Todays game has intensity of a different kind, not bad but unique. Just like these old playoff games have an intensity about them that is different from todays, but still wildly awesome and fun to watch. Great game, could of gone either way. Heck, the Blues had the game won if not for the puck rolling ALL the way across the goal line.

Wow, what a forgotten playoff game! If the Blues score in overtime and take a 2-1 series lead, then who knows what happens. But, Osgood made the huge saves (despite his frequent center-ice mishaps) and the Wings prevailed. Was that Shanny's last goal of the 1998 playoffs? I believe it was.

i think this was the key game in the series, if the blues would have gotten this one, i think it would have been tough for detroit to come back, especially after the macinnis center ice goal. regardless though, i miss these good old classic matchups, the way hockey should be!!!

@supercoop0125 Courtnall talked about it in a pr thing a year later. he skated past osgood to look and make sure the puck went in for himself. He then turned and said 'no way' in disbelief in the corner, couldn't believe it had happened. He wasn't really talking to osgood really in either instance. Just an FYI in case you cared to know. Not much Ozzie could've done anywho, it's travelling at 100 mph and skipping on the ice. Just a sick shot from a HoF defensemen

i loved when Blues and Red Wings played back then, like NHL was way better, but the Blues and Red Wings was ultimate, it was like the battle of colors. Crips vs. Bloods haha, Blues were one of my fav back then, I always hated the Red Wings, dont know why. Great time in NHL right there, but I think Grant Fuhr was reason Blues never beat Red Wings, cuz he gave alot of softies,

Yes, they did well at the end of last season. I actually was really rooting for them, but my point is their players really have no class what so ever. I know hockey is a really rough sport, but you gotta have some sort of respect on the ice. You see it in this video(Chris Pronger?) and you see it in their games today. Anytime I watch a St. Louis Blues game I'm thinking "Wow, I wonder how many slashes and gloves in the face the Blues players will give out after the whistle?"
