  • I wish I could have WCW Jericho back for one more run. Glad that he's using the Liontamer now in some situations instead of just the Walls of Jericho. WOJ is just a boston crab, the Liontamer is something special.

  • King needs to put down the porn, and pick up an astronomy book.

  • Same age as Hogan, but Steamboat can still put on a better match than him. Given that they're both old men, of course.

  • I like jerichos walk to the ring.

  • that old SOB's still got it

  • I usually don't say this but... dead crowd much?

  • @gibblesbits That's because people don't like all that technical wrestling stuff anymore, that's what happened to Lance Storm. He was a great wrestler but people got bored ofhim.

  • anyone else finds it weird that he's usung ultimo dragon's theme?

  • @Ir1shM3talhead

Yep, guess he can't use the old theme "Sirius" copyright stuff I guess

  • I can't watch this match! Youtube is streaming this video slower than hair growing on a yak's ballsack!

  • Should have just been Jericho vs Steamboat at mania that year

  • Amazing, Steamboat at 56 was still better than about 90% of the current roster.

  • Ricky Steamboat was always underrated during his time in the WWF. The guy had one of the greatest matches in history against Randy Savage at WM3 and his matches against Ric Flair in the NWA showed that he could be a main-event talent. I wish Vince gave him at least one shot in the spotlight. If he failed, he failed. But at least he would have gotten his chance.

  • @fantasyknuckleheads Steamboat was great with Savage! If I have my facts right, the two of them would wrestle at house shows and then analyze the crowds' reactions so they could put on better matches at PPVs.

  • 56 years old and he wrestle like a young!

  • They should've kept him wrestling he can still go

  • Ricky Steamboat Vs. Kofi Kingston - WM28

  • okay do people actually think this is real? Or just for entertainment?

  • @burninrock24

Everyone knows this is scripted, dumbass...although most non-wrestling fans have no idea how dangerous and painful it is.

  • @burninrock24 when you watch a movie or tv show and you get caught up in it, that's fake too. You realize this right? This is just basically live entertainment

  • can wrestle better than hulk hogan and ric flair at 53

  • the dragon still has it. sooooooooooo cool.

  • At 3:28 the reff told Chris to put his feed away from the rope and he did it :)

Thats bad done by WWE :)

  • It's guys like Steamboat who've built the wrestling business but guys like Jericho are tearing it down.

  • @donn409 no John Cena is tearing it down. Jericho has done alot for WWE and wrestling in general

  • @wesmitch100 I agree that Cena is one of the problems as well. Wrestling fans need to come to the realization that the sport will never reach the popularity of the 1980s again. We still have the videos from the golden age thank God.

  • I wish Randy Savage was still alive for 1 more short run in WWE.

  • @scabbedwings771

If Savage was still alive, there's no way he could return to the ring. When he came back to TNA, he couldn't do his diving elbow...and that was over 5 years ago. He was already washed up then.

  • @garethac81 Since when does being washed up keep wrestlers out of the ring?

  • 2:09 to 2:11 Jericho wants to be Masters

  • He's fucking amazingly fit for his age.

  • Chris Jericho: ASK HIM!

CM Punk: YOU HAVE A VAGINA!

  • Chris jerricho is not overrated at all u 3rd grade cunt! Y2j is awesome

  • jericho knew his role in wcw. they were loaded with some of the best wrestlers all time. he couldnt compete in wcw with hogan, ric flair big show, bret hart, mr perfect, sting, luger, piper, ect. he was nothing more than a cruiserweight/tv champion.

  • @TheShootTruth10 When you mentioned Lex Luger, your entire argument was invalid. Luger cannot, could not, and never will be able to wrestle on Jericho's level. The rest are meh, they can wrestle, but Jericho is better in-ring competitor than some of those guys.

  • @ghostydef never said any of them can wrestle. I just said jericho couldnt even be champion with guys like lex luger. meaning that is pathetic on jerichos part.

  • @TheShootTruth10 Why exactly couldn't a better wrestler with just as much charisma not be a champion? Luger was a robot who was only pushed because he was big. Jericho was never pushed because he didn't have the "look." Who's the more successful wrestler? Jericho is a world class athlete, majority of those guys aren't.

  • @ghostydef why do you think guys like edge were champions along with jericho. none of the big names were there. when wrestling was at its peak these guys were jobbers.

  • @TheShootTruth10 Because of the booking. These guys were held down because of they weren't built like Gods like Luger or Hogan and weren't given the chance to shine. When they were finally allowed to cut promos and the like they've put on the some of the best wrestling matches and cut some of the best promos ever irrelevant to titles. They became big names, no one starts out as a big name.

  • @ghostydef bret hart, curt henning, ric flair, arn anderson, steven regal, gold dust, ect. in my opinion them guys will never be top 20 great wrestlers. just my opinion though and I have watching wrestling for years.

