  • Hey, how do you make those arrows? I mean like what's the "brush" that you used to make them?

  • Great! so good to understand and helpfull. thanks a lot :)

  • im amazing at backfllips but even good people need to come back for advice right

this should make my backflip HIGHER

  • @JmansFragments ...well done

  • en français ca donne

  • Jump and tuck .

  • THIS should be the first result for a backflip tutorial!

  • I Have it Like This PERFECTLY!

  • @greenday07ryan thanks i appreciate it guys

  • any advice on head placement...ive heard to tilt your head back and ive also heard not to tilt your head back..it seems like you keep your head neutral...?!

  • Don't tilt your head back at any cost :)

  • @triddles89

It's best if you try to stare at something directly infront of you up until you get into the tuck and start going over. Don't tilt it back.

  • @triddles89 no. if you wanna gain height, then you have to keep your head straight. tilting your head back means that your whole body titls back, cause your spine follows your head. if you keep your head straight then your whole body remains that way. that gives you height and thus more time to rotate. it takes a lot of practise and experience to learn not to tilt your head back.

  • @KosticFreerunner makes sense..thanks for breaking down the WHY..i really appreciate it bro

  • @triddles89 when you learn that your back flip will prob look pretty nice. however, tilting your head back helps you rotate faster. so if you wanna keep your head straight make sure you tuck really fast and tight in order to rotate.

  • @nopacnone How do I actually rotate? I can't get myself to... I only go straight up.

  • @19bfrick94 tuck only with your legs; only move your legs to your torso, and don't move your torso to your legs

  • I do it the first time i tried !

    NO IT'S A JOKE !

  • How do you get so much hight? I can land this with no problems, but your backflip is near perfect. How do you propose I get better?

  • how do you even get that high o.O

  • highest backflip i ever seen :D

  • hi andrea , thank you very much for this tutorial, it helped me a lot! keep on

  • Can you give us a cork tutorial PLEASE. i practised so long but i can't do the cork please.

And shame on me for doing this joke.

  • This shit is motherucking pro editing damn

  • first time you do this properly is like learning to ride a bike, just even better!

  • Comment removed

  • its more fear than anything :(, im dieing to do it i can do it of a wall but on the groud i just feel my self to heavy :/

  • HAHA this music sounds like SUMA DELUXE

  • I've always been able to do this because I always have used this technique.

  • Eureka! By far the best tutorial I've came across. Thank You

  • good ab workout, just do 30 a day and u'll end up with a 6pack in no time

  • @zzz573 Oh, definitely! I could feel it the first day I started practicing them!

  • French tutorial ? Please

  • Maybe one of the cleanest and smoothers backflips Ive ever seen. Although the tutorial doesnt explain the phisical requirements to perform such trick. p.e: good lower abs, powerfull legs etcetera

  • @batty256 It one of the best visual "perfect circumstances" tutorials I've seen, but I agree, he doesn't specify. But if people are stupid enough to try it unaware of their physical condition, it's kind of their fault.

  • This was the first trick I learned, took me an hour in my backyard haha

  • I succesfully landed mine today on the trampoline for the first time on my own - YES! ;D

  • the disliker failed D:

  • I'm still landing crouched :/ I really need more height but I dunno how I guess I'll just practice abit more

  • Hey noticed when you tucked you kept your legs apart a little does this help?

  • @BboyDyme This wont effect the backflip, how far apart you place your legs is a comfort thing.

  • @surfpunk70

Ahh ok, because i see alot of gymnast keep them wide apart when they go for a double or triple backtuck, A.K.A Cowboy tuck.

  • @BboyDyme hmm well it isn't really relevant for a single back tuck, but i suppose keeping your feet parted during a double or triple back tuck would allow for a tighter tuck and hence faster rotation, because you would be able to put your head between your knees

  • @BboyDyme Basically the only time u tuck with ur legs wide open is in a double to avoid hitting your chin

  • @zandor96 Oh damn! really?? i never knew that

  • one guy fell and broke his neck

  • Gooosh, I've gotta learn this on my trampoline...

  • accidentally one man pressed the dislike button:(

  • When I do a backflip I don't get enough height and I rotate slowly, but I think these tips are going to help me out a lot! Thanks for the great vid.

