Congratulations Susanna! You are doing an amazing job. I am still impressed to see how good pronunciation you have earned by listening to music. I also do that myself and it really helps me learning most of the languages that I speak. I am proud of people like you, that spread out their knowledges in such an enthusiastic and motivating way. I still have some issues to solve with my english pronunciation (I am spaniard). However listening to english music is helping me Once again congratulations!
@joclar88 Thanks for your encouragement! Being public about one's journey is not easy. Besides music, movies and TV play a huge role in helping one copy the natural rhythm patterns of a native speaker. If you don't already, watch English language TV and movies. Pay close attention to how the actors move their lips and face to speak and try to copy them. ¡Adelante!
you seem very fluent in these languages. portuguese is a weird language eh? kind of doesn't sound so much like spanish or italian. your serbo-croatian skills are great...you cheated on the russian though :)
The name of Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian is an issue, no matter where I am. In the US, if I say I speak Bosnian (as I lived in Bosnia and know the accent, spelling and particular words better than those of Croatia or Serbia), very few people will know what language that is. But if I say Serbo-Croatian (as unpopular of a term it is in the former Yugoslavia), more people recognize what language I'm referring to. It's my weakest language as I rarely practice. Thanks for listening!
Respect to your language skills! The one that I can "judge" most, is "Serbo-Croatian". Anyway, I was surprised to hear that you are using that expression... I don't think that somethink like "Serbo-Croatian/Croato-Serbian" exists, we have a course in my Slavic faculty called "Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian" or "BCS", an expression that I like much better. I would say that you speak Serbian with slight Russian tones and intonation, at the same time you are very fluent. Just saying... :)
