  • jah rastafari

  • I S2 GANJA!!

  • Honestly, reggae is all about feeling positive vibes. For some people, that includes smoking weed, for others it doesn't. Either way, respect it.

  • (ps) class song

  • i totally agree i am also a white so & so with a lack of beloninging but im sure the negroes dont want you either ya knacker

  • Like dubreggae, don' t smoke weeds "only sigarets" or others!! Only like it! Everyone how don't like this don't comment!!

Rasta people are like us! christen! only i don't have a relegion, loosing all,but dubreggae keep me strong, sorry for my english if they're default, know better french!

  • i only smoke weed every once and a while at parties and shit, but as a musician, i can truly appreciate reggae. and in my opinion, black uhuru does it best. reggae is so much more rhythmically complex then a lot of other styles of music. and its spiritual. not just about bitches and money. even though i love rap. haha. you get my point

  • Black Uhuru Rules!

  • I'm a solider in the war against my seeds, yippy aye rise now! I was to prison for the plants they say I grew...way away from my family! My wife she failed to feed my children, for there was no money. I ask why Jah! Why is this the law!?

  • do you mean he have ever been smoking a joint?

  • Reggae doesnt like soldiers

  • smoke smoke smoke ....... SINSEMLLA

  • 3:06 min.

  • People dont understand that reggae isnt about the weed, the essence is the music and what it says, the lyrics.

It's not all about being a pothead.

Most of the people that listen to reggae dont even understand what "Rastafari" is.

  • @JohnnyMo0dy - well stated...nor do they understand the culture, and the religion...they should dirt dive into into it and hope they come up with a better mind set and respect for it. Nuff said!!! X

  • @JohnnyMo0dy not saying, reggae is about weed, but if you understood Rastafari yourself, you'd know that marijuana is a holy sacrament in the Rastafarian religion. -.-

  • @JohnnyMo0dy And most people saying they're Rasta , don't understand that Rastafari is an religion. They just have rasta , they're not religious people.

  • @JohnnyMo0dy I completely agree with you man.. I smoke weed and i listen to reggae.. but i'm no rastafarian... i respect music and the power it holds. not because of the artists beliefs.. i personally dont know all that much about rastafarianism...doesnt meant i cant respect the music..

  • tonight on nisville jazz fest!

  • viva la mariguana amigou

  • what's the nam of the guitar player ?

  • @polo339 Daryl Thompson

  • yeah sly and robbie...jah rasta respect1

    create, not hate

be gentle, be strong commit no wrong

be at peace with the song of life whatever your song

  • People who smoke pot are idiots.

  • @ZLUGGO

can you expand on why they're idiots then? pretty sure bob marley wasn't an idot, douche.

  • @mrm955

    Drug abuse is foolishness.

  • @ZLUGGO

    they make good tunes though..

  • @mrm955

    That's another kettle of fish.

  • @ZLUGGO Abuse is always foolishness, smoking weed is not.

  • @Muxen92

All drug abuse is abuse. You lose brain cells regardless. Rastafarianism is of the devil.

  • @ZLUGGO Tell that to the whole world who consume alcohol, coffee and tobaco. Those are drugs aswell, stop being so brainwashed by the Government.

  • @Muxen92

I do NOT use alcohol or tobacco. And coffee is not a drug. YOU are being brainwashed by Garvey's satanic and erroneous doctrines from hell. Pot smokers are crack pots.

  • @ZLUGGO Caffeine is a drug last time I checked. There are different types of drugs, you can't say every drug is bad because heroin is a drug and it ruins your body. And why do you repress human rights to do whatever they want to their body? YOU DO NOT DECIDE MY CHOICES, repressor man!

  • @Muxen92

Coffee does not affect a person the way pot does. Well, call me a dictator, pal. I just hate pot.

  • Comment removed

  • @Muxen92 YOU ...sir...are an idiot....

  • @Muxen92 Facts are facts...you are an idiot.

  • Who is guy SInging? No one i have seen seen or heard before....

  • These drums ... oh my!

  • Hi, please help with the lyrics [I‘ve got a] Stalk of sensimilla grooming in my backyard X2 Don't cut down the collie tree Because it make the best tea for me I heard doctor say it is naturally One thing (0:45) I believe (0:47) To make you strong and fortune (?) in Babylon X1 Oh yes I've walked the street and seen children downtown I Begging everyone they meet and it hurts I It can't be right for the world (?) do for the youths and little herbs I'm selling; they want to capture me
  • @notadamus I and I don't cherish wickedness because it's not profit to I and I

    X2 instrumental X2

There is a red home (?) yonder full of marijuana

They‘ve been sitting (2:48) chatting onto the informer/(farmer?)

