A vehicle made in China vs a vehicle made in the US or Japan will have the exactly the same crash test rating, if they are the same design and made in the same way, which the auto makers ensure for all markets.

Therefore, it only maters where a vehicle is designed, not made.

Look again merc, toyota did help in 9/11, and some money does go back to the US, they are in fact in US soil, so they must pay some sort of taxes, etc. And ive seen plenty of old toyotas on the street where i live, but i barely see old gms, fords or chryslers.

Toyota is American built..Ford's Chrysler's and GM's are assembled in Mexico/Canada and most the part are made in china (light bulbs) Canada and Mexico..Im am not a Toyota fan and Im not saying anything to disagree with you..I personally though like my Korean made car though..

The tacoma tested was the TRO version witch is lifted higher than the base model is. Putting more of the impact on the rocker panel , rather than just the center pillar. Compare the lower sitting regular cab or choose an equivalent model like the Z-71 colorado which sit higher like the TRO tacoma.

No surprise...people trash talk Toyota, but they really are one of the most reliable auto makers...they do have a lot of recalls, but they make good on most if not all of them. Unlike American companies who hide their mistakes and deny them when called upon.

Explain my 2002 corolla..engine...had major engine issues in 2003...gave up on it in 2003 as well..Also explain the Tacoma throttle and computer issues toyota refuses to recall ( i personally know 4 people who have had the computer issues..)

Psy, I have to, by some extent agree with you aswell as disagree. Side impact I agree with this video where as front impact most trucks will drive over small cars when they are actually built to take frontal crashes. For example, you are not going to drive over a small vehicle if you BRAKE thus tilting the vehicle forward thus having a frontal crash.
