Sweet Jesus that's a good job! Thanks for this. I aspire to this level of work. My first quarter- sawn roll-top desk came out a crazy quilt, an explosion of brown-tinted Titebond glue and bits of oak veneer EVERYWHERE! Fortunately the customer seemed to like anything I did to their furniture (although I can't imagine why!). I'm ashamed of the beginner job I did.. Veneer is a furniture fact of life...Half of what I do is veneer repair. ''First...do no HARM!!''
The only way I know is if it's not too large an area is to make sure it's dry and sand the raised area flush with the top. Then you can route out a thin area for a veneer patch or putty over sand putty over again and sand and touch up and fake in the grain with color and finish . Good luck, Dave
You know it was possible to repair the burn without removing the table from the site. I do such repairs all the time - and in a fraction of the time it took you to strip, patch and refinish the table top. Interesting process you used, though, and the end result was good.
@nwaikikai Thanks for the comment but I doubtt you could have repaired this table on site and make it so you don't see the repair. Sure you can fill the damage and touch it up but it wouldl always be noticeable.

Thank You, The patch was well matched. I had to take special care to get it to show for the video.
