Press B before you swing your sword during soul surge so you can stop. What I did was go back and jump back till he shoots fireballs and then guard. When you guard and before a second passes by, you gain a small point for the soul surge bar. Then when your ready to use soul surge, use it when he is about to release the lazers. If he is going to do the chaos control blast thing, then guard during soul surge. P.S. He starts shooting more lazers when he's about to lose and he attacks more.

Good luck. You might want to use a defense herb (or whatever you call it). You can get it from your 2nd encounter with king arthur but you got to beat him with a good star rating. Not too low. You may also get a item that boosts the amount of points you get in the soul surge bar. If you have those items, just equip it so they work and your ready. The defense herb helps if you make some mistakes and act impatient and fast like I did. Lol.

I think you have to beat the game and then there's a mission next to the one where you fought him called "lancelot returns" and there you have it. P.S. He's hard as fuck! I got pwned like more than 20 times cause I got used to him after 10 times but the other times I got killed was because of my impatience. Lol.

King Arthur would be Metal Sonic, both are doubles.

Merlina would be whatever Eggman's equivalent of his own version of Maria, assuming if he would ever had a granddaughter like his grandfather.
