@MrPaintballfreak13 Yes, you are right about that. I hate today's pop more than anything else. I was only pointing out that those bands while they may be real music are too negative and dark for the taste of some, so they listen to milder, more melodic stuff like this.

Ah' yes! DOKKEN's "Into The Fire." It was a time when music was actually still music. These days mainstream music is nothing more than a bunch of flashy bright colors, over produced "booty shakin" Dubstep beats, and teenage girls who think they can sing.
Still, times are changing and we'll never have the simple concept of the music video (or anything) from the 80's back. People like their tech toys too much. Kids today wouldn't last long with the limited communication in the 80's.
@DoomzdaySayer "...a time when music was actually still music." What planet are you living on? There is plenty of great music today. Youtube is filled with amazing newer artists. Fuck mainstream music, it has always been shit. Mainstream music in the 80's had it's fare share of garbage as well. What the fuck is with this snobby, elitist attitude that I keep seeing from older commenters? That isn't anyway to represent your generation. Nostalgia is one thing, but this weak sauce is getting old.
@captaindaring Yeah', well get over it. I don't have to represent anyone or speak for any generation. This is just how I feel and no critiquing from some random person online is going to "make me see the light."
"Oh' gosh! Some random kid made me feel like an old fuddy duddy! I don't want people to think I'm some old sour puss who hates on todays generation. I better shape up or ship out!"
@DoomzdaySayer First of all I'm not some kid. I love how often that is used as a put down. Very mature. I was part of the 80's generation. And fuck if I'm going to try and convince you of anything. I'd have an easier time getting Israel and the Palestinians to get over their differences. I'm just expressing my opinion like you did. I would also like to point out that Dokken was one of those 80's rock bands that got criticized for being too soft and too commercial. Kind of ironic, huh?
@captaindaring Dokken was indeed considered commercial back in the day, but they sure weren't POISON or anything. Back in the 80's (and even to this day) I always thought of them as darker and more serious than the usual "Hair Metal." Being a huge fan of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3, I thought it was perfect they were on the Soundtrack.
Sorry if my comments offended you but remember, you were the one who wanted to follow suit. After all, you didn't have to read my comments.
@DoomzdaySayer I always thought Dokken stood out from most other bands too. They weren't quite "power metal", but definitely not the typical glam rock band that pretty much plagued the second half of the 80's.
@captaindaring And another thing, I know there are amazing new musicians out there today. I can listen to anything from DEADMAU5 to MODEST MOUSE. Like any other human being, I can enjoy Hip Hop like DEL THE FUNKY HOMOSAPIEN and the latest BAD MEETS EVIL album, then change it up to Death Metal like BLACK TUSK or new Prog Metal like BRING ME THE HORIZON. It doesn't matter to me, just as long as it's actually good.
Sorry to interject, but bring me the horizon...prog metal? they are FAR from that, there is nothing prog about them. Between the buried and me, dream theater, symphony X, thats prog, just sayin haha
@ChaseSteele19 Jesus fucking Christ, the internet really sucks these days. I thought chat rooms were bad enough in the mid 90's. These days, no matter where you go, there's always some asshole throwing his two cents in about what he or she really thinks is "Prog Metal." Or whatever. You can't even leave a simple comment on a website anymore. Not unless you want some faceless, opinionated, nobody to call you out every other statement.
It is so good to see positive responses on Metal from the 80's. I grew up on it & I'm 37 now & still hold these songs w/value. I bought this cassette Tooth & Nail & Ozzy's Speak of the Devil at the same time & it's been metal music for me ever since.
@rickyrma My husband and I watched this movie last night! I thought it was cool they put Dokken's music in this movie. We went to Cheapo and got a Nightmare on Elm Street set with the first 4 movies.

@MeanStreet93 I dont know much about van halen...so i believe you... to me sounds also like vivian campbell 's solos with peculiar way to insert notes where they dont seem to fit(talking about tempo). But anyway really good solo i thinkand song too cause as our friend "onthemoveagain" said the melody istotally diferent. And there are some parts that have nothing to do with R. the Dark just a big part of the harmonie is exactely alike ...more like a sampler LOL in a way.
@beroth77 Yeah, the solo kinda sounds like something Vivian Campbell would do. Viv' copies all of his licks from Gary Moore. This sounds like a flated darker Van Halen sounding solo. though.

