  • wow bro could i borrow your light saver?.... oh never mind, that's a dislike bar....

  • mjptha3d i agree completely never take lessons from a white guy with an alto unless its brecker

  • Hmm...how about you ask Brecker to teach, instead of this fool.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

You, sir, have now found yourself in the musician circle on Facebook as the current guy for us to make fun of. You should be proud. Heck, go use that as a pickup line, since it's more truthful than "I'm a jazz musician."

  • Aaaaaaargh. this guy doesnt know what he is talking about!!!!!!! improvisation existed in jazz far before Louis Armstrong!

  • omg. improv started WAYY back then with the continuo, even before bach. ( 16th century ). Damnit man.

  • the tital is such a lie, it says HOW TO it just talks about improv, i can play impov, i just wanted to see what videos are on you tube

  • It's Expert Village, what do you expect?

  • What was the point of this video?

  • @TheJSax to show you how rubbish expert village is?

  • hilarious!

  • amen to that

  • people like bach and mozart were improvising far before armstrong.

some even consider people such as mozart as the first 'jazz' musicians

  • Eh... Improvisation has been around since the very beginning of music, not because Louis Armstrong "dropped his music" All this Expert-Village crap is nothing but, well, crap.

  • some very amateur improv at the beginning and not that much was said after that, i don't believe that story about louis armstrong is true

  • thats total bull there are faaaar more than 3 types of improv and improv has been around for as long as there has been music, not since armstrong. as great as armstrong was, no one can 'invent' improv.

expert village, GET A REAL SAX EXPERT!!

  • that story is not true. that is when louis armstrong started scatting like Heebie Jeebiesnot improvising. improvising was happening way before that . get ur facts straight retard!

  • where can i find this full video

  • You guys are terrible even though he may not be able to improve this lessons are free theirs no reason to be so mean and i play clairnet and thats a master of all the saxs after all saxophones come from the clairnet And eddie daniels owns yall sax players execpt for paul desmond cause he was awesome and dont forget phill woods also plays clarinet

  • ok first, saxes came from brass. the origanal sax was an instrument that you buzz into. then the other woodwinds came along. Second, i agree with you on the other people being too mean.

  • saxes were invented by a belgium clarinetist named adolphe sax in 1846, he also invented other instruments that were never as popular like the saxhorn (brass)

clarinets came about around the 1600's

  • ...and boom goes the dynamite!

  • Thanks...that free lesson was worth every cent

  • yeah to bad you can't improvise for shit go home

  • tenor sax is the master of all sax bitches!!!!

i have to play alto in my wind ensamble next year but thats cool

all my sax buddies got into that band and except for these two chicks we are the sax section

and since our director doesn't really care as long as the part is covered we can switch amungst our selves next year is gonna be fucking amazing

  • alto is better.

    I'm sorry but it's true.

  • This guy should be Banned from Education for so many reasons, A. he cant play saxophone. B. He doesn't know what he's talking about, And C he is a complete tool

  • agreed.

  • what i have learned over the years as a jazz musician is modal jazz focused on melody, not scales. look at miles' "so what". 2 chords, if all you did was played scales it would sound bad. They mostly focused on creating lyrical melodies instead of just playing changes.

  • LMFAO, even if that story is true, that guy made it sound so unbelievable that i think its bollocks.

  • The story is of course not true.

  • LOL

  • he looks like my sax teacher. I think that he is an alcoholic (<is that good word?)

  • to all those who say he sucks, wheres your teaching video? I would love to see you guys do better then him but you wont because your all a bunch of hating numbnuts who dont post videos

  • the standard for expert village is slipping fast... this guy sucks.

  • he looks like a math teacher or something

  • ur not good

  • Awesome. These are the best unintentionally funny videos ever.

  • Completely bull. Rubbish video.

Standards of experts village are slipping big time.

  • total crap, that guy can't play to save his life either!!

  • this is such b.s...what kind of jokers make these stupid videos?

  • Here' some expert advice for you, PRACTICE, for like 3 million f#$%ing hours, shit...

  • i've a question... i really want to learn saxophone... but i don't know what to play, a tenor or an alto sax... can anybody suggest please...

  • alto is probably easiest to start on then move or stay to whatever you prefer.

  • tnx!!

  • I'm pretty sure that improvisation was really popular a lot earlier than ARMSTRONG, think J.S. Bach, etc.

  • The "paper drop" incident was about armstrong discovering Scat-singing (not a fact, more of a "legend" :) ), not improvisation on his instrument, and there are actually 5 different types of improvisation; Formulatic, Paraphrase, Motivic, Collectiv and Modal improvisation. Otherwise, nice video...

  • lol Louis was not the first, jazz improv dates back to 1900. however Louis was the first GREAT improviser you could say and was the best at the time but improv had been going all long before him.

  • true didnt cave men improvise ,

  • so louis armstrong was the first jazz improvisor???

no other trumpets during a dixieland collective improv solo use improvisation?

    thats amazing!

  • Great, Mich. Thank you

  • nice
