  • can these sounds still match music today do u think .....also how can u sav your songs can u record into a software programme

  • Nice! I especially loved the last one you did! Is this synth still in production?

  • @DorvellTStewart This is the original model from 2001. It has been updated several times - the current model is the Motif XF.

  • What's the keyboard on top of the motif?

  • @abcdefghijkl861 Probably my Virus TI Polar.

  • Hello mr wizard,

Id like to ask you .... do you personaly have a preference between the roland xr and the motif xs? in terms of sound I mean.

  • @bsimonenko To me the Fantoms seem to have a wider collection of sounds, while I really prefer the Motif's pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings, and drums. If I had to choose between the two, I would have a Motif.

  • skills!!!!

  • those synth companies should be paying you for promoting their product. You do it soo well..

  • @mpresev Thanks. I agree, but they don't. :)

  • @keybdwizrd criminals l.o.l..

  • Great great video thank you !

  • great great video than you !

  • Great videos you have out on Youtube. Thanks for posting them. 5 stars !!!

  • @DallasTroy2007 Thank you very much!

  • Ele tem os timbres maravilhosos mas o piano é idêntico aos psr da vida, péssimo...

  • Tá bom, mas gosto do piano.

  • Do you know how to split voices on a yamaha motif like bass on my left side and piano on my right side. I have too but its a motif 7 and it's also a classic.

  • Yes, the Motif has an ARP. It comes with a bunch of preprogrammed ARP patterns such as drum kits, guitar strums, bass riffs, etc. The XS is the current model with updated sounds and features, but I do not own one. Best to research that info at sites like Motifator.

  • Do you tweak the settings of the Grand Piano sounds/voices or is it the original setting that comes with the keyboard that you use? They sound really great!

  • These are the original settings - I have not tweaked them.

  • Okay, I have a MOTIF XS6 and I at one point didn't appreciate the quality of the sounds it produces, but I had to improve my music system (amps, mixer board, speaker) to get the real sounds which I now love. However, I find that to me, the Rock Grand Piano sound much brighter than the Full Concert Piano, so I use it alot more.

  • Doesn't matter if the keyboard is fawkin amazing, you still gotta have mad skillz to make it sound that good! Bravo!

  • Cool demo!

I really like the PowerGrand theme. Is that an improvisation? or is that a famous composition? there are triplets, aren't there?

  • It's a little original diddly of mine. The tune is in 3/4 time.

  • yoooo kiero tocar..ups!..i wanna play like u..love it.

  • Freakin incredible! i wanna a motif rack

  • I love stringy, sounds very nice and warm for me,

    as usually great demo Keybwizard.

  • its a XS MOtif or ES?

  • Neither one; it is the original Motif.

  • do they have a rhodes sound on the original motif?

  • Yes, many different versions.

  • @RUDOLPHLYRICS

Are you kidding??? YAMAHA OWNS at rhodes stuff. THE BEST, THE BEST, there are no words, just run to the nearest music store and hear them by yourself, youll loose your mind, as I did when i buy mine.

  • sorry, i meant 'when i bought mine" Sorry for that

  • I agree that the Yamaha instruments have the best Rhodes/electric piano sounds. Maybe "best" isn't the right word, but their patches are the ones I prefer the most. I gigged with a real Rhodes Stage 73, and frankly don't understand why anyone would want to use one of those things today (unless you have a road crew and a tech who can work on them). They're heavy, go out of tune, and have mechanical parts that can break. I'll take a Motif any day instead.

  • Excellent!

  • amazing playing, great piano too!

  • nice playing

  • I wanna play like you. where can I sign up?

  • lol your a boss ! "playing bread and butter sounds"...BUT YOUR Fingerings are best....love it !

  • Freakin incredible!

  • don't you think the time has come to unlearn your instrument man, this is all done so well, it's so boring.

  • Thanks for watching!

  • hey keybdwizrd-can you do splits on this module?

  • Yes, you can call up different patches and map them to different areas of the keyboard, if that's what you mean.

