R.O.B is part of a special system that used to help u play a certain game (dont remember which) youd have the little robot sit next to u as u play the game (yes sit next to u in real life) then u play the game as he opened the path for u. nintendo was paying a memento to him. he's also starred in a few other games. the only one i remember he starred in is mario cart ds as the final character. no one knows about R.O.B because his game was old and unpopular for a lot of ppl.

according to some reviews ive read mario seems to be a strong favourite as he's easy to control compared to the likes of Sonic, who is apparently too fast to control with ease.

also no nunchuk is necessary, although you can play with it, along with three other methods: 1. a gamecube control 2. a retro control 3. just the WII remote lying on its side (like on various racing/driving games)
