  • what is a refractory?

  • @fcguy7 That is where combustion takes place. Walls of the refractory reflect energy into the fuel for a complete burn.

  • does your house smell like french fries?

  • Great Job! It looks like your video was made a couple years ago, so have you changed anything? Could you give more details in an updated video or comment? I'm curious about the length of flame, can you explain why you raised the boiler, how this is the refractory, why it is used and what is the heat exchanger now being used? Thanks!

  • @Inspironator I raised the boiler because it was nautral gas and not desingned for fuel oil. I removed the bottom, raised and built the refaratory under the boiler for the veggi burner. The refractory is holding up fine. Key is keep the flame from impingeing on the walls. Walls are lined with Fiber Fraxs. This reflects the energy into the fuel. With a lazer reading close to 2000 degrees F.

  • great job, id love to be able to do it myself, have few bunners about the place, damn but where do i start.

  • superhelpful, thanks. After 18 months of WVO in the vehicle, I'm ready to heat the house. Much appreciated. If you care to respond, would love to hear about filtration (I assume Beckett burner?)

  • verry interesting to see how these things work out.. me and my bro are going to be looking into heating this way.... thanks for the vid.. good work
