idunno......none come close to their excellent 'william' in my opinion......but this is good, especially the acoustic solo the electric lead which follows.
I thought I was the only one who remembered this song and saw these guys. This mix is way rough. I have the album with the final mixes and the much better guitar/vocal tracks. Plus the very very cool Moog/Arp violin touchs that were added. I've never heard this rough mix stuff before. Kinda cool but the final mix is much much better. These guys were fun to watch too. Bass player always had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Singer was great and always cool to talk to at the gigs.
The song is from the bands self entitled album: LIGHTNING, recorded at Sound 80 studios in Minneapolis around 1970-1971
The band was based in Minneapolis. The songs on the album from which you've taken the song "Freedom" contains several cuts from their commercially released album (the self entitled one) but they are not the finished product.
This band was tight and the musicians were all top notch.
E-mail me, I can send you a copy of the album on a cd for shipping only.
I would love a copy of the album.I pride myself on knowing a lot about rare music but I have since been put in my place as I search the web for stuff I never seen or heard of..I am loving this.