  • i am just jealous. this is the MOST beautiful backflip ever. period

  • waw what a cool video and nice backflip

  • wow that was really fast!!

     Were u in the olymics

  • one person still cant do a backflip smh its 2011 if u cant do one by now ur useless lol

  • andrea catozzi's backflip...

  • Definitely, by far, an amazing backflip... You make it look like walking and breathing... But at the same time!!!!

  • Definitely the best backflip I've ever seen. I'm going to study this every day.

  • thanks this helped me out wit ha nunchaku routine im working n the last move is a backflip into a front splits :)

  • O_o

    very high :O

  • BEST TUTORIAL I'VE SEEN ON THIS!! THANKS!

  • Dang i land on my knee's when i do it on a crash mat :( I dont get it lol i can do double fulls on a trampoline and over rotate some times....any tips?

  • @Jona10washere . I hope this helps: Think that you have to do 3 phases on a backflip. 1: Going up. 2: Rotation. 3. Landing. Equal share for all. I think you are not doing enough number one, you are skipping it and going straight to number 2. Thats what everybody does for like hundred first times atleast, because its scary to go high and rotate backwards. And then you cant land because you are not jumping up properly. So think UP for a longer time as you do a backflip.

  • Man i have 2,05 Meter height, do you think i'm able to do a back or front flip?

  • OMFG DUDE THANKS THIS REALLY HELP NOW I CAN DO STUNT I CAN DO ANY FLIP AND I CAN DO CHUCK NORRIS FLIPS OMFG THANK YOU SO MUCH AND I CAN SHOOT FIRE BALL RIGHT UP MY ASS EVERYTIME I JUMPED

    /watch?v=xpZu-YoJaq8

  • hey why u have same videos as AndreaCatozziHD, now youtube has 2 same version tutorials

  • HELP: i've watched this video countless times and im still having trouble with my backflips. When i flip, my landing position is about three or four feet behind where i started and i think that's why i don't get as much height. Im not sure what im doing wrong, even when i follow these steps exactly i always go back. Unfortunately i can't upload a video at the moment but for those you think they can help you can watch one of my old videos doing standing backflips.

  • @NinjaBanx tuck your head in

  • @NinjaBanx I would say that we have the same problem. I think that it we go back because we focus to much at the start to throw our hands back and then swing them up and we forget to tilt our upper body just a little bit forward to make the jump go straight up instead of backwards. I had another problem to when I first learned how to backflip and I did gainers instead. :P Hope this helps.

  • @NinjaBanx Your center of gravity is the key here. Its a point in your core bit lower than your bellybutton. So when you jump, you have to think that you want your center of gravity to go straight up, not backwards. So you almost push your stomach to the front as you jump. So chest tilts back, legs rotate front and up, and center of gravity is launched straight up. If you manage this, your center of gravity will land straight back to the same spot, hopefully after a succesfull salto to your feet.

  • Personallly don't need this tutorial, but i have to comment to commend the quality of it. Great job guys :)

  • Thx for the tutorial! I'm trying to fight the fear! LOL

  • @victornyalita lol thats the most hard part, i would suggest on a trampoline, then standing on a trampoline, then off an object and then on the floor. That takes away a lot of the fear because you are gradually learning it. But TBH you really just need to go for it and you will land it.

  • fantastic

  • that was a high jump ! I need to lose 40 pound to get back to do backflips :-)

  • afterbang, sick

  • I always liked his style of tricking. Very inspiring =)

  • This tutorial is outstanding! It's so concise, yet every detail you need to know is packed into this minute-and-a-half tutorial. Excellent job!!

  • it is tutorials like this that have really helped me.. it was very well explained and well executed. ^_^ good work. ps.. since you're good at it and all... why not make more?.. i'm sure we'd all appreciate it.

  • I am loving the breakdown. Its so refreshing to see the creative ways you interpret the tips and how to convey them through the freeze frames.

  • ug!!! dude your backflip is unhuman. it reaches godly levels. goodness. i miss being able to do backflips i must relearn.