  • @TheShootTruth10 I disagree with you on Hart, Henning and Regal. Those guys are amazing wrestlers. Especially Regal: he trained Bryan Danielson, you might know him as Daniel Bryan and Danielson can outwrestle or match anyone on the WWE roster.

  • @ghostydef I said them guys were not huge steroids guys and were still successful.

  • @TheShootTruth10 Oh, my fault. Well, yeah they were awesome wrestlers. R.I.P Hennig.

  • @TheShootTruth10 Last I checked, Flair was No. 2, and Hart no. 4 on the PWI top 500 of the PWI years.

  • overall when taking everything into consideration ricky steamboat has to be top 10. jericho is overrated.

  • @TheShootTruth10 Disagree, when everything is taken into consideration, Steamboat isn't quite top 10, and Jericho isn't overrated. 20 years from now, people will probably be saying 'Jericho was so underrated, he was easily top 10!'

I honestly can't think of anyone besides Edge and HBK that has been as succesful as Jericho on the mic, in the ring, as a heel, as a face, as a comedian, as completely serious, etc. Steamboat is a legend and one of the most succesful ever, but still one-dimensional

  • @banjobenjo jericho wins titles in the dead era of wrestling with guys like edge. dont you know what happened in wrestling the last tens year dont matter.

  • @TheShootTruth10 I agree that championships mean nothing nowadays, hell, there's been 8 WWE Champions in the last 3 months. I'm not on about how successful he is as far as titles go though, I'm on about the fact that he's so diverse and excells at just about everything he does. If he came back tomorrow, he would easily be top 3 or 4 in the ring, top 3 or 4 on the mic, and could reinvent himself again and make it work.

  • @banjobenjo Steamboat is easily top 5 all time the ring and didn't need anything else other than being a great wrestler to be loved by the fans.

Jericho is great in his own right and is one of my favorites, but he can never compare to Steamboat and many others; Thats just the truth.

  • @WrestlingMarkTV Yeh, to an extent I agree. It's hard to put a definitive label on who is the best in the ring, and what style is the best. For some, great storytelling is the most important, others its submission wrestling, for others it is a hybrid of technical and high flying. I wouldn't personally put him above Bret, Owen, HBK, Benoit, Eddie, Hennig, Angle and a few others. His popularity was undeniable though. All around, I still believe Jericho is better. I still love Steamboat though!

  • i consider my self a chris jericho fan butt his opponent is the dragon steamboat sorry chris in this match you suck and ricky rules

  • Chris Jericho met Ricky Steamboat At a signing when he was about 17 years old.. imagine how great it was for jericho to wrestle his idol.

  • i can honestly saw i liked alot of wrestlers better than ricky steamboat and my favorite wrestler or all time isn't ricky steamboat... its bret hart... BUT NOBODY was better in the ring than ricky steam boat

  • @TheWalk330

tell that to those who are killing us by saying hbk is the best wrestler in history while ricky is way better than him

  • man those armdrags still look amazing

  • Amazing match. aweful (bad meaning) crowd

  • the crowd is rubbish

  • oh and btw, Jerry Lawler... the sun is not the center of the universe, it is the center of the solar system.

  • @respond2cowards lol yeah thinking of the honky tonk man sure does bring back some good memorys

his probly one of my faviourt wrestlers

  • Chris Jericho dosent play a good heel in my opinion but you have to give him credit for beating all those legends at wrestlemania I didn't see the match but I read it somewhere.that's impressive

  • @respond2cowards

yeah it was in a shoot interview

and i agree they wore good times , but i love to hate him as a seriouse heel to

  • @respond2cowards jericho said he wanted to stop the comedy because he didnt wona be a comedy act

  • Its a shame we couldnt have seen Steamboat vs Angle, or Steamboat vs HBK

  • who the fuck is booing steamboat at the end. no respect!

  • Simply put, both men are legends, but I think WWE dropped the ball too quick with Steamboat.

  • huge fan of both guys and great match. BUT 00:30 lol, jericho's feet are under the ropes (they weren't meant to) and instead of asking steamboat to release the hold, the ref pushes jericho's feet inside the ring. LOL.

  • 09 Steamboat > 95% of WWE's roster

  • Steamboat still has it, the problam is every time he wrestles all the other legends think they can too, but they cant, such a great wrestler and match

  • Meanwhile in 'Merica.

  • two of the greatest wrestlers in the wwf

  • I have so much respect for Steamboat, you could just tell by the look on his face how much this match meant to him. I bet it meant more to Jericho, since he was such a big Ricky Steamboat fan.

  • The Old Dragon still breathes fire, when I watched this I was thinking "You still got it."

