As for the band's name, it does not stand for anything. They came up with the name while flipping through an English dictionary, and liked it so much they decided to keep it..
The first line sounds like "All of us say we do". The "In which we make sure no one got hurt" would fit, except for one word, into the chanting (or "ooh"-ing) part from :56 to 1:12. Whatever.

Depth in music is not an objective size, so he maybe didn't bring enough proof for you (What would you even call proof in this matter) but he did bring something more than 3 periods in every sentence. I heard it for the first time yesterday, and had to know who it was.. thought it was cool that this was Mew, since my old best friend and music buddy from hs has been telling me for a while now that I would really like them, and I should check them out.. I guess I should have listened to her advice sooner! but happy I finally discovered them nonetheless :)

The word 'mew' means the sound a kitten makes, or the cry of a seagull.
As for the band's name, it does not stand for anything. They came up with the name while flipping through an English dictionary, and liked it so much they decided to keep it..

The first line sounds like "All of us say we do". The "In which we make sure no one got hurt" would fit, except for one word, into the chanting (or "ooh"-ing) part from :56 to 1:12. Whatever.

"In which we make sure no one got hurt" is actually not in the lyrics.
It's a subtitle for the song. In other words, they're saying in the making of this song they made sure no one got hurt.
"In which ..." used to be a common way for authors to provide a summary to a chapter or essay.
He does seem to say something before the "What is it that you do," but it certainly is not "In which we make sure no one got hurt."

i just think that mew loves to be very cryptical and doesn´ t sing anything that make sence in the first line! the closest thing i can come up with after several carefull listenings is something like " all in all/on and on said me too/to/two" pretty weird! :P