  • Suberb backflip, absolutely amazing. By the way, you actually arent tucking your knees to your chest, you are pulling them up and towards your ears. Pulling them to your chest would not rotate you enough. The axis of rotation is on the level of your shoulders. So the tuck aims to move your center of balance around that axis rather than squeezing you to a ball.

  • @bary1234 I am sorry but you really need to know your facts before you give out information like it is truth. As a gymnastics teacher and a Bachelors in Kinesiology your axis of rotation is well below your shoulders, infact it is at your hips, on women it is a little lower.

  • @onTOPtheROCK : Thanks for taking the time to debate this, I appreaciate the conversation, and your efforts to teach me. And no way is the axis of rotation as low as your hips on a backlip :)

The balace point of a human-shaped object is on the hips, and a bit lower on women. But It is not the center of rotation on a backflip. Or just about any movement.

Just look at this clip. I admit it is not exactly on the level of shoulders either, but its up there. Way higher than the balance point.

  • @bary1234 I can admit when i am wrong, and after watching the clip in slow motion and even really taking the time to feel my own back tuck, i concur. The axis of rotation is not the hips, and like you said, it is not the shoulders either, but somewhere in between. So neither of us were correct with our original statements. I never mind a friendly debate, thank you for being civil, unlike many are on the web these days :)

  • @onTOPtheROCK : Thanks, thinking about these things is always good. And this is a subject very close to my own heart, too :) I teach in a Circus-school in Finland. Mental image of pulling the knees up to your ears, and rotating as if the axis is on your shoulders, seems like a helpful idea when learning a backflip. Especially if you fly from trampoline, russian bar, teeterboard or basket-toss.

  • @bary1234 Dude, thank you so much for this info. This really might get me that extra edge.

  • Awesome tutorial. Thanks for posting a tutorial that is for people more advanced in their backflip progression.

  • I'm glad you made a tutorial for people that can already backflip but need help landing on flat. I know I needed it. Thanks.

  • amazing backflip :)

  • andrea has an incredible height :O

    btw: 1000th viewer!

  • This looks soo easy, now I think I can do one, except I know I can't :D The fear is very big for me. I'm even afraid when I try one on the trampoline : (

  • I used to be, too, in fact, this last summer, I was terrified to even try one on a trampoline. Now I can do them on hard surfaces without fear, it's all about progression.

On the trampoline, reconcile your fear with this fact: I've landed on my head before on the GROUND. Doesn't hurt. Just keep your hands out and throw yourself into a sloppy backflip/back handspring, and eventually the fear will wear away on its own, and you can learn the right technique. Hope this helps.

  • @AndrewClocksinPK Dude thanks a lot this helped me like crazy now i can do backflips any where really helped ty!!!

  • this is really useful tutorial! gonna improve my backflips!!!

  • The guitar sound is nice.

    Anybody knows the title?

    thanks

    DK

  • best backflip tutorial by far... really in-depth. love it

  • the perfect back flip magnnifico....

  • I just landed a backflip on a trampoline. Im slowly learning to do it with less and less bounce. Im going to try on the ground in a few days. This helps alot.... oh and if i fail and break my neck ill have someone type a comment for me saying I did...seeing as ill be paralyzed and all :P

  • Andrea, please make tutorial to get a higher front flip.Thank you:)

  • i have to say, i was able to do this move already, but now its much higher,

    thank you!!!!!

  • also helps to remember keep your shoulders back, right?

    (just sayin.......)

  • @Varggorm y what does that do?

  • @Varggorm why what does that do?

  • @trulgn that lets the momentum of your legs carry over. if you are hunched over when you jump, your knees lose momentum as they meet your shoulders. then you go up, but not over.

    that's what i hear

  • I've checked so many backflip tutorials but this on is particulary. Somehow Andrea has the most beautiful and stretched position ever. But still, I can't get this height and I'm still very stretched.

  • @magog3run It takes a lot of practice to perfect the back flip. Just keep working it.

  • Perfect technique= flawless flips :)

  • Thanks, you helped me(I think so)

  • Damn, now that's a smooth landing, really looked effortless. Reputation and patience is the key, perfect technique.

  • Yeah no kidding... That was an unbelievably easy looking backflip. Flawless.

  • HIGH

  • Nice