  • theres no way i posted that comment two months ago, it was way longer than that

  • 56 years old and he still is better than Cena

  • @DylanM2K11 Amen

  • @DylanM2K11 Agree with u!!!

  • @DylanM2K11 Better than half the roster, for that matter

  • @SebKnowlton True...

  • This was really a great match! :) Steamboat proves, that you don´t need the ability to do hundrereds of moves, but still be a great wrestler, because you can make a great match!

  • steamboat is the man.

  • Wow Ricky Steamboat came to this match in shape, especially for his age.

  • An old dragon still has claws. Beware the Dragon.

  • wow this brings back a lot of WCW days!!!

  • I want my legends back!!!!! *cries* :'(

  • Proud to say the night after Wrestlemania, I was in the crowd chanting "You still got it!". Ricky shows that not all old wrestlers need to move on. Although, at his age, he could severally injure himself. I'd love to see him on a part-time basis, because he has been entertaining since he came back those years back.

I wish he could've done his fire tricks though. D:

  • @whatsittouboy he did severely injure himself :(

  • Steamboats Arm Drags are still awesome. 8-)

  • Ricky Steamboat has got to be best performer from just a strictly athletic standpoint.

  • Ricky Steamboat is the greatest babyface in the history of the business. He never needed to turn heel, and his abilities in the ring kept him likeable, kept him popular, and ultimately kept him babyface. Even Snuka was a heel before.

  • @jonbap426 i got to ask this but was rey mysterio ever been a heel

  • @TheSackue34 Yeah Rey was heel in WCW, I think he was part of the "filthy animals" group.

  • @jonbap426 - To be perfectly honest with you, I don't know. Maybe he was one in Mexico, but I sincerely doubt it. In WCW he was always a babyface and certainly always one in WWE. I guess Rey Mysterio could be near the top of that list, along with Tito Santana and Pedro Morales. Hey, wait a minute, why are all these chronic babyfaces minorities? Hmmmm..... I really just thought of that while typing, real talk.

  • Steamboats performance didn't suprise me at all. He was my favorite wrestler as a kid and him out performing hogan ,flair and any other guy from that era is a no-brainer as he out performed them back then. The most under-rated ever imo.

  • thumbs up if you think he can wrestle better than Cena

  • @ShortlistTV He's just a better character than Cena.

  • @ShortlistTV he a fucking true legend why the fuck u compare him to Cena?

  • Jericho = Best wrestler in the history

  • Ricky is in my top five favorite wrestlers of all time.

  • Jesus, Steamboat can still wrestle. This dude is king. I never appreciated him enough when I was little!

  • ARRRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM DRAAAAAAAG

  • This is a dream match if it was the Jericho of 2010 vs Steamboat of 87'

  • Great stuff!!!! Jericho is a modern day legend and Steamboat is one of the greatest. It's amazing how well he can still perform at his age.

  • Ricky Steamboat- You have impressed the hell out of me.

  • On this performace Steamboat could make a legitimate comeback! Great agility!

  • Wait, wait, when did RICKY THE DRAGON STEAMBOAT COME BACK?! can someone fill me in on this?

I haven't watched wwe since like early 08.

I just started watching again after my friend told me The Rock, Stone Cold, and a lot of other people came back.

  • @StevenHorror Same here I started watching it again, I haven't watched wwe since it turned rubbish from 2002, so Its good to see some decent wrestlers returning.

  • @StevenHorror If I remember he had a few (impressive) matches. He didn't come back full-time

  • @StevenHorror as far as I remember its start when Ricky being inducted at WM 25 and he have a match with Piper, Snuka against Jericho do a few match until then

    he's amazing in WM 25

he still got it and still amazing

  • holy shit, steamboat has virtually no ringrust, and hes been gone for soooo long, hes in crazy shape man, good to see him back.

  • news flash. steamboat has a better physique than jericho. and he's twenty years older.

  • ye thats wirde but it is cool

  • Holy crap ricky still has it

  • the theme of ricky steamboat is the theme of ultimo dragon?!

  • @ryuhoshi23 yup, exactly the same theme

  • Goosebumps when Ricky came out :)

  • dragons theme sounds like ultimo dragons

  • @copelandbarbee I think they're the same theme, I noticed that too a while ago.

  • Holy crap...Ricky Steamboat, at his age, is amazing. Definitely one of the healthiest wrestlers of his era at his age. The guy can still go when he wants to.

  • @WastedWilly yeah i was impressed as well, he would have looked much younger if he just shaved his head instead of the thinning everywhere look.

  • Wow, a legend that doesn't embarrass himself when he gets into the ring *cough*Hogan*cough*. Why can he wrestle better than 1/2 the current roster??

  • @wintergirl1223 Even better, Why canhe wrestle better than the face of the company??

  • @Gorrrillla5 you can think that if it makes you feel better

  • Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat has still got it.

