I'm a gun owner, why hasn't anyone suggested a license like you have to get for a car, for a gun. Why do I have to wait 3 days for a handgun, _after_ I already have one. Three day waiting list, is not preventing people with no firearm safety education from buying guns. Extended mags are not the issue.

In fact the NRA has consistently said that a number of gun laws are entirely appropriate, hell they've ADVANCED several of them (including ones adding over a decade of imprisonment if you carry a gun during a crime). While it seems obvious to ban gun ownership by individuals on a Terrorist Watchlist, the mere listing of a name does not constitute the necessary Due Process required by our legal system to restrict a persons rights. Whether or not they're objectively a bad or dangerous person is immaterial. Rights cannot be restricted without due process and it's dangerous to start making exceptions under any circumstances.

I'm a gun owner, why hasn't anyone suggested a license like you have to get for a car, for a gun. Why do I have to wait 3 days for a handgun, _after_ I already have one. Three day waiting list, is not preventing people with no firearm safety education from buying guns. Extended mags are not the issue.

@DrChrispocalypse whille accidents happen i think the more likely one to happen in that situation would be the idiot shoots himself. i live in Arizona, ironically, which is an open carry state. meaning as long as whatever im carrying can be seen at 3 different angles i can carry into most places. obviously bars, and government buildings for example i cannot. i plan to use it everyday, do i? no. but if the need should arise that i need to protect myself or others then i have it, and im prepared

There not going to have it out flinging it around everywhere, they will only use it if it's absouletly necessary. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. And even if you do outlaw guns there will be even more crime because of people's intentions with the gun they got from some dealer won't be good or why else would they have it? They may be really hard to find but the people that find them there not going to use it for good things. Therefore the only people that have them are going to use it for crime, while the people that use the guns responsibly are going to be left defenceless.

I have a coworker who would always be stopped at the airport cause his name happened to be on the list...granted, it wasn't HIM on the list, but someone with the same name. The Constitution says a person can not be deprived of their rights without due process of law...so that means a trial by jury before my 2nd Amendment or any rights can be taken away. That's the law of the land...Does it expose us to a greater terror risk? Yes. But that's part of living in a free country. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. The first amendment allows people to come here and practice whatever faith they want. Do we limit religious freedom to stop terror? Heck no!

No one can be stripped of their constitutional right (2nd or other) without due process (found guilty on court or pleaded) just because someone in some agency said so. Majority of Americans believe in US constitution and gun rights. This is why we are still free.
