  • RUBY was my first inspiration! a little unnoticed fag living in NJ, I saw her in the early eighties at Uncle Charlies West and was mesmerized! thank you Lady Rims!

  • Thank you , thank you, thank you , for this video ! I adore Ruby although I haven't seen her in years . So glad we hooked up on Facebook ! She is an inspiration to us all ! Hugs from Palm Springs !

  • We love you Ruby you always have been an inspiration!

  • Thanks to all of you who left messages and to Justin Ward for doing this video and just a bit of information to annoyinglydiffcult I'll always give Credit where it's due if I had been asked to in the video I would have but the credit does not go to Tiffany Jones or Raphel Tiamo the first person I ever saw do the song in 1976 The credit here goes to Charles Asnavour He wrote it I have had the honor of singing it in my own voice unlike the two wonderfull performers I just metioned !

  • Glad to see Ruby Rims is still performing. While somewhat touching, it's only fair for Mr.Rims to give credit where credit is due. The late, great Kenneth Whitehead, AKA Tiffany Jones--The Texas Tornado ended his show with the routine Ruby does. The transformation from woman to man while singing Charles Aznavour's "What Makes A Man A Man" is nothing short of breathtaking. While imitation is certainly flattery, please give credit where it's due. Be a "mensch"!

  • It was a pleasure to meet you last night at Really Cooking in that little ole town called Dallas, Pa. Your show was wonderful and I enjoyed chatting with you afterwards. I wish you all the best of good health and happiness. Remember....stay postive, laugh and most of all put on your "lipstick" everyday!!! The Flapper

  • I miss Ruby Rims! Years ago at the anvil I'd listen to Mr. Rims sing in that very sloppy manner and to date no drag queen has ever come up to her amazing performances. Later I'd lose my wallet once or twice in the basement. Oh what a special place and time. Thank you for posting this and I'm so happy to see Mr. Rims doing so well. Your eternal fan.

  • @patricklilly

OMG, I got mugged twice @ The Anvil. LOLLL

  • OMG Ruby! I met you about 30 years ago. A friend took me to the Anvil for the first time to see you perform....you fell down the stage stairs after your number.

The next day and I saw you on the street near Julius'. You were carrying a toolbox and I asked "what's that"? You smiled and said "my face." I asked you the name of the song you performed and you told me it was "Champagne Taste" by Eartha Kitt.

You're the first drag queen I ever met and you were very sweet.

    Lots of Love XX

  • I believe in you Ruby!!

    Love,

    Karen xoxoxo
