on how to convert the compressor?

  • Like any vehicle, miles or km depends on size of the tank. In this large V8 sedan, it goes 200 miles, is that 320 KM ?

  • How many KM. you can drive after each fueling.

  • What are the specific changes to convert a diving compressor to compress natural gas ? i want to convert my car to natural gas if i can compress the natural gas at home from my local gas company. please reply!!!!

  • @oscars97 If your scuba compressor is equipped with an automatic moisture venting system, all vent lines should be routed to the exterior. All electronics that may be present must be relocated to prevent sparks (esp relays) from becoming ignition sources. Motor should be sealed (no vents) or explosion proof rated. Oil should be mineral based only (synthetic foams in NG). Never operate the compressor in an enclosed environment (NG leaks or failures can cause accumulation / fire hazard).

  • This system always stores as a gas, so it is called CNG compressed natural GAS,

Liquified natural gas is another process (LNG) and involves very cold temp plus high pressure.

  • @balbin57 -LNG is NOT under pressure.

  • So interesting.

I wonder if it gets liquid after compressing or does it stay a gas?

  • enjoyed the video arrow-s.com

  • is ur suction line connected to ur natural gas line from ur house, or do u have a well ur drawing from

  • (towards egn83b) your a retard

  • Just converted my pt cruiser, now i will need you to make me one of these bad boys for filling up.

  • The fun fact of life you don't own anything its just illusion because you can't take anything with you other then your experiences in life when you die.

  • Where does the gas come from? I am just wondering how a simple home buyer will ever find such a thing on piece of land.

  • This setup isfor natural gas motor vehicles, (CNG) The high pressure compressor could cost $7500 and the storage for 5000cuft of high pressure gas another $5000. Vehicles require 3600psi to fill their tanks. A barby, home heat etc uses .5 (1/2) pound pressure.

Most people with gas wells, the well will supply home needs without storage.

  • Thank you for sharing. Do you also capture, store and pressurize for use by water heater, to cook with, gas barbeque, etc? Where would I find a little professional help in this area? It seems like everywhere I look people say not to do it. I don’t understand why.

  • This I believe is a phenominal idea and looks like what I have been wanting. I would love to correspond with you and speck this out to the point that I could build it. Most of my gas gets burned, or blown of thru a standpipe during the summer and I would much rather save it!

  • I have a similar situation as you, in that I have a small, producing oil well on my property. I use the wellhead gas to heat in the winter, cook, and heat my water. However there are times in the winter when temps get low and pressure drops to the point that all appliances will not run. In the summer there is an abundance, though. What I want to do is use a compressor system such as this to "stockpile" CNG during the summer in the equivalent of a propane storage tank. Wouldn't this be possible?

  • Sir, this is a fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. Can you tell us more about the natural gas well? How did you create it? What did it cost to install? Is NG only available in certain areas in the ground? What city are you doing this in? Questions of that ilk would be great to get responses on!

  • Smart man.. wish America would catch on.

  • awesome setup, that so awesome to get free fuel, from your farm. However the answer your question about why the whole country isnt doing this its probably becuase of production. Inorder to mass produce enough gas for the whole country we would need ALOT of plants tp produce. My guess is, after a piont it isnt cost/space effective....however i could be wrong. i mean we do use alot of CNG for homes, i wonder how much of a load running all our vehicles off it would add to our current systems?

  • @SaGalv United States has enough natural gas to meet ALL its motor fuel and heating needs for 100's of years. CH4 (natural gas) comes out of the ground ready to burn (like on my farm) It needs only a bit of filtering to be 100% useful. It is distributed to virtually ALL cities and towns across america by underground pipeline. If every town provided a CNG (compressed natural gas) fueling station, fed by pipeline, we could graduall eliminate our dependence on foreign oil at a cost of 800 B

  • Great video! Can you tell me what or anything that had to be done to the compressor itself. Thank you, Jim

  • @jimschrader50 The compressor has overpressure fittings on every stage. To be safe, I installed a T fitting and a long hose to take any blowoff gas away from the machine. NG is actually easier on the machine than Air, so they will run a long time with out maintance, (except Oil)

  • thank you for the great video

  • Hi, excuse me, I'm really interested on making this kind of project on my farm, its for biogas, can you give me the specifications of the compressor, does it works with a special intercooler? because a have read some info and it says that it must be cooled down to -161ºC, and what are the adaptations of the car, did you changed to carburator?. i really thank for your time, Have a nice day.

  • @artt110285

Natural Gas from your home utility line only cost about .70cents per gallon of gas equivilant (GGE)We make a home refueling station that comes in many sizes. captureing natural gas from a manure pit or it can be used for school buses and fleet use from the Natural Gas lines. It will refuel a car overnight and the CNG (compressed natural gas) conversion kits are made custom for your vehicle, send me an email and I can give you more information otto.nrghybrids@yahoo.com

  • @ElectroMagnumMan Thank you very much, I`ll keep on contact, i want to make a project in a farm with a biodigestor, have a nice day

  • I work on Gas Comp. In Texas..very Cool!!

  • GREAT VIDEO YOU SHOULD GET A PRISE !

Can you send us some mor info, or schemes about this sistem, I personaly want to BUILD one here in EUROPE but i don`t have much information ... (we are here some mecanics interested in CNG)

  • you have a point but its a bit big. think ill stick with my fuelmaker for now, i like the ider though.

  • Way to go! Great vid and great idea! And, hey, I'm the first to post a comment!!! you should find a way to hook one of these up to Congress. Think of the gas you'd get ... oh, ... but it wouldn't be pollutant free.
