I'm curious about the length of flame, can you explain why you raised the boiler, how this is the refractory, why it is used and what is the heat exchanger now being used? Thanks!
@Inspironator I raised the boiler because it was nautral gas and not desingned for fuel oil. I removed the bottom, raised and built the refaratory under the boiler for the veggi burner. The refractory is holding up fine. Key is keep the flame from impingeing on the walls. Walls are lined with Fiber Fraxs. This reflects the energy into the fuel. With a lazer reading close to 2000 degrees F.

@fcguy7 That is where combustion takes place. Walls of the refractory reflect energy into the fuel for a complete burn.