Hello there! Have you heard about bee4biz (search on google)? It is a tiny url locker that pays. Its much better than other sites and they pay more. Check them out if you want to make money shortening and sharing links online
I am so sick of reading, seeing (tried to listen) 2 that Bieber joke of a vocalist wanna b musuckshun ...puhleeze. Just met Doug Aldrich, Briian Tichy and Reb Beach @ the Casino where my all-female band played ...Pretty damn cool this life can be!!
@ROBBY639 I'm in! Please contact me when youir Time Machine is completed. I am willing to help you build it if you need my help.. I can't wait, 1st stop: 1982, Sunset Strip CA. with a fat one ready to go....\m/....\m/....
Early 1985...maybe February or March...my friend and I robbed a drug dealer in his apartment...I took it upon myself to blow his fucking head off...as we drove off, this song was on the radio...it was a cold, snowy night....everytime I hear this song, I get goosebumps and the hair on my neck stands on end....
I grew up down the street from Don and Bobby Blotzer and Ratt bandmate Steve pearcy would get to sit in when Dokken's band would be too fucked up to practice. Motley crue was doing too good to soil thier hands on his old equipment. By the time this album dropped Don had upgraded his equipment and his band!
Budget for this video... 75 bucks. lol I'm still a huge fan of Dokken's music but this video is the visual equivalent of bobbing for french fries. It sounds much more fun than it really is.
@muskysnax Did you know these dudes, too! They were broke as hell until their first LP dropped. His band unreliable, Don was a dick but a hard worker that deserved the chance and got paid.
One day I was just chilling on my couch and watching Metal Mania (I think it was). This song was playing and my mom comes into the room. She knows I like this kind of music, but she looked at the tv and then at me like it was some crazy disaster... then she says "I forgot how amazing these bands were!" and then watches hours of Metal Mania with me.
Great band. I fucking love the guitar in this song. Dokken's got some great songs.
Love the 80's riffs, and their all around sound is great. I could stand listening to them as back ground radio. But they're so 'main stream' it's almost generic. Climb out of the commercialized meat product and put some effort toward originality and they'd make onto my list of intentional picks. Y'all fans can flag me on that if it arouses your insecurities into juvenilistic slander, but this is my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Have a great fucking day.
in my opinion this song got some of the best riffs from the heavy metal of the 80´s, and the guitar solo kick ass. George Lynch set the guitar into the fire.
@onthemoveagain YES YOU ARE RIGHT THE VOICE MEODY HAS NOTHING TO DO .... BUT THE RIFF OVER THE VERSE IS A RIPP OF LISTEN THERE'S EVEN THE C,B,A,G,A NOTES BEFORE COME BACK TO THE VOCALS DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT IM SAYING?GUESS YES ,YOU ARE A PLAYER TOO RIGHT?I LIKE THIS SONG A LOT I HEARD FOR THE FIRST TIME ABOUT 3 DAYS AGO THAN I REALIZE... THERE'S SOMETHING FAMILIAR HERE LOL,CAUSE I KNOW RAINBOWIN THE DARK FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS ...SO ...
@Fabiuh23 - Hey "Dumb Ass Fabiuh23" , get your facts straight before you step on your short appendage. "Into The Fire" came out well before Tesla's "Modern Day Cowboy".
@jeffsandahl i didn't say they stole the main riff or something olike that. I just heard the 2 songs on after another and thought they were similar. if that's so then tesla kinda copied the main riff
If you can't handle the truth.... Even DON DOKKEN ADMITS IT'S A CHEESY VIDEO. I Lived through this, and still love the 80's as far as your comments... if you have to use my mom more power to you... she has been dead for years.
This sound had balls. I wonder what happend to cool music like this, say what you will about them, but they rock and it's fun music. What are we going to listen to now, fucking Jay Z or Gaga or maybe Justine B? Shit man, i'm in my mid 40's and turning into a puss listening to this crappy music that's on now. I caught myself singing that Firework song by Katy Perry, and I was singing it out loud in my car. Shit man, that's pretty fucking scary.
well todays music mostly sicks . there is the chance we can banc together and form a 80s style rock band. with the look feel and sound. that sound that makes you want to live not feel depressed. lets change the world
@jbtv1980 it'snot change in music but change in our deeds can lead us to light like Adopting Vegetarianism For Non Voilence And Compassion For Those Animals Who Can't Even Speak Of Their Pain
Ive got over 2100 videos and exponentially counting on my channel (favorites) equally awesome to this, im only fourteen, i play guitar, and i plan on doing EXACTLY what everybody on 80s AOR, hair metal, and heavy metal videos ask for. Support thumbs for channel? (favorites only) :D

By the time this album dropped Don had upgraded his equipment and his band!
huthicle 8 months ago in playlist dokken
Budget for this video... 75 bucks. lol I'm still a huge fan of Dokken's music but this video is the visual equivalent of bobbing for french fries. It sounds much more fun than it really is.
muskysnax 9 months ago
@muskysnax Did you know these dudes, too! They were broke as hell until their first LP dropped. His band unreliable, Don was a dick but a hard worker that deserved the chance and got paid.

An AMAZING song. Dokken at it's prime. Wow they rocked! Amazing George Lynch solo!!!

METALXTRM 9 months ago
Love the 80's riffs, and their all around sound is great. I could stand listening to them as back ground radio. But they're so 'main stream' it's almost generic. Climb out of the commercialized meat product and put some effort toward originality and they'd make onto my list of intentional picks. Y'all fans can flag me on that if it arouses your insecurities into juvenilistic slander, but this is my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Have a great fucking day.

riffs, Lynch, this moment from 2:46 take me there (...) MAAAAGIC !!! PURE MAGIC !!!!

Saw Dokken three times in the 80's. AWESOME! Graduated in 86 and had the best times and concerts during that time. Metal was at it's peak.
jeffsandahl 9 months ago
in my opinion this song got some of the best riffs from the heavy metal of the 80´s, and the guitar solo kick ass. George Lynch set the guitar into the fire.

THERE'S SOMETHING FAMILIAR HERE LOL,CAUSE I KNOW RAINBOWIN THE DARK FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS ...SO ...
beroth77 4 months ago
why is this a similar version of "Modern day cowboy" by Tesla? At least the main riff is the same only on a different note.
Fabiuh23 9 months ago
@Fabiuh23 - Hey "Dumb Ass Fabiuh23" , get your facts straight before you step on your short appendage. "Into The Fire" came out well before Tesla's "Modern Day Cowboy".
jeffsandahl 9 months ago
@jeffsandahl i didn't say they stole the main riff or something olike that. I just heard the 2 songs on after another and thought they were similar. if that's so then tesla kinda copied the main riff