    X2

I don't know the English that well to understand this song completely, so I hope you'll help.

    btw super song, Jah bless.

  • Jah Man..!!!!!

  • Either they had a really bad monitor mix, or the mix-down engineer did some horrible editing.

  • SENDING LOVE FROM BRAZIL !!! JAH JAH BLESS

  • ecepciona el reggae roots me gusto buena vivraaa

  • dit is NIET goed , sly and robbie kan het niet aan liggen

  • I agree that nobody can touch Michael Rose's vocals but this performance is very poor. It is out of tune and even if the keyboard is ropey the Sly and Robbie should keep the riddim SOLID. What happened at 1.44? There must have been a problem with the onstage monitoring.

  • someones off... piano maybe? Michael Rose, Don Carlos and Junior Reid all outshine this singer... Michael Rose' current band is much stronger than this lineup too... Michael Rose KILLEd IT at the Ragga Muffin Fest in Oakland last year...

  • @PharmiesFromFremont

Except he kept on calling Oakland San Diego lol. not that affected his performance at all though

  • that piano player is FIRED... hes behind the beat the entire song...

  • Great band! :D <3

  • fuck this singer, this is a disgrace to the original song..michael rose is the one who gives you that feeling, I would never go to a black uhuru concert if someone else was singing the songs..i wish they had more footage of old school black uhuru concerts..watch black uhuru-abortion

  • @tampatodabay wtf are u talking about? His quiet good this singer... i like him more than ROSE.

  • mhm important question !! were can i see the live;D?? or other question are they on tour?

  • Wow i like the stile of their lead guitarist, he is cool!

  • if u dont smoke ganja u will never get close with reggae u will never understand the meaning...

jah bless and smoke some real marijuana not some chemistry

  • @MarakanaCacak1989 depends on^^

  • ?????This is not Mykal Roze, Don Carlos, Garth Dennis, or juinor reid singing lead....... this is the last line up of Black Uhuru , with only Duckie simpson ( older dread not singing much) from the original line up...... at least sly and robbie are there

  • AFRICAN SOUL MUSIC TOUCHES THE SOUL LIKE NO OTHER!

  • is this don carlos or michael rose singing??

  • @Migrasjam Dont carlos is a bit older.

  • @Migrasjam Andrew Bees

  • please someone take a look at "HEAVY SOUNDZ \ ganja is the healing of the nation \ roots\05 " and tell me the name of the original song. thank you guys so much.

  • The guy in the piano... stoned as hell

  • REGGAE

  • Reggea is alive and well in hick ass east Texas. I was cultured when I was stationed in Germany many moons ago. I brought back with me my new love of Rasta music mon. ergo tosha ist good.

  • @bago1994 Even as east as here, in Romania, reggae is still alive!

  • @bago1994 Spread the sound around The Piney Woods, Bro !!! I've got plenty of fam in the Tyler/Longview area. Great soil to grow some good stuff, you dig ? (lol)

  • @bago1994 Bless you! So much love for the youth soilders that are open to the truth!..America needs more love.. more inity more understanding.. thank u for your service and your stance against wickedness! You are a blessed ambassador! hopefully we can tour there and all meet up.. Andrew Bees would definitly buy u drink!

  • @bago1994 u still a soldier?

  • You can't start a revolution if you're fucked up.

  • the mixer had no clue how to mix, maybe it was his first reggae mix

  • Great !!

  • BraveOne1990 .Creo que nadie dijo que el reggae esta muerto nose porque pones eso.

lol, I would propably do the same in Switzerland, otherwise I couldn't stand this country...

gruess vomene Ex-Schwiizer, seit 2002 gluecklich ohne Schweiz, und kiffen sowieso ;-)

  • Wow.., bit of a shock to see the timing go like that. Seems the keyboard player is responsible, but it could just be because his mix is awful and he can't hear a thing. In large stadiums that type of crap happens, if there are many bands playing. Always liked a bit of Uhuru....

  • @emmetor natural reverb can be tough to fit your timing with live. worse in big stadiums, sometimes the notes sound like they are coming before they play lol

  • @unfoundbassist yeah, I remember two nightmares in particular. One was a small gig with a ridged ceiling, and the bass player had some big big cabs, so every time that a certain few note was played, the room vibrated louder than the music and I actually felt dizzy. Awful. The other time was a festival (stadium) and the band sounded like they were a kilometre away. All I could hear were my keys, and I was watching the drummer and singing to myself to know what part of the song we were in.

