  • Oh and no offence because I can tell there is a shit load of work into this but IMO it looks terrible riced out.

  • now im new to cars but what is a twincharge? is it a turbo and supercharger?

  • @uniquedeath Twincharged means that the Turbo feeds into the FUNCTIONING Blower..This is not twincharged seeing as the blower doesnt have a belt to make it functional..

  • @TheMrhoneycutt ahhh okies thanks man

  • @TheMrhoneycutt

That was one of the first runs of the setup. I didn't want to spin the blower the first 2000 or so miles while breaking the engine in ;) The bypass valve was open so it ran just fine with the turbo only. It's more fun when it's riced out and has a "3.1L V6 160HP" stickers on the doors ;) Then I hear comments like "Man, that's not fair..."

  • @coolflames1979 I meant the riced out thign as that the exhaust is kind of ricey and so is the fenders and hood..But still that is IMO and I can respect the work you put into the car.

  • Damn bro how much did that build cost you?

  • Not to sound like an ass, but isn't it technically not twincharged than...

  • thats one sexy ass engine cant wait to twin charge my 04 monte

  • Is that an M90 with a different snout?

  • No, it's an MP112 with the optional snout, which by the way is the worst engineered part in the whole blower, I had to modify it quite a bit, not shown here, look in my cardomain site, look for a 1996 cutlass

  • Nice, did you modify the lower intake manifold yourself so the MP112 would fit? If so you should think about marketing some kind of service, I have a feeling a lot of people would be interested.

  • this car is minttttttttt

  • is that a dohc?

  • no, it's an L67

  • it stands for Dual Over Head Cam

  • where did you get your fender scoop?

  • from a racing boat engine, lots of cutting to make it fit the fender

  • good job on being different!

  • hey all mighty james town a centrifugal sc is called a pro charger??? Stupid me thought that was just the name of the company so that means the powerdyne, paxton, and vortech ones are different than just names? I love people who come online and teach us all a thing or two now get away from the computer and actually get your hands dirty

  • aren't you missing the s/c pulley belt??

    recomendations. .

    sell the s/c kit

buy nice intake mani with the money

and make a vid of you driving the car, or racing some fast cars.

twincharging in my eyes is a aste of money, the superchager blocks the air and you end up making less power then just being tubro chargerd.

  • It says right in the thing that he took the belt off

  • Not true.

Perhaps in a FULL OUT Horsepower war you would be correct. But for daily driving, a twincharged setup allows you to have the instant passing power of a s/c and have a shitload of boost for uptop without any lag.

On the street, a twincharged setup is always better.

SEXY CAR BTW!, I wish I could Turbo my Regal GS.!! Nice car.

  • dude underme, a centriugal sc is called a pro charger.

  • pro charger is a brand of centrifugal supercharger...

  • really this idea is feasable givin the superior off idle boost by the roots style SC and the high rpm boost characteristics of the turbo would be killer it would just require some sort of turbo boost bypass when engine speed ramps,I like the idea only id use a cetrifugal sc with a turbo to eliminate any obsticle created by the roots still though good idea

  • I think it would have made more sense to use an mp112 with a modified bbv since those can displace more at the bottom end but awesome either way. How's it coming along now?

  • It is an MP112 and I am in the process of adding a second BBV (out of a supercharged Thunderbird) along with an external wastegate and finishing up the AC system (which cryo cools the liquid intercoolers( 1 after the turbo and 1 under the blower), also dual fuel pumps (TRE 255L) in the works. Shooting for 550-600WHP on race gas.

  • um... no supercharger belt? lol

  • Yes, I am sure that everyone saw that and I was showing how the engine was spinning the blower with intake flow. This was the second video of the car after the build up, it was and still is in progress.

  • Man...sell me that whipple!! That supercharger is sick, especially polished. I think you'd have more gains wiht just the turbo. Very rare though, i've never seen a whipple and a turbo at the same time, i have seen an m90 and a turbo though...

  • "I think you'd have more gains wiht just the turbo."

That would be true with a standard supercharger, but not with an Eaton. The dual-helix design makes it impossible to lose pressure against the turbo.

  • What do you mean by standard supercharger? Eaton is a standard supercharger in my opinion. The Eaton design doesn't actually create boost, it only increases air velocity in short bursts. Pressure is created due to resistance to flow. The whipple is a Twin Screw, which actually compresses the air in the housing, so compressing already compressed air won't show gains. Most people use a supercharger cam grind, and use the turbo only for low boost apps, and open the bypass when the turbo spools.

  • Umm all you are doing is is wasting boost by forcing it to push the supercharger roters. Pull the rotors and snout and put a block off plate in. It will allow a more efficient and cooler air flow for more power.

  • "Umm all you are doing is is wasting boost by forcing it to push the supercharger roters."

It's really impressive how few of you understand how superchargers and turbos work. The supercharger is belt-driven and pushes air into the air intake of the engine. The turbo is exhaust-driven and pushes air into the intake of the engine.

Therefore, it is impossible for "boost" to "push the supercharger rotors"'.

  • What is really amazing is when people don't bother to look at the engine to see that there isn't a belt in place. The boost is would be working very hard to push the rotors like a turbine along with the associated gearing.

We also won't touch on the observation skills that it states when the video was added with the title "No supercharger belt"

  • I read up on what you're up to on another forum. There was not enough explanation in the vid. Good luck with the build.

  • Too much KR to run the S/C at the same time? Twincharging is a challenge, check out what SLP did to TwinCharge their L67. Good power returns on that one.

  • Not really twincharged if your are not running your supercharger. You're just a turbo car pushing air through your rotors, there's no belt to spin them.

  • This car is crazy wicked. Can you make mine look and run like that?!?!
