  • MFM

  • can someone please tell me what the technique is called from 4:25-4:29 and how to play it?

  • @bossothenorth that just seems to be alternate picking on a harmonic (5th/7th fret?) maybe with a little bit of wah or something going on, not too sure

  • @bossothenorth Sounds like natural harmonics to me.

  • I love this song's funk!

  • 255 to 303 is why joe is joe and u aint, and me either, beautiful

  • the running penthonic from 3.03 to 3.12 was amazing....

  • haha he is so versatile like that Greg Howe cool & super-advanced guitar licks at same time haha **

  • Great track, was it ever release as a single ? would of been cool

  • I love the way the solo sounds. It just sounds so perfect with the rest of the song. I have to hand it to Joe, he is one of the best, if not the best, guitarists who every played.

  • It's one of my favorites of his - though there are many.

  • Yep. I find it hard to not fall instantly in love with one of his songs. I have many favorites also. Another one of mine is War.

  • wow what a tune! cant belive i hadnt heard this one before!!

  • same :P

  • Nor can I. About you that is.

  • Holy Roman Catholic Buddah in a skydiving wheelchair!!! 2:03 was extra glaze on the donut, if you know what I mean.

  • No kind sir, I do not. Do you care to extrapolate?

  • Love stuart's bass... simple and cool!! one of the finest mixes on the record too :)

  • i think this is the quintessential satriani cut; everything fits so tasteful and imaginative.

  • funky

  • yeeeeah!!

i feel like in some kind of freak show or whatever! this music is so strange and funky, it gets me freaking out!

i'm banging my head against the wall!!

    clack-clack-clack-clack-clack

  • i used to have this album on cassette... but i didn't remember this cut. i love the Prince-like guitar strumming. gee... who KNEW Satch could "funk it up!!!!."

  • ya the solos are insane!!

  • Comment removed

  • way insanity makes you wanna give up playing the guitar :(( cause you feel like youd never in a kazillion years hit the notes he does so cleanly but i keep tryin!!!!!!!!!

  • #2 Tom Sawyer, limelight, Ozzy, van halen. I knew how to play well @ 18. 9 months ago I said wait, I know how to play guitar. I forgot that I knew how to play guitar. I am on an acoustic now for a reason. It's harder, was harder rather. now I fly.

I am faster now on this acoustic than I was on electric 20 years ago.

Joe as an influence is a must and important. listening is an Art. Absorb it, comprehend & psychologically file. We need more influenced by Joe. And less thinking that their Joe.

  • #1 Now hold on there road66agent... lol

It's interesting you feel that way. because you know what? back in 88 when I heard Joe for the first time. Surfing with the Alien (greys), lol was the album. I was in shock, lol

I thought to myself "how can I compare to this" and thought about giving guitar up also.

I kind of did, 88 is when I stared construction and playing guitar faded away. now 21 years later I am back to playing. we played Rush at out high school.

There is only one Joe Satriani

  • the 1st solo is kick ass, as is all his stuff. but listen to the feel.

  • I total agree man 1st solo is awesome. His runs are melodic and he lands on awesome notes.

  • plus the kicking bassline at the back. What a great solo to a great song , a totally underrated one in my opinion.

  • There isnt a bassline per se. It was done by Satriani with Taurus bass pedals.. The only real bass is in the breakdown. Stuart Hamm did it.

  • love this song!