  • Wish this group was still together as it was the. I saw them probably 10 times during the Michael Rose, Sly and Robbie period. Nothing better than that.

By the way, I saw Michael in SJ this summer and he put on a great show. All Black Uhuru songs.

  • I love reggae, it relaxes me. There has to come more reggae bands right now. Like: reggae like in the old days, but then more modern. Some new kind of reggae. Anyway, i do like reggae like it was.

  • @thomhamer try listening to tribal seeds.....;)

  • sly and robbie...take it away...!!

  • Sadly, not up to the standard of the original lineup with Michael Rose.

The Rhythm Twins Sly & Robbie will always rock it though.

  • the keyboard player is so stoned that he's late all the time ... :D

  • Keyboards badly out of time. Maybe they had some issue with the sound setup.

  • @tomstickland

Maybe the keyboard player was having an off day

  • organic stuff!!!

  • My favourite song by Black Uhuru. I remember going to watch them at the rainbow theatre. Brings back memories.

  • got a stock of sensemilla grooming in my backyard

    raggae one love one world

    greets from germany

  • sensemilla forever!!!! fayaaaaaaa!!!!!!

  • jharastafary ao Senhor dos exercitos a Jesus!

  • THIS IS NOT BLACK UHURU !! Sly & Robbie are basically the only ones who make some kind of a groove , the singer is not even reaching Michael Rose 's little toe ( good imitation though :) ) This is awfull just check the completly off rythm keyboards at hte start of the song , painfull to the ears to say the least REGGAE is not dead .... but it's not really "vivant" here .... don't waste your time watchin' this as I have typing .... peace ..... keep on skankin'

  • @brucespringstof totally agree, I was just about to say the same thing.

Keyboards are absolutely ruining the whole song...

  • Allez voir ça sur youtube :

Groundation 'Walk the proud land' Bob Marley Tribute The Mezzanine Feb 7, 2009

Black Uhuru - General Penitentiary and Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

  • HBD 4,20 TODAY HAPPY 4,20 EVERYBODY

  • @edddollar

Thanks, dude! Same to you! ;] BROFIST!

  • Sly & Robbie are faultless as usual but the overall sound isn't the same as the original Black Uhuru and the singer isn't as interesting as Michael Rose.

  • Black Uhuru hace un reggae de altísimo nivel y calidad, mis maximos respetos. saludos desde Perú

  • Respond to this video...sinsimelia means without seed, indica is a genus like sativa and ruderalis, sativa gets you highest, they can all be sensi if grown without the presence of a male,

  • there should be more reggea songs about indica...much better high in my opinion

  • the best rydum section Sly and Robbie

  • Hello. We are a new Reggae/Rock band from Miami named HYLLUS trying to be heard. We have many different influences and strive to create a new sound. Check us out for a new groove.

  • its the drummer!..not listening to the base player or the singer no rythm going..but the organ keyboards sound rough too...

  • I love Black Uhuru but this performance here is AWFUL... the band (piano and drummer mainly) are so outta pocket! i would fire them both after the show or tour :) they are not feelin it, or took some wrong drugs

  • black uhuru come to australia 11

  • the pianoplayer sucks :D

  • why?

  • cause hes sloppy....

  • it is very sloppy... michael rose solo, plays it a lot better :) i agree with you :)

  • @vinylreggae right. hes out of time

  • i know you are getting a lot of shit for the comment, but i cannot disagree with you... he is loose but it may also be the drummer... somethings is very loose on this performance :)

  • You're right, the keyboard player is out of time. The rest of the band is fine!!

  • Comment removed

  • Reggea is not dead!!

  • No it ain't. It just ain't mainstream. Which is a good thing. Mainstream sucks.

  • Comment removed

  • you're making a fool of yourself, kid: you're just not paying attention. How would you have any idea about "true reggae soul"?

    Get over yourself.

  • @MrSmartBob

    It's not mainstream?

Are you living under a rock?

  • @MrSmartBob Mainstream doesn't suck... Being mainstream just means everyone likes it, not that it's bad... Mainstream music nowdays just really really sucks.

  • @GnRwhore Mainstream is just what its called, following the main stream, selling out your own creativity to get played more on the radio, so yeah it does suck!
