once metro gets thru with all of its other rail lines they need to place the blue line in a subway at both ends and grade separate the middle section. it looks kinda dangerous for long trains to operate on a boulevard like that
i ride this picse of shit everyday.....but love every minute of it 5 stars but mta really should invest in some newwer safer trains i was in the other day it felt like the train had derailed on the turn right after 1 street station that shit scared me we was going so fast lol
I completely agree, why is it that in San Francisco (and most European cities) MUNI light rail trains can actually share the road with cars, and riders can board the trains at street level without getting hit? I remember when a Metro Bus had collided with a Blue Line train; that was remarkably ironic.
Granted, the Blue Line trains are the oldest and don't seem to have been upgraded since the line opened long ago. Are the Breda trains not compatible with the old station platforms?
San Francisco Metro is operated more like a streetcar system (which mixes with the traffic). People in San Francisco are accustomed to trains running on the street because they have always been there. (Streetcars have run since 1892.) In LA there was a gap of 27 years since the last Long Beach trains ran. Most people forgot what it was like to have trains mix with traffic. Oh yes, when a streetcar hits an auto the the auto comes off second best.
0:34 thers only a handful of cars with that livery. what numbers are they?

@louky264 I never heard any of major accident along the Blue Line, so, I guess it's pretty safe.

It's not about train. it's about people make mistakes, trying to beat the train, etc... we don't need lousy car drivers.
