a lot of times an inmate on or coming down from a drug "high" will begin to cause bodily harm to themselves sometimes resulting in death. we had an inmate just like this one in the video who began head butting the door, broke the "unbreakable glass" and began cutting himself, we had to go in and restrain him. the inmate has paroled out now and I ran into him at a gas station the other day and he thanked me for us saving his life and is upholding a full time job. hopefully he stays rehabilited

Meth heads are so friggin' dangerous. The police are here to protect the rest of us from idiots who are out of control, a danger to the rest of us, and slowly killing themselves without regard to anyone else. Instead of justifying the use of drugs by people who rationalize their own lack of control, how about getting behind the men and women who put their lives on the line for us? Tazers are better than bullets and injured cops.

u know what would be even better than taking them off to jail? having them go to a special place with padded walls. the police shouldn't have to handle special cases like this, let the thousands of psychologists deal with them.

my theory considering the video i saw is the electricity shocks your nervous system, which sends pain signals to your brain causing you to wake up, if you will, from his state of aggression and takes him back to a level, conscious mindset.

The video is carefully edited to remove this part, but presuambly he needed to be taken to trial. You can't just leave someone in a jail cell indefinitely; it's a holding pen until they go in front of a court.

and actually voltage really has nothing to do with it. u can discharge nearly 20,000 volts just from rubbing and scuffling you feet along the carpet. amperage is what matters.

Actually they were within their rights. If someone is about to attack you, you can defend yourself, its called pre-emptive strike. In this case, the guy needs medical help, they needed to get in there and help him, but to just walk in would mean they would be attacked by him. Remember this is non lethal, its all down to keeping everyone safe

He's lucky that he delt with the local PD where he got tased. He's able to recover with in seconds. If he delt with CHP they would either OC his ass which would take up to an hour to recover or worst yet get shot with a 40 cal and take weeks to recover.