  • can the motif xs editor be used in FL Studio or is it only for cubase????????

  • I don't know, as this is the original Motif.

  • I do not Know if it is the best synth or workstation but still it is amazing . I own a Yamaha Motif ES6 for more than a year , which I use always in my compositions. I am still deep in love with it. And I have not used even 10% of its potential. A very deep synth indeed. Capable of very good mixing, sampling, audio processing, sound synthesis and being a all in one solution with no significant compromises. My best purchase by far. Nice video , keep them flowing.

  • Those are some sweet skills! Could you make a video with all motif synth lead sounds?

  • what do these things cost? anybody?

  • This is the original Motif model. Newer versions are available in a variety of models from all the major online musical instrument stores. Try Musicians Friend, Sweetwater, Zzounds, Nova Musik, etc.

  • a new motif xs6 will run around 2200 usd

  • as of nowadays, may 2008, 700-1000 used. this model was discontinued and suceeded by the motif 6 es. then as of I believe, last year, that was suceeded by the motif 6 xs which sells new for about $2200. I still use the original motif 6 and it still rocks!

  • thrilling.. your demo is great because it gives a perfect idea of the Motif's presets.

    Many complimemts,

    Paul76

  • Thank you - glad you enjoyed it!

  • Just beautiful. You really have skills ;)

  • Thanks for making this exellent demostration. Can you answer me something, in your experience how are the Motif ES sounds compared to motif clasic?

  • I am sorry, but I have no experience with the ES.

  • I can tell you what I think, the motif es was really not much different from the original motif. the major differences as far as I can tell was in the acoustic piano sound, which is a little better on the es and also, the smartmedia is much better for sequence storage on the es. I'm getting one this week. I wasn't in a rush cause I have been very happy with the original motif 6 but I got a good deal to upgrade so I am going to do that.

  • Which Motif is this--the classic one or the XS series?

  • Classic.

  • hi keybrdwizRd...

i'v watched many of your videos and is really

    inspired by your motif ...

    (your playing as well) ''

  • Dream Theater should fire Rudess and bring you up!!! AMAAAZING!

  • Just saw this... thanks, that is a tremendous compliment, as Rudess is brilliant.

  • Impressive stuff

  • Kak to lijepo radi...:)

  • Do you play the guitar as well? That guitar solo was amazing!

  • Thanks, but no, I cannot play the guitar.

  • great video! thanks for sharing!

how are motif's combo organ voices?

  • You're welcome. I think the Motif has some very good combo organ sounds.

  • Is that a CS2x you got there on top?

  • Virus TI Polar.

  • the strings part is eazy but all the others is har , wish i had someone to teach me how to play notes and put certain notes together

  • Love your playing. Wish I could play like that. Is that the Motif Classic or ES? I am saving up for the XS or the S90ES and will be starting lessons once I get it.

  • I'll be brief: impressive.

I liked the Strums part the most.

  • Thanks; I love the strum patch. :)

  • The demonstration is nice but how do we get those sounds and layers with the board. :)

  • They are factory patches, pure and simple.

  • ok now besided the playing how do we get those sounds using the damn Motif ?

  • They are all factory presets.

  • Playing as good as this, comes with years of playing experience... awesome :) love watching you play.

    Rob

  • Pardon my newbie-ness, but are these presets or did you edit patches to get these sounds?

I enjoyed it, it was nice.

  • Thanks, these are all factory presets.

  • Amazing, I agree wtih Shubus, the music is great!

    Good stuff. :)

  • sweet demo man, thanks! I wish I could get this synth .. I love it.

  • Great keyboard that only a good keyboardist like you deserve.

  • I learned how to write MIDI drum parts (and quite a lot of other things) from studying your XG scores. You gave me some great MOD wheel tips years ago in an email. Thanks for making those great XG MIDI files back then available--it was a great education.

  • Recognized "Marin County Afternoon" from the good 'ole days of your fully sequenced XG period. Your music always is more interesting than any synth you play.

  • Good catch. :) That's a very nice compliment... Thanks for listening.

  • more of these please! 5/5*
