I got The Tomos LX. It's looks awesome but is slow as hell barely get it to 30 without biturbo. Also with biturbo only reaches 35 Mph. I would say just by a used moped that is older my friends just got a 2002 great condition for 500$ and it goes 45.
@kpongr2 you've got that right or Tovarna Odpadnih Materialov Oziroma Smeti----just a joke but tomos isn't what it just to be anymore for me it's tomos mopeds from 1995 and down...
I'd like to have a moped but if possible have a special made engine on one, instead of a 50 cc, build a 100 cc engine, then ....on top of that have performance exhaust , header, and carb jetting done to make it even faster, and have all this on the basic pedal style moped frame, because where I'm at you don't need a license or insurance on the pedal style mopeds. 45-50 mph would be a good cruising speed.
How fast (in Km/h) you could drive with a 50ccm Scooter or Moped in the USA?
Is it legal to tune them up, or do you have to own a bigger Driver license for more then only 50ccm Scoots? From the 60´s up to the 80´s you could drive so fast as you could in Germany. Now the Speed is limited on 45Km/h for 50ccm Scoots, that sucks
PS: If you want to have nice Scoots, go to Europe and bye a Yamaha Aerox, Peugeot Speedfight 2, Piaggio NRG Power, Gilera Runner, MBK Booster.
where those 2stroke engines like in the old days? :D tomos could get a whole lot of more power out of those machines with exhausts that have expansion chambers and proper headers, those that they use now look like 4stroke exhausts :) would love to see a tomos with a modern 50cc 2stroke engine since the AM6 engine har enough power to make a modern moped that weights about 100kg go over 75kmh without any modifications :) just think about that on a lightweights tomos frame :P
yeah it's great that Tomos still makes moped as most companys don't. altough they are at least 50% just assmbeld from parts some of it is still original Tomos, i hope they get back to their old glory. Tomos mopeds are noting special but hey they are mopeds so that kinda makes them special and heck they are from where i am, Slovenia. :P
