God this should be number 1 of Saddest SNES music... cause is the only one that made me thought "don't cry... you are a big man... don' cry" at the same time that tears were dropping from my eyes...
I admit, I cried when I saw this ending for the first time. I wonder how sad it would be if someone added lyrics? I can't do it, I suck when it comes to that..
Every time I listen to this song I think of the ending to this game and every time I think of the ending it makes me cry. The part where it goes to their child and when it goes to Tia. Damn every single time I just can't help myself.
ok to the ones who dislike the lufia for the ds ITS an alternate version of lufia´s maxim in a new setting and it stands damn good on its own and i for one would love to see a remake of the first lufia game also for the ds since it will not be the same game but the same story more or less with a new flavor on it and its not always a bad thing and im a great fan of rpg´s on the snes and ps1.
When I played this game, I really liked Tia! She was so cute, and I felt so bad for her when Selan just marched in and was like HEY I'M MAKIN' BABIES WITH YOU, and Maxim just said "durrrr OK." Idiots.
And yet it's a rare case where the childhood friends didn't end up with each other, so maybe it's not all bad...
I didn't discover these games until a few years ago when I saw a copy of this and the second one at an old video game store. I decided to check them out and man am I glad I did. It really makes me appreciate the snes era of RPG gaming more than I already did. Almost all of my favorite RPG's come from the super nintendo. I was too young to remember this at first (I'm 18) but luckily my dad was a gamer so I'm lucky to be able to pick up games like this.
I remember the first Lufia. I played until I got through three of the towers, or some such, and my SNES cartridge reset the memory. I'm glad I've been opened to the world of roms now.
they should make the original available for the ds with the touchscreen for the menu so the new generation learns something about how much better the games and especially the storylines and chracter development used to be
I've seen some of the video footage of the remake it looks like a final fantay crystal cronicles ds game which wasnt a bad system but to transform the original format of lufia 2 into an action game format was a bad idea IMO. Also the characters look NOTHING like they did in the original. As per usual when it comes to remakes they dont care if they crush the series just as long as they make a profit. if the remake stays the same direction is a prime example why i hate rehash's.
@piscespeter3 You're being too harsh. I've seen the remake myself and it's actually worthy of the name it carries, and this is my favourite game of all time to boot. You have to understand games evolve and Lufia II required a proper adaptation for the current generation. Punch-Out for the Wii got it too and it's probably one of the best games for that console. When I think of bad remakes meant for pure cash-ins FF6 and Chrono Trigger come to mind.
I'm a big fan of RPGs, but I never got around to playing Lufia 2. There's a remake of it coming for the Nintendo DS, though, and is now becoming an action RPG. It seems a lot of Lufia 2 fans were quite upset by this, but I think I'll pick up this remake. If it's an action RPG like Secret of Mana or something, then yes, I'd gladly play it.
I often wonder how much our childhoods influenced our fierce devotion to these classic games of old. Lufia II simply evokes an impressive amount of nostalgia for me - I remember my mother reading the text to me before I could even recognize letters. Yet, playing the DS remake, I couldn't shake the feeling that it just wouldn't be worth the playthrough for anyone without that background. I certainly loved it to death. But I doubt many gamers today would shed tears over Maxim & Selan's sacrifice.
@PaperMario15 Yeah... if you'd played the original version you'd probably understand why it wouldn't be as good. I mean, I'd wait and see, but I highly doubt it'd work as well as the original version.
@PaperMario15 yeah, and i know why most of them are upset about it.
its because that this so called remix ist nowhere near the feeling you have while playing the original games. Im honestly... even if i would come to get a DS, i would want to play it at all.
@DragonOfStorm1987: It's less Lufia II proper and more of a "What If" thing, really. Not bad, but not as good as the original. Really, if it wasn't competing with this masterpiece of a game, I'd have called the new one a pretty great game! Still worth a playthrough for the puzzles alone, though. Puzzling always was the Lufia way, and that's quite alive yet.
I know it's a really late reply (over a year) but the DS version does not do justice to the SNES version! I'd avoid the DS version, and track down a copy of Lufia 2 if I were you.
Peace of Mind gave me a 16 bit orgasm *_*

This song are soo sad!.. Maxim worked so much.. and he saved the world of crisis..
He are so gentleman.. and Selan.. are a girl so strong.. she have SOUL and SPIRIT of a warrior..

I don't think this is a sad song... maybe reflexive, but not sad.
it's entirely written in a major key... well, to me it has an uplifting feel...
but, yeah, in the right context it can be sad =p

Thanks for bringing that up.

It's not a remake but Maxim, Selan and Gades appear in it. Apparently Gades is playable too, or so they say.

No...No, I'm quite sure it's a Lufia 2 remake. Any gaming site would tell you the same thing.

@PaperMario15 Well Lufia 2 is a good game, but be prepared for some very tough and challenging puzzles in the dungeons!

@PaperMario15 You need to play the SNES version first before you play the DS game.. If you haven't yet that is... Old School is the Way to go. :)
