Korn and all of the other recently overrated metal bands are nowhere near as cool as Prong, who would have probably have been more popular had they wrote more catchy, more shallow songs.
The metal genre is not dead .. it was just taken from the amin public because it has a "heavy" theme on destruction and savagery , themes not proper to a growing 2 civilization " , which has it own kind of .. behaviour , i think it is a good theme and probly it was a grave mistake to take it from the main publics , these issues must discussed and solved .
i wouldnt say that .. but metal goes on themes not for proper civilization issues .. dark matters regisn this themes .. and why wouldnt u prefer a lot of girls dancing in ur front instead of heavy dramatization on waht u failed last night .. cheers nice listening song and powerfull
This is one of the few bands that still is making music and didn't soften up or change style. Check out the song "Regal" off this album, the fastest and heaviest song by them I've heard, near death-metal intensity and aggressiveness
I have a real question, how can a band that is this fucking good never be recognized as Korn, pantera and metallica as one of the best bands out there? This is true thrash all the fuckin' way!
i totally dig the drive this song has so steady and old school early 90 hardcore metal.if u like this u definitely will like pro-pain-death on the dance floor
Nu-metal bashing is getting really tired, especially since the genre has been pretty much dead for 5 years. Anyways I thought it was cool to bash emo nowadays? Even that's getting annoying.
One thing nu metal has that most modern metal lacks these days is HEAVY riffs and such. Most modern metal has loud overbearing drums and thin sounding guitars. I'm not much of a fan for nu metal or modern metal/metalcore/whatever. But if I had to choose, I'd choose nu metal.
Too much of the modern metal is lacking in balance. The drums are, indeed, too loud and the guitars sound like they're tuned in drop E (with the annoying "enhancement" of Pro Tools).
Then there's the humbled presence of the bass and the vocals being a bit too upfront in the mix.
Nu metal had an intensity in the guitar sound that makes me wonder why Slipknot, Korn and Limp Bizkit get criticized more than Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium and Bullet for my Valentine.
the bands you listed all suck. the 90s metal scene became crap thanks to shit bands like korn and limp bizkit. it made me lose interest in mainstream metal and i got into more death metal but to the garbage.
Amen!! (Old) Helmet, Prong and Barkmarket encapsulated the 90's metal/nu metal sound. And maybe some Soundgarden. Korn and Limp Bizkit had some potential, but were over-produced and became gimmicks and image, not bands.
well i never really liked this band but i respect the fact that thanks for them and others good band as pantera thrash music changed in a more powerful direction....love the 90s so much......
I love the sound of pinch harmonics. Right around Cleansing (my favorite album) they started using them in almost every song. They sound a lot cooler than Black Label Society too.
@Sonybacker Definately... No Prong=No Static, No Korn, Pantera probably would have died as just another glam band...etc. Basically Prong's influence on today's metal will probably never be fully realized... except maybe 20 years from now on a VH-1 Rockography. Even then their influence will probably be grossly underestimated. You may as well try to contemplate where metal would be without the influence of Metallica, or Megadeth.
all u ppl can chime about metal or 'numetal' fuk that prong has always been the ultimate metal party band... just ask my mom... lol
