never said i was glad to see em go. i was sad. chill with the negitives lol. phil is part of the 1980"s good days like me. im glad hes still on a good roll then. thanks for the info.
So happy I came across this video. Hope it's a rumour about his hearing. Such a talented performer with an amazing voice. The only guy I know that can play the drums and sing at the same time.
He has had hearing loss in one ear but, no that isn't why he retired. He has two small children from his third marriage adn wants to be the dad he wasn't able to be with his older three children. He still plays...He isn't deaf, didn't have a back injury and didn't die...Which are three of the reasons I've seen given on youtube for him being out of the limelight. He's livig his life!
@kramertmarie you are true abt the children's reason...but he did have a life altering back injury that left him unable to hold drumsticks...hope he will recover
I was looking for this too. I have it on CD somewhere and finding it on here was easier than trying to dig it out. No idea the name of it "Souareba", so I was glad to find it at all by phonetic word search of a few lyrics. Thing is, when the search led me here, I knew it was mistaken. Finally, a month later, again with the same search results, led me back here and you're right, segen123 here it is, the full version.
Malian artist Salif Keita's Soureba has to be among my favorite pieces. I endear voices of children and cherished this greatly since I originally thought the chorus voices were children's. As daughter of the ancient Sheshi--that the voices are in fact Malian women makes Keita's artistically crafted serenade even closer to my heart. Either his voice & instrument his sister's? I heard doing background on "Red Earth" by Dee Dee Bridgewater, an earthday CD from my sister, her co-ed. Peace Salif
I was looking for this song for a long time and this is the only full version i found, i saw it few times on TV on my country....a very nice song and Phil of course is great
To all of you who are waiting for the Genesis concert 2007, be prepaired for a great event. I've seen it in Dusseldorf/Germany on Wednsday. Since then I'm in a kind of fever, searching for every bit on youtube.
Great video. My wife and I saw this concert in Chicago Sept, 2004. It was our first concert and luved it. We are going to see Genesis in October 2007.
excellent composition of these wonderful photos. I went to the concert in Los Angeles at the Staples Center and this video just brought me right back.
Sorry. I have to admit that the only Salif Keita song I know is Souareba. And I only know it because it was used as pre-show music on several Phil Collins tours.
I have been looking for this song by Salif Keita. LOVE the children's voices!
