Very well done! It would be neat to see a show like this actually made. Along with the individual personal stories, I'd know i'd be interested seeing how characters cope with the environments around them, and resourcefulness under severe physical and emotional stress.
Powerful video... it'd make a fantasic show, maybe each episode set at one hour long and deals with one person at a time, but the lead on week would meet the person that would become the lead in next weeks episode, like have Henry bump into Heather, or something. And, you'd need characters other than those in the game, but yeah, if this was picked up by the right person, it would become an amazing show... Brilliant idea and beautiful execution of its trailer! :] Faved for sure! *sigh* if only...
I recognized all the sounds you used from the Silent Hill games. Most of them were from Silent Hill 4, the game in the series with the most disturbing soundtrack.
Oh, I loved it! Like many others, you made me sad that this wouldn't be true......
Though......with all the recent Silent Hill comic book series, I wouldn't be shocked if Konami approved of something like this. Personally, I would prefer if it was an anime series. Not knocking live action, but the cost for a live action series based on Silent Hill would have an effects bill through the roof! Also, if they got the right team together, they could get a generally creepy anime series going.
The kinds of anime I've seen though don't seem to lend themselves to the grime and grittiness of Silent Hill though (Anime is inherently smooth and graceful.) Maybe a CG show? Redegeneration (the new Resident Evil CG movie) looks about right for Silent Hill actually!
As for live action, well shows like True Blood and Fringe get by, delivering some quality horror for a modest budget. Maybe a smaller budget would help the Silent Hill franchise (remember the big-budget movie :P)
Well maybe if they went more thriller-like than horror-like. For example, the latest Silent Hill graphic novel/comic book, Silent Hill: Hunger was mostly set in a real world Silent Hill that didn't have monsters and stuff until the last 1/4 or 1/5 of the story, and it still was creepy as hell.
'Real-world Silent Hill' sounds a bit like an oxymoron to me! But it does sound interesting.
I wish there could be imaginative stuff like that on TV. If they can build a starship bridge set for something like Firefly, they can build a creepy village set I'm thinking.
Why even build a set? There are plenty of small towns across the US that have that creepy look of Silent Hill. I can think of SEVERAL towns here in Oklahoma that when I passed through them I would think "this place would make a GREAT Silent Hill", and even better, they don't need to use the same town over and over, as in the games and comics, the town itself looks differently to whoever is in it. Thusly, for each story they could go to a different small time town across the US.
Out of curiosity, would you have an overarching story (Babylon 5, Lost) have the show be episodic (Star Trek, Stargate) or a little of both (X-Files, Firefly, Torchwood)?
I would have it be episodic, but they all have an overarching connection. Like the cause of the demons have the same cause. In my mind it is a young teenage girl with long jet black hair, ghost pale skin, and an old Victorian-era like white dress stained with blood. And she is the source of the darkness in the town. The reason is she was violently killed in a ritual by The Order in Silent Hill in an attempt to summon their God, kind of like what happened to Alessa in the first game.
i think i just creamed my self... awesome compilation, of footage - i would love to see something like that, lol was that 1408 footage i saw in there? ;)
Oh my God. The potential is astounding. Every week a new visitor, every week a new psychotic dream. Little vignettes into the minds of the disturbed and the guilty.
You sir, are a bastard. Because now you have ignited a longing in my heart that shall never be slaked. Damn you.
Kickass trailer, though. Using both live action and cutscenes from the games was brilliant. You used just enough actual game footage to connect to the source, but not have us notice the discrepancy. Well done.
I'd love to see this one too believe me. I bet that if they did this, and did this well, it might save the sci fi channel, or hell, any network. I know I'd be less likely to use my TV as a table and nothing else (seriously, what is on nowadays?)
Say, is your username related to Psychonauts? I love that game!
This was very good, and very creep. You chose the perfect assotment of clips. Also you didnt overuse clips from the movie, like some people would do. Good Work!
It should be directed by David Lynch.

I thought so too. I use the Room of Angel theme WAY too much in my videos (creepiest lullaby I know)
Hope you liked the trailer even if you recognized all the sounds.

Yes. Yes it is. Isn't wonderful? :)

It was! I'm looking foreword to Brutal Legend by the same developer, which has Jack Black voicing the main character!
