In fact, my parents ran into an elderly couple who were in a retirement cottage there, whilst staing in the town the week before the fires. The man said to my Mum, "my wife says that when she dies, she's already been to heaven because she's lived in Marysville."
We have no idea what the fate is of that couple, but she was right. It was beautiful. I hope it can be once more. Thoughts and wishes are with all the victims............
yes marysvile the best place to be....used 2 be my stop off point everytime i wud go to lake mountain for a ski.......marysville bakery sold the best egg and bacon rolls with a hot chocolate :)........im just so depressed that kinglake and marysville and wilsons prometry have just gone........used 2 visit those places with my parents 24/7.......its so sadening :(((((
Marysville was our holiday town for decades. From when we were tiny little kids to our adult years we'd head to town, staying at Blackwood Cottages or in recent years, my Dad and I would crash at the scout hall (also lost) after a weekend of hiking.
