I like that this album seems to be a cheerful, or route-to-cheer symphonic metal album. It is a nice change from the doom songs. Not all are like that, but many have that theme. This one is uplifting.

I think there's a reason to categorize music, though not to separate "cool dudes from losers." When asked my favorite genre of music, I like to say "symphonic metal" and people think of the correct bands like Delain, Within Temptation, Epica, and Nightwish rather than them think of Avenged Sevenfold, Lady Gaga, or Paramore. Categorization is to give someone a general idea of the music being referred to. That being said, I do realize that a few bands don't exactly fit into any mold for a genre.

I like thrash, black, groove, speed, power, core, but symphonic just doesn't "do it for me". Paramore isn't even metal but some of their stuff "does it" for me. They're not a joke, they're just a little simpler, softer. So what? Some people like that. Thumb me down but its my opinion.

@trexilll iam from the states and i wasnt exsposed to symphonicmetall until a year ago.i think god i did.ive heard flyleaf and paromore and i like them both.but dont give up on symphonic metal please they are some great bands out there.try my favorite band nightwish.i prefer the annete era better though .try out the dark passion album.within temptatation is also good,edenbrigre,sirenia,and epica.i love marks lyrics but the growing not so much.try the songs never enough,burn to a cender.

Personally I believe Meshuggah, Tool and Dream Theater (older) are much more talented and skilled then Delain, however, I love Delain just the same. It's good to have a broad taste in music, not limit oneself. I am not insulting Delain, trust me far from it, I just symphonic metal is not my favorite cup of tea. :)
