Looks more like a newt to me. But it seems like it would make more sense to make a reptilian suit out of something like vynil or plastic, something that has a shinyness like scales do. People spend hundreds even thousands of dollars on those things so price is only a partial limitation. though not sure where you would find vinyl with scale texture molded in. Might have to settle for some airbrushing.
