As future advice NEVER, and I mean NEVER use pure white on a mini.
It's a hell of a lot better than my first, btw. Now, whenever you paint cloth or straps that are old or worn, drybrush a light grey. In gandalf's case, everywhere but the sword and face.
It came with the package. Is there any difference in using square VS using round bases in battle? As stated, I'm a beginner and would be more than happy if you could tell me. :)
Firstly, (after priming my model with Chaos Black), I painted the staff and belts with Snakebite Leather. Then, I mixed Goblin Green with Chaos Black (about 80/20, this should give you a kind of military-greenish tone) and thinned the color mix with clean water. Lastly, I simply applied the mix on the staff and even a more watered-down mix of the same sort on the belts.
Thank you Smurfs4lyf, Sicdrummer2807 and everyone else. Your comments make me even more inspired to continue with my painting. I just bought some Dwarf Rangers. I'll be posting a video when I finish them. :)
I posted this vid as a response to yours since I found your vid being a great inspiration.
I think I need to go to the store and get more paints, obviously. =) Maybe some base paints. Any recommendations on what to think about in order to improve my painting skills?
You could visit some games workshop stores, and ask for some tips and tricks there. I'll be doing a video soon, in which I'll just navigate everybody through some basics ;).

The figures came with those bases. As a beginner, back then I couldn't distinguish what bases (round or square) belonged to what.

Is his beard just Skull White?
Faramir1992 3 years ago
Yes. With an extremely watered down wash of Mithril Silver across the beard.

I think it looks really cool for your first time paint :). Why a response to my vid actually??
About your skill, if you keep practising you'll become a great painter one day ;)