I'm surprised this match wasn't on Chris Jericho's DVD.

He said Steamboat was his childhood hero,

and that he wanted to win the Intercontinental Championship

mainly because Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat had held it.

This match probably meant the world to Chris.

  • @TheAgeOfRunefire187 i thinks it's on the steamboat dvd that's why it wasn't on Jericho.. these two rule

  • @Gorrrillla5 yes

  • It's funny cause Ricky Steamboat was Chris wrestling hero when he was a kid and Ricky Steamboat last match was against Chris

  • GREAT MATCH

steamboat proved he could still do it in the ring

  • wrestlers are one of the few atheletes that get better with age. they know when to pull of moves and how to work a crowd. not just go for super move after super move.

  • @daabbot lol... hulk hogan is shit.....

  • "Come on, Ask him!" ~Chris Jericho trying to get Hall Of Famer, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to submit.

  • Its cool, that The Dragon can even wrestle ...

  • Ricky can still wrestle like it's nothing. True wrestler right there.

  • Half of these idiot kids are like derrr huh who wicky streamboot....morons.

  • i finally got this ricky steamboat in figure i gotted the wrestimain chris jericho 2009 1 with it to where he is wearing green he looks prober sick so does the ricky steam boat i just opened it now on christmas!!!

  • Ricky Steamboat can outperform almost anyone on TNA or WWE's roster at his age, amazing.

  • jericho has a loud voice every match hes in you can hear every thing he says

  • Steamboat was a crazy shape here considering his age. Wow!!

  • STILL! The best arm drag in the game after over 30 YEARS! The Dragon RICKY STEAMBOAT

  • Jericho can have a good match with anyone!

  • Man he's old

  • Pretty sure that's the same theme that UItimo Dragon used in WWE

  • @as260191

You need to learn your history bro, there is a reason behind that.

  • The dragon's fire still burns withing him but you might say his wings no longer support him

  • they say it was Jericho VS a legend but Jericho is a legend

  • "Listen to this ovation!"

What ovation? I know comments like this can be found on just about any recent match with an older wrestler in it, but it bears repeating. Many fans of WWE are upset that every time an older wrestler like Vader or Bret Hart come out, there's no reaction whatsoever. You'd expect some kind of pop wouldn't you? Does anyone know why WWE's fans are so apathetic now?

  • @imlaughing2death thats because the wwe audience consists for 50% out of kids who dont even know steamboat

  • Steamboat could so easilly have another run on WWE television and own half the roster! Fuck you John Cena kiddies, go back to see what WRESTLING was. Not some over hyped roid monkey

  • @XKonn You know that Steamboat is physically unable to wrestle any more, right? On the plus side, his son looks and wrestles just like him.

  • @RMXInsanity You mean the brain anyuerism? Yea, I read all about that. However on this night Steamboat was brilliant. I mean I remember the WrestleMania match, Snukka and Piper were embarssing, but Steamboat was magnificent.

  • thank god for the old school matches like this.

  • Ricky Steamboat in his late 50's is a better wrestler than hogan ever was in his 30's

  • steamboat vs lawler WM27!

  • @BreakingImageFilms yeah man!! both are still in great shape!! that would be awesome!!!

  • comenta

  • excellent picture quality

  • VINTAGE STEAMBOAT! LOL freaking cole just had to fit it in somewhere.

  • steamboats theme was the one ultimo dragon used to enter the arena to, wasn't it?

  • @CantSeeLight Yes Sir

  • @CantSeeLight it's the exact same one. they just added something to it

  • Wish Steamboat could've come out to Sirius--the original guy to do so

  • ASK HIM!!!

  • imagine this match if it was the steamboat of 20 years sgo vs the jericho of today

    Dream Match

  • damn he still can go props to Jericho for letting him go at that rate.

  • lol Steamboat dyed his hair for this match hahaha

  • If I can move half as well as that at 56, I shall count myself damn lucky.

  • It was this match that made me youtube the Steamboat-Austin match. First time I ever saw Austin with hair. Thank God he chose to stick with the bald look. LOL

  • The fans chanted "You've still got it!!!" during all three of his big matches involving Jericho.

And god damn it, they're right.

  • God damn it, he's 56 and still got it! the sad part is most of the raw roster can't wrestler better than a man who hasn't wrestled in 15 years!

  • If Ricky Steamboat can wrestle in his old gear, why can't Bret Hart?

  • @bluethunder25 Because when Bret Hart goes in the ring, he enters knowing he's not really going to wrestle. He doesn't want to get the fans' hopes up by coming out in the pink and black, only for them to be disappointed when all he does is a few punches, a couple chair shots, and the sharpshooter.

  • @bluethunder25 Because after a concussion and stroke that he never fully recovered from, he wouldn't want the fans to see him in the old pink and black attack gear and not able to wrestle the same style.
